Exodus stayed in contact with Black Tom throughout his conversation with Theresa. With every passing moment, he was losing more and more respect for the man but he did start with very little in the first place. The man cried, it was a pathetic sight really but what really got to Exodus was Black Tom telling Theresa that she was free from responsibility. He was sure Magneto would not be pleased. She knew too much to be backing out now and now she had permission. Absolutely unexcusable.
With the woman's awaken state, she surveyed the room and saw the shattered television. Exodus didn't realize he made so much noise and almost felt like he failed his mission. Of coarse, that passed very quickly since the woman was never in any danger. His mission was to protect not to keep her happy. The woman never spoke, she just entered the bathroom and Exodus heard the shower running. He resumed checking up on the conversation between Black Tom and Theresa. Theresa's questioning made Exodus smile. Exodus was to blame for Black Tom's knowledge of where to find her but of coarse, Black Tom proved to be severely disappointing.
As Black Tom approached closer to the Magneto's door, Exodus saw the visions that Black Tom was pushing through his mind. It was an obvious distraction but Exodus was too good of a telepath to not push past it and see deeper into the man's thoughts. The door lock was picked and Exodus did nothing to stop him from entering and taking a seat across the room. All he did was watch him as he made himself comfortable. If Magneto found out that Black Tom released Theresa of her services then there will be many questions that Black Tom would have to answer. Black Tom sat comfortably with his cane under one hand, pointed directly at Exodus, as the two men stared each other down. Neither man blinked or backed down. There stubborness to backdown withheld even after Black Tom spoke.
“Having fun, are we?” Black Tom asked emotionlessly. Exodus remembered how he used his mutant powers through his cane. He wondered if he could use them otherwise. Not taking any chance to break out into a fight while he was on a personal mission, Exodus wrapped a telekinetic bubble over his cane and strapped the shillelagh securely to the arm of the chair. There was no way Black Tom could move it or fire a blast at Exodus. The room was now secure once again despite Black Tom's presence.
"At your expense, Black Tom, of coarse," Exodus said but never took his eyes off of the man. There was no doubt that he had some tricks up his sleave but Exodus had a firm grasp on him and there will not be any violence in the lord Magneto's room, even though it is just rented. Exodus just continued the stare down with Black Tom and waited patiently for him to get to the point of his visit.

Tom suddenly felt his cane pull down tightly against the fabric of the chair. Exodus apparently though he was here to cause trouble. That wasn't a mistake he would make again. Pulling his arms up in the seat, he let his elbows rest on the arm rest and let his hands push against each other in what executives call a power teepee. He stayed silent, for no other reason than to annoy Exodus.
They were apparently in some kind of staring contest, which was fine with him. He had been in many before. The eyes could give a way so much about a person. That's where any experienced grifter lived at, in the eyes, watching for changes, movements, fear. Feeling that he'd been silent long enough, Tom said "Ya know, I've come ta expect a certain amount of disrespect from young people such as yuirself. I usually break their thumbs. There's a reason I haven't broken yuir's yet. Professionalism. Are yuir petty vendetta's so important that you would screw all of us just ta get yuir way?"

Quickly, she morphed her hand and slid it into the lock, easily popping it open. She opened the door and raised an eyebrow. Exodus seemed to be having tea with an odd little Irishman. As strange as it was, she wasn't completely surprised. Closing the door behind her, she turned to Exodus. "Is Erik back yet?"
As her eyes ran over the room, she noticed that the bathroom door was closed and the sound of running water could be heard from behind it. She leaned against the wall, having decided that she wasn't going to leave until she got some answers. "Where is Erik, who is this man, and who is in the bathroom?"
Exodus was lower than her, nothing more than another one of Magneto's pawns. If he thought that he was going to be able to keep her out of the loop, he had another thing coming.

