Belladonna watched Theresa in amusement as she walked out to the pool. The day was absolutely beautiful, not even Bella could find fault with it. The sun shone down brightly and everything seemed right with the world.
One thing about Terry that Belladonna absolutely despised (and oh boy...there were many) was that she always sought attention. Watching her carefully, she sneered as the girl dived off the spring board.
She was good...maybe that's what Bella hated the most. The girl was obviously talented...and what did Bella have?
She struck that from her mind quickly as the girl strode up to her. “Wait till I leave, then ya'll get what ya came for. I'll only be around a couple days at most.” Bella's lips curled into a little sneer...why that insolent little...
She checked her emotions...what good would physical revenge do? She could hurt her more emotionally. "Oh I don' worry 'bout dat Terry...if we wanted to...well, ya know" She gesticulated in a VERY unladylike fashion. "Den we would jus' go do it at my house."
Still, Tom felt a need to jump in...always the protector. Honestly, Bella didn't know if he was protecting Terry from her or vice versa. “Bella and I aren’t lovers, Theresa, never have been.” She smirked, "Dat's not likely to change any time soon...unless ya want a little niece or nephew."
Taking the daiquiri from Madison, she gave her a slight nod. "Merci..." she said coolly and took a sip. "As soon as I get nice an' drunk, we can get at dat Tom."

Terry could tell from the look on Tom's face that he had seen the dive and had admired it. She'd always made sure he sat in the same place at each competition and after each dive, no matter how brilliant or how crummy, she'd look over at him. She could always tell by the look on his face exactly how she'd done, not how the judges felt she'd done. And he was proud of what he had just seen. It was a bit of a heartbreaker to know she'd never compete in diving again but her life was moving on to bigger and better things. At least, she hoped it did soon. The idea of running around with Tom's Mauraders, whom she was not supposed to even know about, had turned sour the moment Bella had walked through the door.
Her hands dry now, she took the soda from Madison and tried to keep from wrinkling up her nose. Leave it to Tom, who would let any other female over the age of eighteen to drink in his house, to not allow his own daughter to have something stronger then a soda. If only he knew some of the things she had done while at the Academy. He'd probably send her back to Ireland and lock her in one of the towers in the Keep. Taking a sip of the soda, she listened as Bella practically snorted a reply, "Oh I don' worry 'bout dat Terry...if we wanted to...well, ya know, den we would jus' go do it at my house."
Oh, yeah, this woman had real class. Obscene gestures and all. It was no wonder she was sleeping alone at night. What man would want to crawl into bed with a woman who had the manners of a swine? Before Terry could reply, Tom jumped in, obviously wanting to save the bitch's butt before Terry could chew it out and said, “Bella and I aren’t lovers, Theresa, never have been.”
Like that really surprised her after watching Bella all these years. The woman probably needed sex more then she realized if her and Tom weren't sleeping together. If nothing else, she might smile and crack that face of hers. Bella went all dramatic on her, like it was even possible for the woman to be more dramatic, and said, "Dat's not likely to change any time soon...unless ya want a little niece or nephew. As soon as I get nice an' drunk, we can get at dat Tom."
Terry pretended to think about that for a moment, feigning hurt in the words that were obviously supposed to mean something. She couldn't help but think this woman already had to be drunk. Didn't she know anything about her and Tom's relationship? Pretending a compromising sigh, Terry said, “Well, that would be impossible now, wouldn't it? In order ta give me a niece or nephew, I'd have ta be Tom's sister. Since he is my father, I'll settle for a little brother. I've always wanted one. Then again, that would make him related ta me, wouldn't it. Think it's worth tha trouble, Ms. Boudreaux?”
Setting her drink down on a patio table, Terry gave Bella a curious look, as if something had just entered her mind about the platinum haired beauty. “Ya know, maybe if ya did have sex once in a while, ya could get rid of that broomstick that's up yuir ass,” she said, her voice dripping in sweetness.

