Alex accepted her offer and took the only available seat at the table. The first thing he noticed was the empty glass in front of her. He waived over a waitress and merely pointed to the drink. The waitress understood completely and hurried to get the refill. She knew exactly what it was.
"Thank you," Alex said first. He didn't expect the woman to accept a guest. She looked like she could have used someone to talk to. "So why are you sitting here alone? Are you waiting for someone to join you?" He asked as he looked towards the entrance. Of coarse he wouldn't recognize whoever she was waiting for, if anyone, but it would give him a good look to see if his brother or his wife walked by. Of coarse they didn't, though.
He drank a little bit from his beer but not too much. Getting drunk when you're sad was never a good idea. Drinking away your problems never solved anything.
Alex studied the woman for a few minutes. He didn't want to stare or make it noticable though so he did it in intervals. The woman was beautiful, there was no doubt about that and he wasn't even looking at her through beer goggles. She was naturally beautiful. Hopefully, as their conversation continues, she would remind him less and less of Scott's wife, Jean.

"So why are you sitting here alone? Are you waiting for someone to join you?" Alex asked her.
Theresa laughed softly at the question. She had no doubt that Tom or anyone else she came with wouldn't care what she was doing. Shaking her head, she gave him a smile and replied, “I'm just visiting Washington and tha only person I know is my cousin. Somehow I don't think he really cares what I do or where I am so no, I'm not waiting for anyone.”
The waitress came over with her new glass of soda and Theresa thanked her. She mumbled some apology about why she had avoided Theresa's table but she basically ignored the woman. There was no excuse and they both knew it. Playing with the straw in her glass, Theresa asked, “How about you? Waiting for someone to arrive or just enjoying an evening out by yuirself?”
Someone had changed the music yet again and some whiny singer came over the speaker singing about lost loves and lonely nights. It was all she could do to not moan over the horrible voice. Ever since she had gained her powers, awful singers irritated her but they seemed to be popular, no matter what country one was in. Maybe someday she would show these people what a real voice could sound like.

Alex wasn't aware that he had said anything funny but her laugh was definately welcome. It was a soothing noise that he had missed. A woman's laughter was never something he had ever wanted to forget, even though her's was just a soft chuckle at best. Terry's explainating was explained her laugh. She was having some family issues, which Alex could understand entirely but he didn't want to sit here and talk about his problems. He didn't think she really wanted to, either.
"Originally, I was here for a lecture but my plans quickly changed," Alex said after a brief moment. He was too busy admiring her accent. The thick Scottish accent from Terry was a breath of fresh air to the rather dull company that he has kept in the past few years. It kept him on his toes. This was much better than staying in his room and waiting for disappointment. "Have you seen much of the city, yet? I've only been here for a few hours so I've only seen protesters and picket lines," Alex said. Honestly, he didn't really want to be stuck in the Hotel. If he stayed at the bar, he would be drinking himself stupid and that's not what he wanted to do. He needed control of himself at all times. And it was almost about that time that he needed to unload some energies. The build up inside him was still contained. Hopefully Terry didn't feel the heat radiating from his body.
When the music changed, Alex rolled his eyes. It wasn't a good choice of music but he wasn't going to complain. In fact, there was no point in arguing over it. Drunk people had formed a dance floor with whomever they picked up for the night. Looking at terry, he could tell she needed to get her mind off of things just as much as he did.
"How about you tell me while we dance?" Alex asked her nodding up at the dance floor. It was at least an effort to keep her and his mind off of whatever was bothering them.

"How about you tell me while we dance?" Alex asked her as he motioned to the dance floor.
Dance? Theresa thought to herself. Thank God for the few social events I attended in the town before they ostracized me to the Keep. Standing up, she gave him a smile and replied with a soft laugh, "Sure, if ya don't mind an Irish lass who doesn't quite know what she's doing."
Allowing him to lead her to the dance floor, and hoping she didn't step on anyone's toes, Theresa automatically wrapped her arms his neck but kept a bit of distance between their bodies. Remembering his question, she said, "I've only been here for a short time as well. We saw a bit of tha city but nothin exciting. And I know what ya mean about the protesters. It makes me wonder why my cousin decided now was a good time ta visit."
After a short pause, she added, "What was yuir lecture about? Are you upset that it was missed?" She was having fun. It was the first time anyone had ever come up to her and asked her to dance and with Tom locked up in his room, she didn't have to worry about anyone ruining her fun. Now if only she could bring a spark of life to Alex's eyes....