The staring contest continued as both Exodus and Black Tom sat in silence. Exodus felt no need to start any conversation with the man, it was pointless and if he had the choice, he wouldn't. His glare stayed firm and his silence was going to remain unless there was reason to speak.
"Ya know, I've come ta expect a certain amount of disrespect from young people such as yuirself. I usually break their thumbs. There's a reason I haven't broken yuir's yet. Professionalism. Are yuir petty vendetta's so important that you would screw all of us just ta get yuir way?" Black Tom finally said breaking the silence. All Exodus can do is shake his head at the man's ignorance. He just didn't get it and probably wouldn't either.
"What you do not understand, Black Tom, is that when I am in meditation, I am in connection with almost every person in this building, including you and including Theresa. I thought that it was in your best interest to know what your partner was doing," Exodus explained vaguely. No more explaination was needed, or give. If Black Tom didn't understand or if he disagreed with it then it was above his head and Exodus was not going to be the one to explain it to him. "You have taken great interest in Theresa's participation in the Brotherhood and I will warn you now..." Exodus trailed off as he sensed the familiar presence of someone in the hallway. It was Mystique and she wasn't too pleased. She let herself in and Exodus did nothing to stop her.
"Is Erik back yet? Where is Erik, who is this man, and who is in the bathroom?" Mystique asked a flurry of question upon entering the room. Exodus sat there momentarily, only to study the workings of her mind. It was a shape-shifter's ability that they can keep a telepath busy for hours with their ever changing brains.
"Lord Magneto has not returned, yet, Mystique," Exodus informed her. The first question out of the way right off. The other two would be harder to explain. "The woman in the shower is a friend to Lord Magneto and she is also under my personal protection," Exodus continued as he sat motionless on the chair. It was comfortable position and he didn't want to move unless it was necessary. "As for this man. His name is Black Tom and he will now be involved with the Brotherhood's plans. I believe he was about to leave," Exodus said making his point. He explained what he could and that's all he was going to be saying. Mystique was going to have to accept the answers to her questions, as well. In all honesty, Exodus didn't know when Magneto would be returning, he really didn't know who the woman in the shower was, and Black Tom was going to be causing more trouble than helping the cause.

Exodus explained his reasons, betraying nothing in his eyes. This lead tom to belive one of two things. He was either lying or he was rationalyzing so he didn't have to admit guilt over trying to expose the Brotherhood. It didn't really matter, Tom knew the reasons behind Exodus's actions.
As Tom was about to reply, the sounds of the door being unlocked filled the room. He watched as a woman walked in. Her blue skin was off-putting at first but he quickly moved past it, to her magnificent body. As she questioned Exodus, Tom silently analyzed her form from top to bottom and back again with his eyes.
Instinctively grabbing his cane, it was still glued down by Exodus. He stood up without it, and walked to Mystique. "Black Tom Cassidy." he corrected Exodus, smiling confidently at Mystique. Her eyes were bathed in experience. He knew his usual charms wouldn't work on this one, which was very unfortunate. Turning back to Exodus, Tom said "Theresa is no longer yuir concern. As I'm sure ya already know, she's not with us anymore."

She frowned at Exodus, trying to figure out exactly what his game was. Maybe she was being paranoid, but anyone who was that calm all the time had to have something up their sleeve. And knowing the company that Magneto kept (what with being the company that Magneto kept), she had a feeling that it was more than just a facade. It wouldn't surprise her one bit if the man decided one day that he was going to head a mutiny. But she'd be ready.
Turning to the other man, she raised an eyebrow and extended her hand. "Mystique." Full introductions could be made later, perhaps once she figured out exactly who had greenlit the new memberships and why she hadn't been informed. Speaking of which... "Moss is also no longer with us. He... died tragically on the way here." It was a downright lie, and she was sure that Exodus could see through it. This Tom man, though... possibly not. "However, there is a new boy who so boldly tried to break into my apartment. He has enhanced hearing. He will make a more than adequate replacement for the weed."