Tom rolled his eyes as the two women continued to bicker. Perhaps he should just let the fight it out. At least then, maybe they could settle something instead of just trading insults. But then one of them would get hurt, and having to separate two pissed off, incredibly powerful women was not a job he wanted. None of the staff could do it. They were mostly human. Besides, Bella would turn on them just as quick as she would any person on the street, which would only anger Theresa even more. Uhh, Why couldn't they just get along?
"As soon as I get nice an' drunk, we can get at dat Tom." Tom's gaze turned to Bella in disbelief. He honestly didn't know if this was just an idle threat or not. She had been loyal to her deadbeat husband as long as he'd known her, but she was also the sort that would do it just for spite. Most likely, she was just trying to anger Theresa even more. It was almost an insult meant for him, now that he thought about it. She had to be drunk to sleep with him? If Tom didn't know Bella like he did, and wasn't so shallow, he might have taken offense to that.
“Ya know, maybe if ya did have sex once in a while, ya could get rid of that broomstick that's up yuir ass.” His gaze turned back to Theresa. It was obvious they weren't going to stop at this point. Tom just sat back and sipped at his drink as the entertainment in the situation slowly faded away, replaced by tension. He tipped his cold drink back and things run their coarse. These two were going to fight whether he wanted them to or not.

Belladonna was in her element now. If this little girl thought she could take on the reigning queen and win, she had another thing coming. “Well, that would be impossible now, wouldn't it? In order ta give me a niece or nephew, I'd have ta be Tom's sister. Since he is my father, I'll settle for a little brother. I've always wanted one. Then again, that would make him related ta me, wouldn't it. Think it's worth tha trouble, Ms. Boudreaux?”
Now THAT was something she could do. Smiling coldly, she moved closer to Tom. For as much as they knew her...they didn't know how far she would go for spite. The girl wasn't done yet though, she was about to give Bella a reason to pull out the big guns. “Ya know, maybe if ya did have sex once in a while, ya could get rid of that broomstick that's up yuir ass,” That was too far; Tom may have known every little detail of Bella's life...but he didn't know how very far she would go to hurt those who hurt her.
And now...the kidding gloves were OFF.
"You know, we're practically family...you cen' jus' call me Bella or mom." She said, dropping the anger. If Terry thought she was a horrible bitch when she was angry...she was about to find out how the phrase 'Kill them with kindness' was a zillion times worse.
Moving over toward Tom, Bella snaked her arms around him waist and leaned on him ever so slightly. It was difficult, but she was able to drop the cold facade she exuded for this pourpose. Her crystal eyes shone with a plethora of emotions that never were outwardly seen: compassion, care and even sadness.
"A brother, oui?" She asked, her voice was a gentle whisper as she leaned into Tom, look deep into Theresa's eyes. "I think we can do dat."

She was making Tom uncomfortable and that was never Terry's intention. This was his home, where he should be the most comfortable as he could be anywhere and Terry's intrusion had just erased that. Granted, she didn't feel like she had intruded, Bella had but she wasn't about to make him chose between his daughter and his friend. Although the broomstick comment was fun and it was one she was certainly going to remember when she went back to the Academy. There were a few classmates it could apply to as well.
Bella's lack of respect for both of them still irritated her to no end but she didn't get as far in the Academy as she had by giving in to petty arguments. Well, mostly, anyway. She could put up with garbage like this in her own dorm hallway. Did that mean that Bella acted like nothing better then a teenager? Perhaps, but Terry was still better then her. Always had been, always would be.
Walking over to the woman who had done a complete about face and was now quite willing to sleep with Tom, Terry said quietly, “Ya know, I came here, ta my home ta spend time with my father. I get very little time off from my work and this is my vacation. If ya want ta intrude on that, be my guest, as long as Tom wants ya here. However, I do not have ta put up with yuir pettiness in my own home.”
Turning to Tom, she continued, her voice taking on a tone that expressed the love she had for the man who had raised her since infancy. “I am going ta go change and spend time catching up with tha staff. If ya get some free time, come find me and we can get caught up on what has been happening at tha Academy,” she said to him. Since he was sitting down, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. “It's good ta be home again, Tom, no matter who I have ta share it with.”
Without another word, Terry turned away from both of them and walked back into the house. Bella wasn't worth her time or energy and the only use that Terry could see for the woman was to help keep her own tongue sharp until she returned to school. Closing the door to her room softly, she stripped out of her wet bathing suit and stepped into the shower that was in the bathroom that was adjoined to her bedroom. If by walking away Bella thought she had won the argument, so be it. The next move was Tom's anyway. He knew how they felt about each other, he'd always known it.
Her shower over, she dressed casually in short jean shorts and a halter top that rested above the waistline of her shorts. Slipping a pair of black sandals on her feet, Terry left her room in search of some of the older staff, ready to get caught up on the house gossip.

