“I'm having a good time tonight, Kurt. I'm glad my plans to go out were canceled at the last moment and Pietro dragged me to dinner.”
The taste of roses cut through the stench of the hellfire that filled his lungs. He smiled as Lorna explained away the behavior of the twins and took his hands...exhaling slowly, letting the aubergine swirl of smoke spill through his parted lips to coil around his head in a perfect violet plume. The cool air was lightly bitter with greenery and perfume as it replaced the little sip of Hell he carried with him whenever he teleported.
He kept her fingers twined with his as he slowly pulled her toward him, bringing her captured hands to meet behind his back. "I bet they didn't realize that dinner was going to come with a show." Kurt said, "Pietro's just being a big brother...although, he was probably misplacing his protectiveness toward the wrong victim, wasn't he?"
God knows, Lorna could take care of herself, and then some. The woman was among the most powerful mutants in the world, and the thought that she could kill him--stop his heart with a thought--with a whim...thrilled him in a decidedly indecent way. But then, he was a Darkholme, "decency" wasn't exactly emblazoned in their family crest, "I'm having a good time, too." He said, after a moment of just holding her arms around him, "Still bored, or am I proving to be an entertaining enough playmate tonight?"

Kurt pulled her closer to him as the smoke of his teleport dissipated and wrapped her arms around his waist, holding them there. She didn't have to look up very far as he wasn't too much taller then she was but as she did, his yellow eyes captured her green ones. "I bet they didn't realize that dinner was going to come with a show," he said to her.
Lorna gave a little smirk and laughed slightly at that. “If they aren't used to me by now, they never will be. They've had more of a hand in raising me since our mother died then our father has. I can blame my irreverent ways on them,” she replied with a bit of humor. She never would do that as she was quite capable of making her own decisions but it was fun to claim her brother and sister were guilty of things and she was the innocent one.
"Pietro's just being a big brother...although, he was probably misplacing his protectiveness toward the wrong victim, wasn't he?" Kurt added.
She tilted her head slightly, as if to ponder the question. Slowly, she began to rub at the soft fur on his hands with her thumbs. “I would never make you into a victim, Kurt. A partner in crime, yes, but never a victim,” she replied as she licked her lips. He wasn't exactly powerless himself. Lorna had seen him working out before, stretching his body in ways that would make any gymnast jealous. Just the thought of how she could use that amazing body of his added to the mischief already sparkling in her eyes.
Looking down on her, he said in an almost serious manner, "I'm having a good time, too.”
Then he added with a playful air, "Still bored, or am I proving to be an entertaining enough playmate tonight?"
Lorna pretended to contemplate that a bit as she slightly pressed her body closer to his. Leaning in a bit so that their faces were even closer, she replied in a light voice that was just slightly tinged with curiosity, “So far, so good, darling. But how do you plan on keeping me entertained?”

He was missing her already. He could already feel that emptiness tug somewhere in his chest, leaving a shadow of something akin to saddness...a tribute to Could Have Been.
Of all of the women he'd ever held like this, she was the only one who saw him. Really saw him, and wasn't fooled by the smoke and mirrors, wasn't blinded by the limelight or dazzled by the song and dance. Maybe it was the birthright she wielded like a razor edged weapon, maybe it was something not unlike solidarity...but it was there. Something honest. Even a little cruel in its truth--but he didn't want to give it up.
“I would never make you into a victim, Kurt. A partner in crime, yes, but never a victim,” Lorna said...it was something like a promise. He found his hand releasing her fingers to reach up and brush a tendril of her brilliant hair from her cheek--tucking it behind her ear.
"I know." Kurt said softly, almost to himself. "We're the same, you and I."
He wanted to tell her. Tell her he was leaving. Tell her that he loved his family and hers...and her. But that he had to leave. He didn't belong there anymore.
“So far, so good, darling. But how do you plan on keeping me entertained?” She moved in closer, he could feel her heartbeat in tandem with his own. So real. When nothing had seemed tangible for so long.
God help him, he wanted her.
"Oh, I can think of an amusement or two." Kurt began to sway slightly, side to side, in time to a tune playing in his head, set to the rush of his blood in his ears. He brought her fingers up to his mouth, bending them to his lips, running his breath along her knuckles, "It depends on what manner of game would suit your appetite right now."