Magneto opened the door to his room, finding that the lock had been tampered with, more than once. Rage instantly filled him. He'd told Exodus to make certain Magda was not disturbed. This was not a time for his most loyal valuable follower to start disobeying simple orders. He stepped into the room just behind Raven, scowling.
"Moss is also no longer with us. He... died tragically on the way here," Mystique was telling Black Tom and Exodus. Why was half the Brotherhood in his room? He did not care that Weed was gone. He'd been Raven's lap dog, and of no use to Magnus. "However, there is a new boy who so boldly tried to break into my apartment. He has enhanced hearing. He will make a more than adequate replacement for the weed."
"I pray that this one will be more useful to the rest of us than the weed was, Raven," he commented dryly, making his presence known, not that the others had not noticed him already.
"Why are all of you in my room?" The question was not directed at anymore in particular, but his gaze fell on Exodus. This was not his idea of making certain Magda was not disturbed and his follower would know that.

"Theresa is no longer yuir concern. As I'm sure ya already know, she's not with us anymore," Black Tom informed Exodus. Exodus had a different thought about it but he was going to wait to see what Magneto had to say about it. He was sure that his lord and master was not going to take that news well.
"Moss is also no longer with us. He... died tragically on the way here," Mystique explained after a brief introduction to Black Tom. It was a complete lie. Even though Mystique's mind was hard to "However, there is a new boy who so boldly tried to break into my apartment. He has enhanced hearing. He will make a more than adequate replacement for the weed," Mystique continued to explain. How can a man with enhanced hearing be of any use? Exodus wondered but the decision wasn't up to him. Magneto's presence was drawing closer and he knew that he wasn't going to be too happy with everyone in his room.
"I pray that this one will be more useful to the rest of us than the weed was, Raven," Magneto said after entering his room. "Why are all of you in my room?" Magneto asked towards Exodus who still sat calmly. It wasn't his choice that these people came to visit.
"Black Tom was just leaving," Exodus said once again but this time released the hold on his cane. He would need it for later. "Mystique would like your council and your friend has not been disturbed as you asked, my leige," Exodus informed him. "She has been in the shower since these two have been here," Exodus added in. Hopefully, Magneto would take his word since there was other business to attend to. "And also, Black Tom has decided that his partner, Thesa will not be joining us in our mission."

She turned as Erik walked in, glad that someone who had half a clue was finally in the room. Waiting, she fought back the anger that was rising. All of you. As if she was on the same level as his flunkies. His room wouldn't be his room if she hadn't done the planning for it, hadn't had the connections and ability to get the space at such short notice. How dare he even suggest that Exodus and this Black Tom were her equals?
She frowned as she turned to Magneto. "I'll need a word with you. In private."

Magneto was decidedly disappointed in Exodus' response. "Black Tom was just leaving. Mystique would like your council and your friend has not been disturbed as you asked, my liege. She has been in the shower since these two have been here. And also, Black Tom has decided that his partner, Theresa will not be joining us in our mission." It was a lot of useless excuses. Luckily for Bennett, Erik had more pressing problems than his lack of ability to follow simple orders.
He pushed off the doorway. "That will be all, Exodus," he said tersely. He glared at Black Tom for a moment, wondering why all times did he think it was appropriate for his cousin to back out now. "And please inform Miss Cassidy, due to the dire nature of the situation, that she will be needed. I am beginning a few alliances and we will need everyone we can gather to accomplish our goals. Good evening, Mr. Cassidy."
"I'll need a word with you. In private." Raven sounded annoyed. Magnus really didn't care, but the woman was competent and deadly and probably the only person in the world he truly respected besides Charles Xavier. His steely blue eyes moved to the closed bathroom door.
"Of course Raven," he agreed readily enough. "Please, have a seat." He decided not to say anything about Magda. The less Mystique knew about her, the less she could use her against him. He crossed to the table and waited for Exodus and Black Tom to leave and Mystique to get to the point.