Tom kept himself from glaring as the two continued their petty argument. Bella continued to cozy up to him and as much as Tom liked the action, he didn't let it show. Yes, he wanted to sleep with her, always had since the moment they met, but not at the expense of his relationship with Theresa. It wasn't that important, especially since there wasn't any shortage of women in and out of his bed.
"You know, we're practically family...you cen' jus' call me Bella or mom," Bella said, her voice uncommonly sweet. That was all it took to pull that last nerve of Tom's. Fighting with Theresa was one thing, she could fight back. But disrespecting Maeve's memory was something he couldn't stand for. He was in the process of standing up to walk away from Bella when Theresa turn over completely. She was either taking the high road or was just as upset Bella's comment as he was. “I am going ta go change and spend time catching up with tha staff. If ya get some free time, come find me and we can get caught up on what has been happening at tha Academy,” Why did that sound so much like a challenge to him? Probably because he suddenly felt guilty over letting this go to the point it did. She kissed him on the cheek, which eased his feelings some. For someone so cold, Tom had to admit that girl could always pull his heartstrings.
“It's good ta be home again, Tom, no matter who I have ta share it with.” Tom watched her walk away, then turned an angry gaze on Bella. It was unfair to expect her to understand what Meave meant to Tom since he never told her, but that didn't make him any less angry. However, before he could say anything, Madison walked up and announced that the computer in his office was beeping. That could only mean the motion sensor camera at the hideaway. Greatful for the distraction, Tom stood up and simply walked back inside, saying nothing to Bella. It was a courtesy he didn't extend to many people, but he didn't have many friends and preferred to keep the one he did have.
Walking into his office, he left the door open if Bella wanted to follow. This certainly affected her as well. Tom's computer had a direct link to the technology inside the hideaway. While it wasn't able to perform all the tasks the main computer could, it did allow him access to all the systems inside for monitoring purposes. After entering his password, Tom checked the security cameras. It was Mortimer Toynbee, Tom received his files a few days earlier. Seems he was used to Red Guard life, where they lived at Triskellion. If Mortimer didn't have a house or apartment, he needed one. Tom wiped the dust off the lens to his monitor mounted Camera and made sure the microphone was on before pressing the button that controlled the main view screen at the hideaway. "Mr. Toynbee, I see ya found yuir way in with no problems. Most would just walk by and assume they have the wrong address."

Belladonna didn't have to say anything...she had effectually alienated herself from Tom, at least for a few hours but Theresa physically angered her. “Ya know, I came here, ta my home ta spend time with my father. I get very little time off from my work and this is my vacation. If ya want ta intrude on that, be my guest, as long as Tom wants ya here. However, I do not have ta put up with yuir pettiness in my own home.”
And Theresa turned and walked away. NOBODY turned and walked away from Belladonna Boudreaux. Tom was glaring at her angrily, but it didn't even bother her anymore. She gave as good as she got...this was ample payback for the 'sexually active' comment.
Speaking of sexually active... Belladonna thought wickedly. A million different ways to make the girl so uncomfortable and fearful that she might never want to be near a man again.
It didn't even faze her when Tom left...she stood there for a moment, downing her drink. Alcohol in her veins would just make the next few minutes even MORE enjoyable.
Very gently, she tossed her blonde hair, making sure everything was pristine and in place. It was back to black with Miss Boudreaux (or rather, Mrs. Lebeau).
Stepping through the archway, she headed for the kitchen. If the little girl wasn't there herself, one of those vile servants could tell her where she had gone.
Being one of Tom's only friends had it's advantages for both of them...but hers was more along the lines of an escape from reality. Now, it was reality once again and she steeled herself against the anger roiling in her stomach.
Yes, she'd fix this little girl...and that was just the half of it.
Pushing open the heavy door to the kitchen, she smirked. This was going to be like cooking a hot dog with a forest fire.

