As Exodus made himself known, she grinned. Of course, she'd meant no harm in her comments, and soon enough Bennet was set straight. Obviously, one of the lessons that Lorna had failed to communicate properly to him was about having a sense of humor. Oh, well.
She turned to look at Pietro as he went on the "big brother" rant. Which, of course, there was absolutely no need for. "Little sister? By what, less than a minute? Pietro, we've had this discussion before. Unless you learned something vital in the first four and a half seconds of life, the older brother excuse won't work."
She glanced back up at Exodus and Lorna, grinning as the younger woman set about almost completely assuring that the man would indeed be joining them. "So, Exodus is coming... do we need anyone else? Someone to watch over Pietro, make sure he doesn't do anything inappropriate?" It would be hard finding someone who actually could watch over Pietro. He had a wonderful way of excusing himself to go to the bathroom then returning moments later, having purchased a car and about a year's worth of groceries. Well, maybe not the car. They were too slow. Come to think of it, he never really did much shopping of his own. Hm. Ah, well. He still did stuff fast and rather covertly. He was a hard guy to pin down.

“Oh, Bennet, you always seem to have impeccable timing. You realize, don't you, that my dear sister just secretly craves to see you in much less clothes,” Lorna said to him. Bennet’s cheeks turned red for reasons he didn’t understand. He merely blinked a few times as the spotlight shifted towards him. That wasn’t expected by him and if it were any other family, he wouldn’t care. But this was the Lehnsherr family that he had always held in high regard. They were the only people he thought to be above him.
"Wanda was merely jesting, Exodus, but my daughters are correct. If we are to take a weekend holiday somewhere, we will need a guard. Would you be free to accompany us?" Erik asked him. Bennet couldn’t argue even if he had wanted to. If Erik wished him to be there to protect his family, then Bennet would happily do so. Without question, Exodus would protect the people most important to him with his life. Before he could give his approval, Lorna wrapped her arm with his and looked up at him. Her eyes were always piercing and he could never say no to Lorna, especially when her green eyes were genuinely honest. Even if she had a mischievous look in her eyes, Bennet could see passed that and see her true intentions but he still couldn’t deny her anything. He already knew she was going to try to convince him to go but it was unnecessary to do.
“Please say yes. If you don't, Father will chose someone else and they will be dreadfully dull to have around. I promise, you won't have to wear a Speedo, pink or any other color. Although a pair of shorts and a t-shirt wouldn't hurt you any....” Lorna said to him grinning. Bennet knew that smile well. She was only joking with him about his attire.
"Give it up, Bennett, once she gives you those eyes . . ." Pietro said to him. Lorna liked to give her puppy dog eyes and she usually got her way. Even with her own family. The woman was completely spoiled and Bennet just added to her getting anything she wanted.
”Very well then. Where is this weekend holiday?” Bennet asked them. It was his curiosity that was getting the better of him. It didn’t matter where they were going but if Bennet knew where it was, they could be there instantly.
"So, Exodus is coming... do we need anyone else? Someone to watch over Pietro, make sure he doesn't do anything inappropriate?" Wanda asked. That was an interesting question. If they chose to bring another guard, it would have Bennet question their faith in him. Pietro was quick but Exodus’ telepathy could keep up with him. Exodus was powerful enough to protect the whole family. He raised his sight from Lorna’s eyes to look at Lord Magnus. It was Erik’s decision whether or not to bring another guard.

