Kitty looked up. "Oh, hello Pete!" She looked back down at the cookbook. "Yeah we're trying to find something but everything is so complicated. You're doing three things at once. We would need Multiple for an opperation like this." She pointed to an upside down pinnaple cake recipe. "You're making the icing, spread, pinnaple mixture and slicing the cake all at once!"
Leaning back in the chair she looked down dejected at the book.
"What are you doing in?"

"I'm just fixing me a simple sandwich. Nothing complicated about that. Would you like me to make you one." Peter took out a knife from the drawer and took out the mayo. "I make a mean sandwich."

Kitty laughed at Petes humor.
"No, I really want to make something for dinner or just something people can pick at for the next four days then contribute in the Christmas feast."
Lockheed chirped and Kitty turned. There on the page was simple grilled chicken.
"Lockheed you're a genius!" She patted his head. "Would you like to help Pete or are you busy? You know how I am around fires."

Setting the sandwich aside, Peter turned around and walked to the counter where Kitty was. "Sure, count me in." He looked at what she decided to cook. "As a matter of fact, chicken sounds better than a sandwich." He helped gather some ingredients for the chicken. "Lets get started."

"Right."
Kitty smiled, she was glad Pete had said yes, she didn't know how she would have managed without him. She got out a bowl for the flour mixture and the frying pan for frying the chicken.
"Here, you have to put the flour, pepper, and salt in this bowl."

"Okay, the pepper, flour, and salt go in here." Pete dumped the ingredients into the bowl and waited for what to add next.
He was glad that he went back inside and found Kitty, she put a little happiness into him, to replace the brief sadness he had for his sister. He pushed the sadness back and smiled as he stood there with her.
"What goes next, Kitty?"

She walked in, simultaneously removing the last of her long-sleeved shirts, and almost bumped into Peter.
"Sorry, hon." She pulled the sleeves off and threw the shirt on the chair, reminding herself to get some long gloves from her room. Looking down at her arm, she smiled. She liked her tattoo, and she was sort of upset that she wasn't able to show it off too much anymore. She looked down at the table and noticed Lockheed.
"Kitty, if your dragon takes a crap on my shirt, Ah might have to kill it." She looked at him again, noticing that he was making some kind of face at her. "Yeah, Ah'm talkin' about you, Lockheed."

Kitty had just looked down at the page to see what went in next when Rogue came in.
"Yeah, well careful you don't antagonate him or he just might. Mind you he has a will of his own, think he owns me sometimes."
Looking back at the page she scanned for her place.
"Ok, Pete now we got to put the chicken in the bowl and cover it in flour. I think we can do them all now and just put them on a plate."

The cold outside had put her in the mood for a cup of tea so Betsy made her way to the kitchen. She felt the others inside before she actually entered so she wasn't terribly surprised to see them. Smiling yet not saying anything, she walked over to the cupboard and pulled out the tea kettle. Filling it with water, she placed it on the stove top and turned on the eye.
Once that was done, she grabbed a mug and poured a bit of cream in it from the fridge then pulled a tea bag out of a drawer. That done, she leaned against the table and waited for the kettle to whistle.

She sighed and grabbed her shirt from the table, tying it around her waist instead. Grabbing a soda from the refrigerator, she smiled at Betsy and sat down at the table.
"Is it sanitary for him to be sittin' here? Ah mean... lizards carry salmonella, don't they?"
She smiled at Lockheed, knowing that he understood every word of what she'd said. With any luck, she could rile him to the point where he'd try to burn her. Normally, she wouldn't pick on animals, but she knew that Lockheed was much more than just an animal.

Lockheed ruffled his wings and settled onto the table facing Rogue as if he were a cat getting ready to pounce.
"He is perfectly fine Rogue, he's often helped me make the sandwhiches we've had on picnics. Besides, you're immortal it wouldn't hurt you if he did."
Lockheed nodded his head in approval but still glared at Rogue.

"Okay, the chicken in the flour, got it." Peter placed the chicken in the flour and distributed the flour evenly acroos the chicken. "What is the next step in the receipt?" He glanced at Kitty who was talking to Rogue who was having a disagreement with Lockheed.

"Oh, sorry Pete, here you're going to put the chicken in this frying pan."
Kitty poured about an inch of cooking oil in the pan and put it on the stove. going back to the recipie she slammed her hands down in disgust.
"this is great! they just tell you to cook the chicken till golden brown! No stove temperature or setting! how do they expect people to cook anything if they don't tell them how!"

Seeing her in discouraged, Peter tried to cheer her up. "Well if we burn it, just give it to Lockheed. He is like a moblie disposal unit." He tried to enlighten the mood but to him he seemed to not do anything. "Well, we should just keep checking on it and make sure that it doesn't get burned."

Rogue smiled a little bit as the two of them talked about chicken. Chicken, of all things... She leaned in towards Lockheed and whispered something, sitting back and looking smug. When Lockheed made a strange, almost chirp-like noise in reply, she laughed. He seemed to agree with her. Standing up, she picked up her soda and headed towards the door.
"Good luck with the chicken."