Terry found Madison in the kitchen, washing up dishes from Tom's late breakfast. Pulling over a stool from the kitchenette bar, she did what she had done since Madison began working for Tom. She set the stool next to the sink and sat down on it. The woman gave her a friendly smile, knowing why Terry was there. “What can I do for ye, lass?” she asked, her voice taking on a bit of Tom and Theresa's Irish accent as she talked. It was almost as if she knew how much Terry missed Ireland at times and she wanted to make her feel better.
“Oh, nothing much, Maddy,” Theresa began, using the nickname that she had christened the woman with years ago. “I was just wondering how things are going around here. Tom looks healthy and happy for tha most part. How are things with tha rest of tha staff?”
It was the same questions she asked every time she came home for a visit. Since it had been four months since she had last seen everyone, Terry expected to be there for a while talking with Madison. The woman never spoke with malice about anyone, just gave Theresa the facts with her own little flavor of humor. “Well, your father isn't around too much these days, spending them at his office and coming home at night. He works himself hard, sometimes too hard in my opinion, but he's still a healthy man, he can handle it,” Maddy began with a smile. It was obvious to anyone how much Madison liked her employer and enjoyed working in his house.
Maddy continued, “We have a new girl who does the housekeeping. She's okay but not nearly as thorough as I would like to see. I've had to shoo her out of your room a couple of times now because she tends to linger there too long for my liking.”
Terry frowned. She was never comfortable with anyone in her room while she was away at school. It wasn't that she had anything to hide in there but she did have her special treasures that had been left to her by her mother and if something happened to those, someone would die. She may not have remembered Maeve but she was still the woman who gave birth to her and Tom had made sure that Terry grew up knowing how much her mother had loved and adored her, even after Terry's father left them.
“If she does it again, tell Tom. Ya know how I feel about people in my room and although I can't prevent it since it needs ta be dusted and such, I am not comfortable with people who spend more time then necessary there,” Theresa simply told Madison.
Before Madison could reply, Bella came into the room looking like the cat who ate the canary. She most definitely that she had “won” the battle earlier and Terry really didn't care. She had seen Tom go into his office on her way to the kitchen so Terry just said nonchalantly, “Tom went in his office. He's probably expecting ya.” Then she turned back to Maddy to keep talking.

Belladonna wasn't shocked by her location at all...Tom had often spoken about how Terry was close to Madison and how female influence was important in her life.
Well Terry was about to get some female influence alright. If Bella wanted to impart anything on the little girl, it was going to stick.
“Tom went in his office. He's probably expecting ya.” Then she turned back to Maddy to keep talking. Bella closed the kitchen door behind her. "Dat's okay, I'm lookin fer you." For once, her voice held none of the biting edge it usually took on.
Looking over at Maddy, she gave her a little nod. "I gotta talk to dis' one alone...Partir!" Even if the woman didn't understand that 'Partir' meant 'Go away' in Bella's native language, she would understand the tone that Belladonna took. It clearly wasn't one that said 'have a seat and listen in'.
Belladonna wanted Theresa all by herself when this little lecture went down.
Without waiting, she pulled a matching stool from the kitchenette and sat facing Terry. If this was going to work, she had to prostrate herself on a silver platter. "I jus' wanna say, before dis' get nasty, dat' I'm sorry. You're Tom's daughter an' Bella had no right to say dose' t'ings to you."
If the girl didn't think her apology was sincere...that was her problem, but Belladonna continued. "Deres' some t'ings dat you gotta know before you head off ta the Red Guard...t'ings dat Tom can' talk to ya about."
Her blazing blue eyes said it all...yes, this was going to be a nice little chat about sex.