Magneto watched with masked amusement as his youngest child set about convincing Exodus to join them. He knew Bennet wouldn't refuse, even if he himself had not asked. But it was still rather humorous to see the way Lorna had twisted the poor man about her finger.
"They are my little sisters, I wouldn't be a good big brother if I didn't protect them, now would I?" Pietro protested, glaring daggers at Exodus when Lorna wrapped her arm's through his.
"Little sister? By what, less than a minute? Pietro, we've had this discussion before. Unless you learned something vital in the first four and a half seconds of life, the older brother excuse won't work." Magnus stifled a chuckle at Wanda's retort. She certainly had her mother's wit. Sharp and forthright. The smile she gave Bennet and Lorna was the exact opposite of her twin's.
Wanda was the only one of his children who took after her mother at all. With her mass of chestnut curls and her dark blue eyes, she looked exactly like Magda. Pietro favored Erik's side the family, with white hair and slate blue eyes as well. Lorna looked like Anne, save for her hair, which was green instead of blonde. Unfortunately, both Pietro and Lorna had their father's temperament. Which led to little verbal bouts like this. Truly, it didn't bother Magnus. His children were all intelligent and witty. It was only natural they would not agree on everything and debates would happen.
”Very well then. Where is this weekend holiday?” Exodus asked, obviously never having intended to refuse their request.
Erik shrugged. "It was Lorna's idea to take a vacation, she can decide where we go." He was just as guilty as anyone else in spoiling Lorna, if not the most guilty of it. "So long as her sister and brother agree."
Wanda, of course, posed the next important question. "So, Exodus is coming... do we need anyone else? Someone to watch over Pietro, make sure he doesn't do anything inappropriate?"
Magnus chuckled again, and shook his head. The thought of Pietro doing any inappropriate was laughable. As long as he was not expected to be sociable, his son was probably the least likely of his children to end up in the tabloids. "No, my dear," he said, rising from his seat next to Wanda. "I would think with our own powers and Exodus watching over us, we should be sufficiently secure. Mystique can easily handle anything that should arise while we are gone."
He had a great deal of respect for Raven Darkholme. As one of his oldest allies, she was as close to him as anyone who was not related to him ever got. Or had been. Erik had seen less and less of her over the last few years. As head of the elite Red Guard, she was likely kept busy. When he spoke to her about their impromptu trip, he would remind her that she and her children were always welcome at the palace. He would have to invite her to dinner the next evening. There were no official functions going on and it would be pleasant to have a meal with Raven and her children.
"I am going to go pay my respects to your mothers and sister, then I will go call Mystique and let her know about this little trip," Magnus told them. "When you have decided on a location, let me know. I'll be in my office, going over reports."
Erik kissed each of his daughters on the cheek in turn, nodding to Exodus and Quicksilver, then headed down the short path to the memorial to his two wife and lost daughter.

“The look”, as Pietro had so politely called it, was working. Lorna could literally feel Bennet start to relax a bit as she explained what Wanda had “meant”, although Lorna wasn't serious and she doubted that Wanda had any desire to see her best friend in a Speedo. Although the blush that crept up on his face was very endearing. Finally, his eyes flickered from her to her father's and Bennet said, ”Very well then. Where is this weekend holiday?”
Lorna grinned. He would be going with them and maybe she could finally make him relax. Although that was highly unlikely, she was still determined to try and Lorna had learned early on that if she was persistent enough, she could have anything she wanted. Her father looked at him and replied, "It was Lorna's idea to take a vacation, she can decide where we go. So long as her sister and brother agree."
Once again, a grin of satisfaction crept across her face. Pietro and Wanda were unlikely to challenge any destination she chose and it was a guarantee that wherever they went, there would be room and privacy for them. Some days, she absolutely loved being a member of the royal family. Okay, Lorna couldn't think of a day where she didn't love it. Who could blame her? She barely remembered her life before the war, the only memory really sticking was the day of her mother's death. Ever since the war, people nearly tripped over themselves to do anything she wanted. Lorna had a hair out of place? She could call a maid and the hair was fixed immediately. She had a craving for chocolate ice cream? It was done, just like that. Sure, she was probably spoiled rotten but this was her life and Lorna saw no reason not to live it to the fullest.
She got into any restaurant she wanted without a reservation. She was able to go shopping and charge everything to her account at the palace. Lorna wanted to fly to Paris for a bit of shopping, there was a jet prepped and ready within minutes. And as long as she had her body guard with her, or someone else if Bennet was busy, she had been allowed to go anywhere and do anything she wanted since she was eighteen. Of course she was spoiled.
As she thought about where to go, her father stood up and kissed her on the cheek. "I am going to go pay my respects to your mothers and sister, then I will go call Mystique and let her know about this little trip. When you have decided on a location, let me know. I'll be in my office, going over reports," he told them all.
Lorna smiled sweetly at him and said, “We will, Father. Give them our love as well.” After a second, she thought about it and added, “Our mothers and sister, not Mystique.” Lorna wrinkled her nose at the thought of giving Mystique their love and almost laughed out loud. Mystique had been one of her favorite visitors when she was a child. She would hover around Mystique and beg her to shift into various famous people. Now that Lorna was an adult, she realized what a pest she had to have been but it was still amusing to remember.
Then Lorna got to the process of thinking up a vacation destination. Someplace not quite as hot but with lovely beaches where her and Wanda could turn more heads then should be legal. Suddenly, her eyes lit up as she announced, “I know! Let's go to Lake Tahoe. We haven't been there in a few years and if I remember correctly, the beaches, although not tropical, are still inviting. Besides, we can get tropical beaches here in our own backyard. Let's go for something a bit different. A house on the lake, shopping just a small teleport away and American food! What do you think?” She looked at each of her older siblings, waiting for their approval.