"That will be all, Exodus," Magneto said to him. He didn't need telepathy to tell he was disappointed in the outcome of the mission. Exodus failed. Standing up from his chair, he caught what was said to Black Tom before he exited the room. "And please inform Miss Cassidy, due to the dire nature of the situation, that she will be needed. I am beginning a few alliances and we will need everyone we can gather to accomplish our goals. Good evening, Mr. Cassidy," the master of magnetism said to the man. Exodus knew it was coming and released the telekinetic hold on Black Tom's cane. Magneto can easily defeat the man if he decided to attack him. On his way out of the door, he smiled to himself, thinking that Black Tom's membership in the Brotherhood was going to be a short one.

She frowned. "I'll stand." Glancing at Black Tom, she shrugged. If he wanted to stay around, that was fine with her. She walked toward Magneto and looked him directly in the eye. "I thought that we had agreed to keep each other updated on any important events? Then I come here looking for you and find your little personal butler, who refuses to tell me so much as whether you're still living or not." She turned to Tom and then back at Magneto. "And now it seems as if you've bolstered our ranks without informing me. And God knows who your little visitor is in the shower, but Erik, we came here to get a job done, not to fool around. You of all people should know that."
She backed up a bit, the frustration of the situation really starting to get to her. Taking a deep breath, she turned to the door. "I refuse to be treated as just another one of your disposable lackeys." Taking a step, she wasn't entirely sure if she was going to actually storm out of the room or not.

Erik watched Raven throw her little fit, doing his best not to shake his head or even laugh. Mystique was not one to lecture him on recruiting Brotherhood members nor 'distractions'. Her last statement did make him shake his head. Was she so insecure that she truly thought Magneto considered her merely a lackey? It baffled the mind.
"Raven, you are overreacting," he informed her. "One, you would have been present when Mr. Cassidy and his cousin joined our ranks, if you had not been in New York 'fooling around', as you so indelicately put it. And please do not lecture me about bringing in new members behind your back when you choose to recruit a child who tried to break into your apartment without asking me. Your lack of high ground on either point is sorely lacking."
Magneto steepled his fingers in front of him. "Where I was, was speaking to Charles Xavier," he informed her, refusing to further acknowledge the person in the shower. It was none of Mystique's business. "He is willing to compromise his morals for the greater good of mutantkind. He personally invited Emma Frost here to help out with this problem. I was planning on speaking to you about this when you arrived. Since you are here, now we can discuss our plans and how far we wish to ally ourselves with the X-Men and the White Queen. And I can tell you what I have learned whilst I have been here."
Hopefully, his response would quell Mystique's temper tantrum. As she said, they had work to do and didn't have time for her fits of bruised ego because he had started working on their mission before she'd arrived and hadn't seen the necessity in informing her of every little movement or decision he made. He was not her lackey either.

Tom was actually quite surprised at how well Magneto took the news of Theresa leaving. He had a whole speech mapped out. He still didn’t dismiss her, though his reasons were another surprise. It didn’t matter to very much to him. His cause wasn’t Magneto’s. Tom just avoided the argument as these two seemed to be in the middle of a lover’s quarrel.
Neither one of them waited for him to actually leave the room before their conversation began. As he walked over to the chair to get his cane, Tom listened closely. They were allying with the X-Men? That’s pretty much the exact opposite of what he expected when he was offered a spot in the brotherhood. As he left the room something else hit him. That guy earlier, said the was Alex’s brother. He had a fighter’s build, and wore a red visor. Ah Hell, Theresa’s new boy-toy is an X-Man. the thought finally hit him. This was going to cause so many problems. If she joined up with them, they were sure to bash heads regularly.

She frowned, anger really starting to set in. "Fooling around? Erik, you know why I was in New York, and you know that I never intended for Miguel to follow me. Hell, that's why he's dead. As for Ear, he's just a kid. I brought him along to teach him a lesson, even before I found out that he was a mutant."
She turned and paced slightly, fuming. Fooling around. The words still stung, since the last thing on her mind when she was in New York was anything remotely similar to that. Finally registering the rest of his little speech, she turned. "They're both here? The X-Men and the White Queen?"
((OOC: We're pretty much just waiting on this thread to realign the time since it's off quite a bit in Washington, so if you just want to sort of glaze over the actual details, that's fine.))