Alex was happy she accepted the invitation to dance and still admiring her accent. He highly expected her to deline the offer. Standing from his seat, he gave her a smile to her explaination of her inability to dance. Alex finished his beer and set it down on the table so to keep it reserved for when they got finished on the dance floor.
"It's alright. I'm not the best dancer, either," Alex said with a sly grin. He lead her to the dance floor and found a good spot for them to make fools of themselves. Placing his hands on her waist, he lead them in their dance along to the beat of the slow song that was playing. At her answer to his previous question, he wondered what the hell he was thinking when he asked it. He wanted to get her mind off of her problems not make her think about it more.
"It was a boring lecture and I'm glad I missed it," Alex realized. He truly was glad he missed it. Seeing his brother again was much better than taking notes like he was back in college. Snapping himself out of his thought, that he was trying to forget anyways, Alex performed one of the few dance moves that he knew of to lighten the mood a little bit. Carefully, he stepped forward and dipped her. Completely surprised he didn't mess up, Alex gave her a wide grin before lifting her back up so that they can continue dancing.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist that," Alex explained but he never lost the grin. He was proud of himself for being able to pull that move off. It was something he hasn't done in so long. "Since we're not doing anything really, want to explore the city?"

Exodus walked through the main lobby masking his, Magneto's and Sabretooth's appearance. The psionic trail he was feeding off of was still fresh and he loved it. Everysecond of it! It's what he was craving for too long. There was a ton of psionic energy coming from all over the place. Exodus was in paradise. He soaked up as much of it as he could as he lead them towards their rooms.
Once he entered his room on the fourth floor, he stood in the room with his eyes shut just enjoying the presense of other psionics. Taking his uniform off, he jumped into the shower for a quick cleansing then laid down on top of the bed as he air dryed. He didn't understand what the comfortors were so he laid on top of them, still wet. He slowly drifted into slumber as his body naturally soaked up as much of the psionic energy that it could.

Theresa couldn't help but let out a small gasp of surprise when he dipped her and she tightened her arms on around his neck in a reaction to keep from falling. When he pulled her up and apologized, she laughed and said, "It was worth it ta see laughter in yuir eyes."
"Since we're not doing anything really, want to explore the city?" he asked her a bit suddenly.
Theresa blinked a few times, making sure she heard correctly. What if Tom came looking for her? What if something happened and she was needed? What if.... Theresa stopped herself. She had been told she was going to be needed until the next day so why not take advantage of some free time. Besides, if anything happened, she had her sonic voice to knock him out with. Tom did tell her that if she was in trouble at all not to hesitate to scream. Literally.
"That sounds like fun, Alex. I need ta run up ta my room and get my sweater and coat. Want me ta meet you down in the lobby or do ya want ta come with me?" It would be nice to get away from the horrible music that was playing and she would still have company. Besides, this was the first time she had ever been to the states and she wanted to explore all she could before Tom made her go back to Ireland.

Alex was glad terry was having fun. There was nothing like making a beautiful woman smile. It brought warmth to his heart to know he had done good in her life and he wasn't wasting her time. And her laugh was amazing.
Terry agreed to come out to the city, which pleased Alex. He wouldn't want to waste his time coming to the city if he couldn't do anything while he was here. This was probably the only chance he would have to explore this particular city. And why not explore with a beautiful woman he had just met. So far her personality was perfect. There was nothing but laughter, beauty, and great accent. She was like a free spirit.
Alex was completely startled at her question. Never would he have thought of her as being easy. But he thought that wasn't the case here. Losing each other through this crowd would be very easy to do and Alex knew he didn't want that. Maybe she thought the same. He was making excuses and he knew it.
"I'll follow you up so that we don't lose each other through all these people," Alex said to her hoping he explained it correctly. He didn't want her to get the wrong idea about him. He wasn't only interested in sex. But what guy would pass up this offer?