"Little sister? By what, less than a minute? Pietro, we've had this discussion before. Unless you learned something vital in the first four and a half seconds of life, the older brother excuse won't work."
Pietro looked at his twin sister, she'd always given him that argument. And he'd always come back with his answer,
“Yes Wanda, I did learn a few vital things in the two minutes before you were born. That I was the eldest, and that I had to protect you. And when Lorna was born, I was still the oldest, and she fell under my protection as well.” Of course Wanda would ignore that, as usual. All three of them had a stubborn streak just like father. It was inherited, Pietro was certain.
Pietro grinned as father told them Lorna could pick out their vacation spot. Then he laughed out loud at Lorna's little slip of wording. He remembered very well dragging Lorna away while Mystique visited. Several times. In a single visit. For a young girl with no super speed to speak of, she'd been very quick. And sneaky.
Pietro had a hunch as to where she'd pick, and he was right. Lake Tahoe had been one of their favorite vacation spots.
“Well . . . . . I don't know. Lake Tahoe? Wouldn't you rather go somewhere exotic?” He teased Lorna for a few minutes. He knew she'd see through it quickly, but still, it was his duty.

She rolled her eyes, not wanting to get into the whole "babies don't have that level of comprehension" argument again. She was beginning to think that maybe Pietro didn't have the level of comprehension necessary to understand that.
As Lorna suggested Lake Tahoe, she shrugged. "That sounds fine to me." Where they went didn't really matter to her. They were going, and that was what was important. As much as she liked the way that things were, she spent entirely too much time cooped up inside the palace. And when she did go out, the paparrazi was everywhere. They even set up a little area outside the main gates, so they could catch anyone going in or out. It was incredibly excessive and more than once, she'd had the urge to hex them into oblivion. Of course, that would create more problems than it would solve.
She watched their father as he walked down toward the memorials. The fact that he took time out of his day every day to pay respect to them spoke volumes about him. She smiled, turning back to her siblings and Exodus. "So, anyone up for some shopping before we go?"