"Dat's okay, I'm lookin fer you,” Bella informed her as she let the kitchen door close behind her. Glancing over at Madison, Bella added, "I gotta talk to dis' one alone...Partir!"
Oh, that was real nice. Just because Madison was part of the hired help didn't mean she was any less feeling. Terry didn't say anything but glared at Bella for her rudeness while Madison walked out of the room. She would no doubt be letting Tom know what was going on as the woman tended to look after her like a child still. “Ya have me alone now, what's this all about?” Terry asked, her voice edgy and guarded. Bella may be Tom's friend and coworker but Terry still didn't trust her.
Bella helped herself to anther stool and sat directly in front of Terry. At this close range, if the woman tried anything, she'd never survive one of her more high powered sonic screams. First her ear drums would shatter, her eyes pop, her bones would start to collapse as the flesh was torn away from them..... Bringing her back out of that little daydream, Bella said, "I jus' wanna say, before dis' get nasty, dat' I'm sorry. You're Tom's daughter an' Bella had no right to say dose' t'ings to you."
She sounded contrite but that was a huge about face from just a short time ago by the pool. Terry still didn't trust her, didn't believe her. Either Tom had made Bella apologize or she had something up her sleeve. Either way, Terry wasn't going to make a scene with her. Yet. She'd let Bella mess up first.
Bella got all serious like and added, "Deres' some t'ings dat you gotta know before you head off ta the Red Guard...t'ings dat Tom can' talk to ya about."
Terry's eyebrows went straight up. What the hell did Bella know about the Red Guard? She had gone straight into the Mauraders, although Theresa technically didn't “know” that, and never spent one day in the Red Guard. “There's no secrets between Tom and I. Since neither of ya have been in tha Guard, I don't see what ya can 'enlighten' me with that hasn't already been taught at tha Academy,” she said, her voice still very much guarded.

Belladonna always had a way with words...even as a child, she could make any simple phrase mean, angry or sexual in nature. She had the boys in the Assassins Guild to thank for that...
Not only had she learned about sex at a young age, but she had learned how to use it to her advantage. They'd taught her how to sit, stand, move and breathe to get men to stop and stare...
And Julien had taught her sexual assult prevention maneuvers that had come in handy more than once.
“There's no secrets between Tom and I. Since neither of ya have been in tha Guard, I don't see what ya can 'enlighten' me with that hasn't already been taught at tha Academy,” she said, her voice still very much guarded. Bella gave her a sad nod. "I know dat' you an' Tom are close...but dis' is woman t'ings. An' de Red Guard won' be givin' you lessons in dis', mon ami."
Standing up, she began to pace slightly. "You're practically a woman now, oui? 18 years old." She shook her head...knowing that, although that seemed like years ago, it really wasn't too long ago. "You've very lucky dat' your pere don' have you wedded and bedded already."
Chuckling, she folded her arms. "But since ya ain' got de' bonds of matrimony yet, you'll still be doin' all the t'ings dat they do." She looked toward the door and smirked. "I mean look at yer' pere, he's promiscious, non?"
That was not going to be a shock to Terry...Tom had openly admited that he took a new woman to bed each night, and only stopped when Terry was home. "Dat's why I'm here...we're gunna have a little talk about sex." If she had to pull ALL of the skeletons out of her closet to make this happen, she was going to do it.
Ice. That was Belladonna LeBeau...most parents would be squirming in their seats about this lecture, but not Bella, her porcelain face not tainted at all by blushing.
"Let's start wit' de basics."