As they walked from the bar, Theresa punched the "up" button on the elevator and the door opened immediately. She couldn't get over the crowd in the lobby, even at this hour of night. People were still checking in at the desk and she briefly wondered how Tom was able to get checked in so quickly.
Pushing the button for the floor they were staying on, she looked at Alex and asked, "Don't ya need to get a coat too?" She really had no clue what she had suggested down in the bar. It was only common courtesy to not keep company waiting and she had no idea how long it would take to pull her hair back and gather her stuff. Especially if she had to wait for a bunch of people in the hallways.
As the elevator door opened, she reached for Alex's hand with all the enthusiasm of a teenager and pulled him to her door. Looking back at him, she she put her finger to her lips and said in a whisper, "That's Uncle Tom's room. I really don't want ta wake him up." She pointed to the door next to hers.
Dropping his hand, she reached into her back pocket and pulled out her key card and opened the door. Leading the way in, she dropped the card on the dresser and realized she had just dumped all the stuff she had bought in the middle of her bed. Cursing herself softly, she reached over and picked up the brush and box of ponytail holders. Looking back at Alex, she said, "Let me put my hair back and we'll be set to go. I'd offer ya a seat but the only thing ta sit on is the bed."
Then she walked into the bathroom to pull her long hair into a braid.

Getting into the rooms was the easy part. Electronic and metal locks had their advantages, especially when the latches on the window were metal. The hard part, of course, had been getting up to the window in the first place, and then inside without being heard. Magda's brand of telepathic immunity helped with that, at least, and a good thing, too. She didn't just have Xavier to deal with, and she'd known that the minute she got to the hotel. The entry was quiet, and all who needed observation were discussing in the other room when she got there.
So they knew about the attack, or suspected at least. Colonel Hamphire had wanted to know that much. Magda hung back away from the door leading out of the room she was in, a bug planted near the door transmitting the most of their conversation just fine. The small metal and electrical gadget set a terrible buzzing in her ear because of its componants, but she would live. It would also be tricky keeping that up for too long. She'd known some telepaths to be able to pick up some electrical impulses, too, so she ran the risk of at some point in time having Xavier sense the bug.
This was, of course, why she'd planted it near the lightswitch outlet, in the hopes of offsetting any unwanted signals.
There were far too many other mutants here -- many of them telepaths -- for her liking. Magda knew she was pushing her luck, frightening new employer or not, by hanging too close to the target in such a tightly knitted area. When she felt the auras of his two guests diminish, indicating an exit, she made her way lightly back to the window, and willing all her self-control, slipped outside. A fast twitch of her powers had the sliding glass shut again, though at present it left her balancing on a ledge just next to it. Thankfully, the suite was obscured mostly by a large tree, and with hope meant no one down below could have seen her while passing by.
The bug allowed her to hear Xavier as he entered the room, but most of his activity seemed restricted to some mumbles before he went into complete silence. He wasn't moving, so she guessed, by listening, that he might have been speaking to another telepath. This was, of course, until he screamed, and she hissed in pain as the sound, mixed with the already existing strain from the earpiece. She risked a glance back in the window after a moment, seeing him curled up, and she watched, waiting for him to move.
What she didn't expect was for someone else to burst in, and she pulled herself around to press her back against the wall of the building once more.
Another telepath. Perfect.

Magneto was curious about the psychic trail Exodus had found, but they could investigate the penthouse later. For now, Bennett was in no condition to be dealing with other psychics and a direct confrontation here would be detrimental to a surprise attack tomorrow if it was needed. He told Victor to go to his room and headed to his own.
Once in his room, Erik stripped off his distinctive purple and red uniform and set his helmet on a shelf in the closet. He showered, as he had not had a chance to do so in Genosha. He stared at the faded numbers on his arm and bowed his head, letting the hot water pour over him. Just because he knew he was right about the next holocaust did not mean he was pleased with it. People called him a criminal, a terrorist, but in truth, he was only trying to prevent his fellow mutants from suffering as he and the other at Auschwitz had.
Yes, people had seen the photographs and the survivors, but they had not been there. They had not suffered the humiliations, seen family and friends tortured and watched their loved ones murdered. They had not been worked like beasts and starved nearly unto death, their bodies so decimated by their suffering that they were nothing but walking skeletons. He had been a helpless boy then. He was not helpless now and would never allow this to happen again. The humans would not put them in 'containment camps' and humiliate and kill them. Not while Magneto still drew breath.
Somewhere deep in his cynical heart, Erik hoped that he would not have to take such drastic measure to ensure the future of all mutantkind. But he was not going to hope on a bunch of ignorant flatscans to be fair to them. Using his powers to shut off the water, he stepped from it. He dried himself off and dressed in a comfortable pair of slacks and a sweater. He should call Raven and let her know they had settled into the hotel.
He dialed her cell phone and waited for her to answer.