"It was Lorna's idea to take a vacation, she can decide where we go," Magneto said to answer Bennet’s question. Lorna was always the spoiled one, even Bennet had noticed this. "So long as her sister and brother agree," he continued. It really didn’t matter to Bennet where they went. He could get them anywhere in the world within a few minutes. "I would think with our own powers and Exodus watching over us, we should be sufficiently secure. Mystique can easily handle anything that should arise while we are gone," Magneto continued as he answered Wanda’s previous question. This was true. Mystique could handle SHIELD while Exodus was away. She was capable of the job. "I am going to go pay my respects to your mothers and sister, then I will go call Mystique and let her know about this little trip. When you have decided on a location, let me know. I'll be in my office, going over reports," Magneto notified them then made his customary goodbye to his daughters.
“We will, Father. Give them our love as well,” Lorna said to her father. After Erik said goodbye to Wanda, Lorna decided to fix what she had originally intended to say. “Our mothers and sister, not Mystique,” Lorna corrected herself. Pietro laughed at his sister. After a quick nod to his son and Bennet, Erik was off to do as he had said he was going to do. “I know! What do you think?” Lorna suggested. Her eyes showed her excitement, Bennet knew the look well. There wasn’t much about Lorna that he didn’t know about.
“Well . . . . . I don't know. Lake Tahoe? Wouldn't you rather go somewhere exotic?” Pietro joked. Bennet still looked to Lorna to see if she would answer him.
"That sounds fine to me," Wanda added in. She wasn’t that excited but the destination. If her tone in her voice didn’t give it away then her overall attitude did. Of coarse, Wanda didn’t leave the Palace too much, so she could have just been content with any location.
”I could have us there in two teleports,” Bennet reported to them. It was useful information but he doubted any of them really cared. It didn’t matter to him where they went.
"So, anyone up for some shopping before we go?" Wanda asked her siblings. Thiswasn’t good. The last time Bennet went shopping with the three of them, they were mobbed on a constant basis. Portecting them from civilians was simple, though. Each one of the Royal Family was adequate enough with their abilities to be able to protect themselves. Normally, Bennet let them handle themselves. If things got out of hand then Bennet would ensure their victory. He didn’t fight their battles but sometimes he would have to finish them. It wasn’t that often, though. Bennet didn’t answer Wanda’s question. If they chose to request his presence then he would join them.

Magnus let his children's banter fall away as he made his way down the short path, changing his mind about the stones. Neither of his wives had been Jewish and over the years since he'd erected the memorial to them, he had grown rather fond of the custom of leaving beautiful flowers upon the graves of departed loved ones.
Not that these were their graves. Anne was buried in a Christian cemetery in Israel, Anya beneath her favorite tree in the small village she'd been murdered in and where Magda's body rested eternally, he had no idea. She had been a gypsy and had likely returned to her people, and only they knew where her true grave was. He found the idea of exhuming bodies abhorrent, and doubted there was anything left of Anya's body after all these years anyway, thus he had left his second wife and his daughter to rest where they were.
Plucking three lovely white roses from the garden, Erik carefully unlatched the gates to their small memorial area with his powers and pushed them open. The two statues stood before him, white and beautiful in the afternoon sun. He went first to Magda and Anya's memorial, laying two of the flowers the as he knelt. He rarely said anything when he paid his respects to his first wife and lost daughter. He had been unable to save Anya, held down by anti-Semantic police officers while she screamed for him. His insane massacre of the bigots and loss of her only child had sent Magda fleeing from him in fear. He had apologized to both enough over the years, and now he contented himself that they were reunited in Heaven.
Rising slowly, he moved to his second wife's grave. Anne Dane. While Magda had been his first love, his reason for surviving after the Holocaust, Anne had been more of a lifemate. Sweet, gentle and unendingly understanding, she had been his confidant, his beacon when the dark times of his life came back to haunt him, his muse. She had not only accepted his children, but she had raised them as if they were her own children. Pietro and Wanda had no real memories of their own mother, Anne had been the woman who had raised them from small children.
Anne was what Charles had thought humans could be one day. Completely unbiased, utterly accepting, seeing his and his children's mutations as a gift, not as abominations. Her death had taught Magnus the truth. For every human like Anne, there were a dozen who hated mutants with such insane fervor, they would kill a helpless innocent woman. In front of her own children even. The thought still made Erik's blood boil. He was not sorry to hear Wanda and Pietro had killed her murderers.
Sometimes he spoke to Anne, but today he was in a quiet contemplative mood. Being in this quiet, scared place brought him a sense of peace that was only surpassed by the brief time he could spend in company of his living children, before Exodus came along to remind him that he duties to attend to, duties that ensured this idyllic world existed for his grandchildren, were he ever blessed with any.
Rising slowly, Erik exited the small area, securing the gate behind him. He had work to do, especially as he wanted to take the weekend off.