Kurt released a hand yet she continued to keep her arms around him. She loved him being so close to her, within reach. Lorna had often dreamed of this, especially when they were younger, once she became interested in boys. Her “friends” would laugh at her, wonder what she saw in the blue furred, demonic looking mutant when she could have just about any boy just because she was the princess. They never understood, never could see below Kurt's surface at the sweetness that was inside. But she knew better and selfishly kept it to herself. As he got older, however, his charm became well known and so did he, in ways quite similar to herself.
Now, however, Lorna vowed he was hers, at least for the night. No matter what he did to try and escape, she was going to pull every trick she knew to make sure that her fifteen year old girlhood dream could finally come true. Sure, it had been a crush but tonight, it could be so much more. He reached up and ran a soft finger over her face, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "I know." Kurt said softly, almost to himself. "We're the same, you and I."
Lorna nodded but didn't reply to it. She couldn't. She knew it was the truth. The things they got into together as children. When he had gone off to train for the Red Guard, following in Aunt Raven's footsteps, Lorna had been so incredibly lonely. Anna may have been her childhood best friend but Kurt was her soul mate. She'd never found another like him.
She moved closer, she had to. She wanted to feel him against her, as close as they could be even with their clothes between them. Lorna wanted to run her hands through his dark hair, taste the wine on his lips, whisper in his ear. There was absolutely no way he was getting away from her tonight. "Oh, I can think of an amusement or two,” Kurt replied in almost as suggestive a tone as she had used.
Moving her hand that he still held in his own, Kurt brushed her knuckles against his lips as he continued, "It depends on what manner of game would suit your appetite right now."
He was swaying gently, to music that was only known to him but it didn't take her much to convince her body to join his. The hand that was still wrapped around his waist spread, her fingers across his lower back. Smiling as she looked into his eyes, she replied softly, “This is a very nice start. Besides, if I tell you everything I want to do to you, wouldn't that ruin the surprise? Although I would love to share the music that we are dancing to. Sing to me?”

Haunted. He finally had a name for the inner turmoil that had been tormenting his every waking thought lately. Lorna swaying in tandem with him made that sting bittersweet. He wanted to...to...tell her--or sink both of his hands into the silk of her hair and push her onto the garden bench. Maybe she'd kill him.
Maybe he wanted her to.
He would have her tonight. Kurt's smile darkened. God, did she know what she did to him? He'd never minded her games and deceptions with her little adventures, she discarded men like broken toys--and with as little thought as a pampered child would a doll that no longer amused her.
Fucking brat.
He loved to call her that, watching the flash in her eyes when he dismissed her with a vulgarity. Kurt was gallant and polite to everyone. A gentleman in words and countenance. To everyone except Lorna.
His Lorna.
Kurt thought fondly on the notion of murdering Guthrie for just a heartbeat.
The farmboy wasn't really worth more than a passing thought. He was just another broken plaything, to be discarded once the novelty wore off. He almost pitied him. The man seemed soft-hearted.
Lorna, his perfect spoiled princess, swayed in tandem with him--as green eyes met gold. “This is a very nice start. Besides, if I tell you everything I want to do to you, wouldn't that ruin the surprise? Although I would love to share the music that we are dancing to. Sing to me?”
God, his chest ached. He'd been holding his breath. Kurt leaned down, his lips brushing hers...his eyes hooded.
He used her breath to sing.
"And I'm haunted by the lives that I have loved and actions I have hated...I'm haunted by the promises I've made and others I have broken...I'm haunted by the lives that wove the web inside my haunted head." Kurt closed his eyes, resting his forehead against hers, raising her hand between them, wrapped tight in his fist, pressing it to his chest as he continued to dance with her, and sing, his voice soft and smoky.
He opened his eyes again, "I'll always want you...I'll always need you...I'll always love you," His voice strained, almost breaking. God, her beauty cracked his heart, "...And I will always miss you."