"I know dat' you an' Tom are close...but dis' is woman t'ings. An' de Red Guard won' be givin' you lessons in dis', mon ami,” Bella informed her.
Theresa's eyes narrowed slightly. Bella wanted to have a heart to heart with her regarding “woman things”? Did this woman really think she was a complete moron? It was all Terry could do not to reach out and scratch at that perfect little face with that perfect little expression of “concern”. Yeah, the only concern Bella had for her was on how quickly she could make little Terry disappear.
Then Bella stood up and started pacing slowly, which irritated Theresa. If someone was going to talk to her, she would much rather they do with eye contact. In fact, she made her students look at her when she subbed and taught some of the younger level children. "You're practically a woman now, oui? 18 years old. You've very lucky dat' your pere don' have you wedded and bedded already. But since ya ain' got de' bonds of matrimony yet, you'll still be doin' all the t'ings dat they do. I mean look at yer' pere, he's promiscuous, non?" Bella inquired.
It was official in Theresa's book. This woman was completely off her rocker if she thought that Tom would have any interest in seeing her married off anytime soon. The few boyfriends that Terry had even talked about with him had made him fairly nervous and he got all “fatherly” on her. She had made it a point not to talk about any of her boyfriends or male interests after that. Just like Terry knew but never asked about Tom's little “friends”.
"Dat's why I'm here...we're gunna have a little talk about sex. Let's start wit' de basics," Bella concluded with a smirk in her usual dramatic fashion.
Theresa started laughing. She honestly couldn't help it. Grinning at Bella, especially since Bella all so clearly thought that Terry knew nothing about sex, she said, “Ya know, that's pretty funny coming from someone who obviously hasn't had any in a very long time.” Glancing at the wedding band on Bella's hand, she added, “Is that why he left ya? Ya couldn't give him what he wanted?"
Standing up as well, Terry followed Bella's pose and crossed her arms over her chest. If Bella thought she was going to be bullied, she was sorely mistaken. Theresa had to fight almost constantly at school against the prejudice that she was only there because she was Tom's daughter and not because she deserved it. Granted, anyone who'd ever actually said that to her had found their eardrums ruptured but she still heard it whispered, even after acing her exams and physical training.
“First of all, Ms. Boudreaux, I don't like nor trust ya so why on earth would I want ta have this conversation with ya? Second of all, if Tom found out ya were talking ta his daughter about sex, I doubt he'd find it amusing. Thirdly, I am not quite the 'beginner' ya seem ta think I am. Anything ya think ya have ta tell me I will be perfectly happy learning on my own. Now if ye'll please leave my presence and leave me alone fer tha rest of my vacation, I'd appreciate that,” Terry said in an even voice. She never raised her voice but half hoped that Tom could overhear this conversation. He would be so unhappy with Bella.

Belladonna did NOT liked to be laughed at...she had killed for less, and Terry would know that soon.“Ya know, that's pretty funny coming from someone who obviously hasn't had any in a very long time.” “Is that why he left ya? Ya couldn't give him what he wanted?"
Her heart leapt straight into her throat as Terry went where no one had gone before. Yes, she had told Tom a few details about her life with Remy...but he had no idea what the man had done to her...no idea.
Now if ye'll please leave my presence and leave me alone fer tha rest of my vacation, I'd appreciate that,”
This wasn't about sex anymore...Bella was taking this seriously now. "You sit yer ass down..." She said, leaving no room for argument. "It's fine dat ya don' like me but once you go mockin' t'ings dat you don' know anything about, dat's when de game ends."
Her blue eyes blazed with fury as she stared the little girl down. "Tom don' want ya gettin' knocked up at de Red Guard either, non? Dat's because he loves you!"
Fury was causing her hands to shake as she pointed. "Ma pere had me isolated...I was de only woman in dat damncomplex...an' ya wanna know what I learned?" She slammed her fist down on the cold marble countertop. "I learned how ta entice men wit' everyt'ing I had."
Pointing a finger at Theresa, she clenched her teeth. "An' it got me years of sexual assault attempts and a deadbeat husband."
Her breathing was slightly heavier and her heart was pounding in her ears. "Yer jus' lucky dat your pere loves you...an' I ain't gunna let you screw it up, Theresa!" She annunciated her last few words. "Keep dem' legs shut."
At this point, she was so angry...she had to start drinking again. Moving to the booze cabinet (that she knew VERY well) she took out a bottle of bourbon and unscrewed the cap.
Taking a long drink, she let the liquid burn into her stomach. So what if it wasn't 5pm yet...it had to be Happy Hour SOMEWHERE.