While Terry pulled Alex into her room, he was somewhat confused and completely turned on with her eagerness. But as it turned out, it was just to avoid her uncle. He kept quiet like she asked but was a bit disturbed that she didn't clear off the bed. He didn't want any hair peieces or brushes poking his ass cheek or hers. Comfortability was the best thing in this situation except he didn't want to go through her things. Alex was more of a gentleman than that. Instead he sat on the corner of the bed and waited for Terry to finish up.
Alex decided that Terry's suggestion was a good one. He would need his jacket if they were going out. The cold air still reached him through the heat he radiated from his body, which reminded him of the fact he needed to release some energy soon. That was going to be difficult to hide from her. He had to figure out a way to get away from her for a few moments just enough time for a quick plasma wave and then they can continue.
Maybe it wasn't a good idea to come here? Alex thought to himself. He definately got the wrong impression when he was asked to come to her room. Regardless, Alex fished for the keys to the rental car in his pocket and held them in his hand. He really wasn't sure what she was doing in the bathroom. If she brought him up here for casual sex then he was definately being taken off guard, if not, then they could easily stop at his room really quickly to grab his jacket. Alex was confused on what to do next, he still couldn't tell what Terry was doing. Tessa was different and he couldn't read her well. Deciding to wait and see what she does when she exits the bathroom, Alex sat there patiently waiting.

As Tom sat on the bed with his drink, he thought about how different this situation was to what he was used to. He was normally in charge, making sure everything fell in place perfectly and correcting what didn't. He found himself to be quite bored. Being an underling wasn't very fulfilling, but he could easily find something, or someone, that could be.
He walked to the closet where he hung his uniform and cursed himself for not bringing anything else. It was usually all he needed. Deciding it woud have to do, he put it back and threw his coat on over it. He felt a small buzz from the rum he had brought with him but not nearly enough to hurt his composure. The Billiards room was calling him.
As he passed Theresa's room, Tom put his ear to the door. It was quiet, so he assumed she was sleeping. He smiled and continued on his way to the billiard room. It was perfect, small bar in the corner, hanger beer lights above the two tables. He sat quietly until one of the tables finished, then grabbed a que and announced "I'll put up twenty dollars a ball against anyone in tha room." As he grabbed everyone's attention, one man accepted his offer. Before he could say anything else, Tom took over the ball and said "Great, I'll break."
He began the game slowly, he could have easly ran the table but they may be some bigger fish in the room. He loved the big hustle, and one reared it's head, Tom would happily take it. Even thought he was going easy on the guy, Tom never lost control of the game. He also began to eye a young blonde woman watching from te bar. She was real target for the night.

Theresa brushed through her hair and pulled it back in a long, loose braid. She had learned long ago that no matter how tightly she braided it, it still managed to come loose and pieces of hair would fall around her face. After wrapping the band around the bottom, she walked out of the bathroom and saw that Alex had taken a seat on the bed anyway.
Walking over to where she had dumped her sweater earlier, she picked up the navy blue item and slipped it over her head, pulling her braid out from under it. If she had her regular winter coat, she wouldn't have had to deal with the sweater but with the cloak, she needed the extra layer.
Picking up the key card that she had thrown on the dresser, she put it in her back pocket and looked over at Alex. "Sorry it's a bit of a mess in here. We left without much warning and I dinna get ta pack anything," she apologized. If her house back in Ireland looked this disorganized, she usually had a fit and flew about tidying up. However, it just wouldn't be seemly to fly around her hotel room with Alex there.
Taking her cloak off the hanger where she had finally put it, she draped it over her arm and noticed the keys in Alex's hands. Walking back over to him, she sat down next to him and said with a huge smile, "Ya have yuir own car here? Oh, that will be so much better than walking in this cold weather."
