Mystique sat back as Magneto explained everything, and thought about what he'd said about Exodus. Nine hundred years... Well, that changed things. For one, she was no longer the oldest. Not that it really mattered, but she didn't like knowing it herself while trying to keep up a facade of youth.
"Is there anything you would like to add?"
She thought about it for a moment and glanced at her computer screen, then smiled.
"Yes. One of the X-Men is trying to break in."
She pulled up the security cameras, displaying the images on the large screens in the room.
"Wolverine. And a bad attempt at a disguise."

Hybrid's head snapped over to the screen. X-Men. He'd heard of them, but really, who hadn't?
Looks like...an animal. Yes, that was it.
Hybrid didn't speak, didn't react to Mystique's announcement of a break-in attempt. He wondered if there would be a fight, and if he'd be participating.

"Okay, here's what's most likely happening. Two of the X-Men are upstairs. This one has probably come to 'rescue' them. There was a break in at a high security prison today which one of the X-Men upstairs helped us out on. It is all over the news, thanks to my daughter's botched attempt at keeping a low profile."
She pushed a button and the screens flickered, settling on various news channels.
"I don't care if Wolverine gets to them, kills them even, but he is not to set foot inside this building."

"He will not enter," Exodus boasted. "No matter how powerful this mutant may be, he will not get by me," Exodus finished with a quick flip of his cape as he started to walk out of the room. He wasn't familiar with the Brotherhood's base but he would find him. His energy level wasn't at peak and that could effect the outcome of skirmish if it came to it.
Exodus paused briefly before he stepped out of the room. "Would you like this beast destroyed?"

Hybrid stood up. It was time to show these people what he could do. It was time to speak up, too.
"He won't get in. I need a place to...to change." He glanced about the briefing room. "This room is too small. But judging from the way you led me in here", he said to Mystique, "I can squeeze through the hallways and out the front entrance."
Hybrid realized that they probably had no idea what he was talking about. Well, the psychic might. The thought made him shudder inside.
"I just need thirty seconds."

Mystique smiled. They were quite eager to fight. That was good.
"Don't destroy him. Incapacitate him. We can get information from him easily. "
She turned to Hybrid. "We have lockerrooms, but I have a feeling you aren't talking about clothing. The hallway has a bend in it."

Jean-Paul stormed down the hall from Rogue's room, entering the briefing room. "Frost was nowhere to be found," he snapped at Mystique, ignoring the conversation he'd interrupted, "and that absurd little plant boy decided to try and have a growth spurt. You may need to try and train him to clean up after himself, if Rogue leaves him in one piece" Spinning around, he noticed the two newcomers and Magneto. Not saying anything, he studied them arrogantly.

Exodus felt the presence of the person who barged into the room. His arrogance seemed to only strengthen Exodus' realization of the new world. In his day, arrogance was acompanied with royalty, not whining and tattling.
Exodus turned at the man's glare that was aimed at him. He walked out the door waiting for any lingering thoughts to run in the man's head about him. He was waiting for it.

Hybrid let out a short 'ha' when Northstar barged into the room. Hybrid made his way around the table and walked into the hall. He stuck his head back in.
"I hope you don't mind if the walls get a little scratched..." He disappeared into the hallway. Once he reached the bend he stopped and let out a long sigh with his eyes closed.
A moment passed before anything happened. Then, he fell to the ground and screamed. The scream echoed down the hall and into the briefing room. His skin turned a dark shade of green and scaled popped out all over his body. After about thirty seconds of writhing and transforming Hybrid stood up. He was now a nine and a half foot tall monster. His enormous jaw opened and he roared savagely.
Hybrid's head scraped the ceiling, so he dropped down on all fours and bounded toward the front entrance.

Mystique sighed, as the two newest members of the Brotherhood exited the room.
"Jean-Paul, in order for this to work, you have to realize one thing. I am not your mother."
She picked up the file that had finished printing and threw it onto the table, so that he could see that she had managed to get a fairly detailed background on him. "Although I do know quite a bit about her now. Your foster mother, at least. Any information you try to keep from me, I will find it. Now." She leaned over the table. "You're a big boy. If you have a problem with someone in this building, you can take it up with them directly."
She went back to her desk and pulled out another folder from a file cabinet, throwing it atop the first. "And this," she started, "Is the information about the little place we have in Colorado. Private slopes."

"Is the information about the little place we have in Colorado. Private slopes."
"Interesting" Jean-Paul replied, flicking through the small file on some kind of ski resort or chalet or something. They know about my mother. He kept his face calm with a deliberate effort. "Why do I care about some dump in Colorado? I don't ski anymore."

"When you love something, you don't just give it up. You can choose not to go, but it's there if you feel like it."
One of the monitors was flicking around different news channels. She raised an eyebrow at it and laughed, pointing.
"Looks like the X-Men sent in backup."

"When you love something, you don't just give it up. You can choose not to go, but it's there if you feel like it."
Jean-Paul kept his face expressionless with an effort. Skiing...he missed skiing. But he'd made a decision, a promise. But just for fun, not competetively....
Lost in thought Mystique's voice snapped him out of his daze. "Looks like the X-Men sent in backup." Turning, Jean-Paul saw the facility he'd met Rogue at earlier that day, the landscape seeming slightly different from the perspective of a news camera.
"Does this particularly concern yo...us?" he asked

She looked over at him. "For entertainment purposes, yes."
She switched one of the cameras to monitor the activity outside, and a third to watch the hallway that led from Rogue's room.
"We have just about the entire group of X-Men where we can see them. There's going to be a lot of explanation necessary for this." She pointed at the monitor showing news footage of the PMCF.
"Just enjoy it."

"Just enjoy it."
As Jean-Paul relaxed against the desk, it hit him again. He was working for "the bad guys" now. He was, he supposed, technically a mutant supremacist. He wondered if it was the right decision.