Tom held back a laugh as the screen startled Toad. A little jumpy apparently, no pun intended. He seemed a little uncomfortable, which was understandable. He’d seen what Shield life was like. They were true military, starting in the dark of the morning and ending in the dark of night. The Marauders were more like professional athletes. You work hard during the day and play hard at night. Tom was actually quite interested to see how Toad adapted to the new lifestyle. He was the first Red Guard member to ever join the group. Few people asked for transfer out of the guard. Even less people were ever ‘transferred’ to the Marauders. Tom usually did his own recruiting.
“Mortimer Toynbee reporting for transfer to the Marauders unit as instructed.” Tom couldn’t help laughing this time, although he did muffle it somewhat. This was definitely going to be interesting. “How much were ya told about tha Marauders, Mortimer?” He had to ask the magic question. As much as Tom enjoyed being treated like a superior, that would have to go. The constant screaming and saluting got old, and Bella was sure to tear him apart if he didn’t stop that. “I think that yuir in for a few surprises.”

Bella wasn't just mad, she was down right pissed off. And Terry couldn't care less. She almost smiled when the woman went off on a tangent, practically yelling at her. "You sit yer ass down... It's fine dat ya don' like me but once you go mockin' t'ings dat you don' know anything about, dat's when de game ends. Tom don' want ya gettin' knocked up at de Red Guard either, non? Dat's because he loves you! Ma pere had me isolated...I was de only woman in dat damn complex...an' ya wanna know what I learned? I learned how ta entice men wit' everyt'ing I had. An' it got me years of sexual assault attempts and a deadbeat husband,” Bella ranted at her.
Terry had absolutely no idea why Bella was telling her this nor what it had to do with her. However, her training kicked in and Theresa memorized everything that the woman was ranting. This was information on her past and even if she never needed it against Bella professionally, she could always use it against her personally. Bella, however, wasn't done. "Yer jus' lucky dat your pere loves you...an' I ain't gunna let you screw it up, Theresa! Keep dem' legs shut,” she pretty much screamed at Terry.
Then Theresa watched in amusement as Bella walked over to the liquor cabinet and pulled out a bottle of bourbon and drank it straight from the bottle. Terry couldn't help but grimace. She'd had her fair share of alcohol, whiskey included since it was Tom's favorite drink and readily available here, but never would she be so..... crass about how she drank it. Bella was almost a woman to be pitied. She'd obviously had a difficult childhood and her father must not have cared about her at all, she was forced, from the sounds of it, to get married to a man who didn't want her and she never once broke her wedding vows and let herself go free for a time. No wonder the woman was so cranky.
“Ya have no control over my life and what I do, Bella. Believe it or not, I do have some common sense about what happens in my personal life. Besides, yuir not my mother or anywhere near tha kind of woman she was. Ya don't deserve ta have this conversation with me,” Terry snapped back at her as Bella continued to drink.
It was pathetic and completely disgusted Theresa. Not saying anything else to the woman, she walked past her and out the kitchen door. Maddy was standing there and she just shook her head at Theresa. If anything, Maddy would tell Tom word for word what Bella had said. Not that it was going to matter. One of them was going to have to leave and it seemed like Bella had taken up residence in Tom's house.
Tracking her cousin down to his office, she didn't care who he was talking to on the monitor, Terry walked in and shut his office door. Plopping herself down in one of the leather chairs that sat in front of his desk, she waited for him to finish up so she could tell Tom goodbye.