Lorna simply stuck her tongue out at Pietro, otherwise ignoring his little bit of teasing. Wanda didn't care where they went and honestly, neither did Lorna as long as they all got away together. She worried for a moment that her father would try to back out on them at the last minute but knew he had given his word and that meant he would be with them, no matter what.
Bennet looked at them and said, ”I could have us there in two teleports.”
That just broadened Lorna's smile. “See? No waiting in dreadful air traffic even though we have our own private jet. No flying for hours to reach the States. As soon as father says he's ready, we are escaping with him before he changes his mind,” she declared to them all.
Then Wanda spoke out and said, "So, anyone up for some shopping before we go?"
The thought of shopping caught Lorna's attention and she looked at Wanda excitedly. She was about to say she's go when she felt a slight brush in her mind. Looking over to Bennet, she groaned noticeably and said, “I would love to, believe me, but I have a training session in fifteen minutes. After that, I'm going out for the night with friends. Maybe we can do it tomorrow.” Lorna pouted, hoping that Bennet would take pity on her and let her out of the training but also knowing this was her father's request and he wouldn't let it go.
Sighing once more in dramatic defeat, she started to walk to toward the main building then turned and said to her siblings, “I'll see you later.” Looking at Exodus, she added, “I'll go change. Come get me when you're ready.” With that, Lorna left the garden.

Pietro just grinned at Lorna as she stuck her tongue out at him. That was his baby sister all right. She never would grow up all the way, and he wondered if what had happened to their mom had been part of that. It probably was, but what could he do about it?
Then the dreaded “S” word was uttered. Oh dear lord. Shopping. With his sisters. There was a fate worse than death, and it was shopping with the two of them. It wouldn't be so bad if they shopped for themselves, but no. Everytime it was “Look at this, Pietro! This is so your color.” He shuddered at the thought. Maybe he'd have to drag Bennet along, just to even things out a bit.
Thankfully Lorna had a training session, he hadn't seen her in action in a while. She'd been gone so much during the war, he was curious to see how much progress she had made
He watched his little sister leave, and turned to Bennett. He still wasn't overly fond of the man. He just couldn't put his finger on it, but there was just something that bothered him about Bennett.
“Actually, I would like to observe the training session. Where will it be?” He turned to Wanda,
“Why don't we see what Lorna has learned in her time away from us?” He didn't know if Wanda would want to come with him or not, but he didn't have anything planned for the afternoon. And it wasn't like he needed time to pack for their weekend away. He could be ready to go in seconds. One of the definite perks to his powers.

She frowned as Lorna explained that she had a training session. Normally, she would have tried to get her sister out of it, but after the "cabana boy" discussion, she doubted that Exodus would be so willing to do her bidding. Oh, well. That still left Pietro. “Actually, I would like to observe the training session. Where will it be?”
Or maybe it didn't. “Why don't we see what Lorna has learned in her time away from us?” She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, like you'll be able to sit still long enough to actually see a difference." Smiling, she shrugged. "Sounds like a blast, Speedy. And then, once little Lorna has gone out to play with her friends, we go shopping. I saw the cutest miniskirt the other day. You'd look great in it."
She glanced over at Exodus, still smiling. "And we could pick up Bennet's speedo." Was she pushing it? Exodus could probably kill her without so much as a second thought. Of course, he almost definitely wouldn't. He cared too much about Lorna. Hopefully.