He gave her a smile seemed that to be mixed. Not a smile of joy so much as a smile of acceptance. What it could mean, Lorna had no idea, nor did she really care. She was perfectly happy right where she was and as long as he didn't try to squirm away from her, she could make sure that this night was memorable. For them both.
The hand that rested on his back began to move slowly, making its way up and down in short strokes. His shirt was thin but still covered entirely much too much of his body. Remembering her attempt at using her powers on him earlier in the evening, Lorna opted to use them in a more teasing manner. The fingers sparked slightly, her eyes growing darker as a result of the use of power. As she stroked him through the silken material, she gently left a charge where she touched, only drawing the charge back in to prevent the over abundance of static that could be caused. She wanted him to desire her touch everywhere. Not just on his back.
When she asked him to sing, he seemed almost relieved. Of what, she wasn't sure. Except that his lips brushed gently, oh too quickly, against hers, leaving her longing for more. The song was haunting, dark and husky. The words, while penetrating her mind, were lost in favor of his rich voice that was mesmerizing her. Kurt's forehead against her own, Lorna's hand wrapped tightly against his chest, she almost couldn't breathe at the closeness.
His breath on her face as he sang, she looked into his eyes, watching him. It was clear that they wouldn't be letting each other go until dawn and Lorna would have it no other way. "I'll always want you...I'll always need you...I'll always love you," His voice strained, almost breaking. God, her beauty cracked his heart, "...And I will always miss you."
His words took her breath away. The hand on his back moved up, toward his neck to find itself gently touching his dark hair. He was entirely too handsome for his own good. And it wasn't a traditional, knock her off her feet handsome. It was a dark, mysterious beauty that she had always found more attractive then anything.
He teased her, called her names that would get most anyone else in more trouble then they knew what to do with yet she trusted him more then anyone in this world besides her family. And she wanted him. The music still hanging in the air between them, Lorna wrapped her non-charged fingers in his hair and breathed his name. “Kurt...” she whispered before pulling his face to hers and capturing his lips in a kiss that spoke her wants more then her voice could.

Please, don't, he silently begged her, don't say anything...God help me...“Kurt...” And he was gone. Undone. She betrayed him with a kiss. He shouldn't be doing this... Kurt caught Lorna's offered kiss with a soft exhalation--half prayer, half curse--all song--and wrapped his arms tight around her, one hand tangling in her impossibly brilliant hair...fisting in the perfumed fall of emerald silk, forcing her closer still. Her mouth was so hot...burning him. He could feel her power wracking through him, a sting so sweet it bordered on pain...wanting so desperate it flirted with madness. He was mad. Kurt broke the kiss to drag his mouth, open and wet, along her jawline to press against her pulse that fluttered beneath the white skin there, teeth and tongue teasing the tender flesh pink. His tail lashed around her thigh, the spade hooking behind her knee, forcing her leg to rise, almost to his hip...he pressed against her, as his mouth sought the shell of her ear. God, she was beautiful--she was inside him, her power savaging his nerves, making him pant...making him growl against her. Hers was a violent beauty. Kurt yanked his head away from her, his eyes locked to hers, lips flushed violet from the kiss, breath rapid and shallow... He didn't speak, his lip raised in a snarl, his eyes suddenly tearing with desperation, and love, oh God, love that was tearing his guts, killing him. Kurt blinked--BAMF--and the garden disappeared, dissolving into the interior of his room. The smoke had barely begun to clear before he sought her kiss again.