Bennet had to bite back a smile as Lorna tried to get out of her training session. It wasn't a shock to him, but amusing none the less. Thankfully she gave up and went to go change. He considered Pietro's request to watch the session and didn't see it as a problem. Hopefully Wanda was kidding about the speedo comment. He raised one eyebrow at her.
"If you want to watch the session that is fine, just don't distract Lorna. And the only way I will ever wear a speedo is if Erik orders me to."
That said, he turned around and walked back towards the grounds. He would take care of the training, that was a priority. Not only with him, but Lorna herself. For all her protesting, she really did want to utilize her powers as best she could.

Pietro nodded at Bennett, he hadn't really expected him to refuse. He was looking forward to seeing what his "baby" sister had learned while she was gone. She had spent far too long away from her family. He'd hated having his family seperated, even though he knew it was for her own good. He heard Wanda,
"Sounds like a blast, Speedy. And then, once little Lorna has gone out to play with her friends, we go shopping. I saw the cutest miniskirt the other day. You'd look great in it."
He gave her a look of total exasperation. Then she mentioned Bennet in a speedo, again! Ewww. He cringed at the mental image that gave him. He rubbed his eyes, trying to erase the vision from his mind.
"Thank you so much, dear sister. I think I need to go wash out my mind's eye with bleach. Let's go catch that training session, and we can discuss shopping. ButI'mnotmakinganypromises." He blurred the rest of his sentence as he sped back to the palace.

That could probably be arranged. Turning back to Pietro, she opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off as he stated in the way that only he could, "Thank you so much, dear sister. I think I need to go wash out my mind's eye with bleach. Let's go catch that training session, and we can discuss shopping. ButI'mnotmakinganypromises."
As he ran off, she sighed. Typical. Then again, she really wouldn't have it any other way. Smiling, she kickd a particularly large stone as she headed up the path. Crazy as it was, life was good.

((Continued from Private Family Dining Room))
Wanda and Pietro seemed to delight in making fools of themselves, Lorna thought. Wanda solidified it by saying, "Oh, God... could you two be a little more obvious, please? I don't think we got the message." All the while laughing like blasted loon. Lorna rolled her eyes at her sister and hoped that Kurt would take her up on her offer. Anything to get away from the twins.
"I'd be honored, Highness,” Kurt replied and stood up, offering her his arm. The smile on his face turned from playful to something a bit more serious and that peaked her insatiable curiosity. Suddenly, a walk in the gardens seemed to take on a whole new meaning.
As Lorna stood up and accepted Kurt's offered arm, Pietro must have seen Kurt's smile as he threatened, "You do realize if you hurt her in any way . . . . ." Not realizing that Kurt had already sent Pietro a look of retribution, Lorna sent him one of her own. Honestly, when was he going to let her grow up and make her own decisions. If she wanted to...enjoy Kurt's company, that was her business, not his. Or Wanda's.
While she was still glaring at Pietro, Kurt covered her hand with his own and teleported them out of the dining room. One second she was in the private eating area and the next, she was in the lush gardens that were a pride of the Palace. Lorna doubted she would ever get used to teleportation no matter how many times she's experienced it with Bennet. At least her stomach didn't rebel as it used to.
They arrived in the middle of a very fragrant part of the gardens, one that was covered in rich, white roses and once the usual brimstone smell of Kurt's teleport faded, the smell of roses took over. Her hand still in the crook of his arm, Lorna faced Kurt and said, “I apologize for the twins. I think Pietro forgets, all the time, that I'm not an innocent little girl who needs to be fawned over all the time. As for Wanda, let's just say that jealousy can be a very ugly thing.”
At least her father hadn't tried to do anything to embarrass her. He'd even taken her comment about him and Raven better then she thought he would have. Looking up at Kurt, she added, “I'm having a good time tonight, Kurt. I'm glad my plans to go out were canceled at the last moment and Pietro dragged me to dinner.” While she spoke, Lorna slid her one hand that had been on his arm into his hand and took his free hand into hers. Now she was facing him, her fingers entwined with his.
