The deck overlooks the city of Hammer Bay. It extends the whole length of the house that faces the city.

Choosing to eat her breakfast outside on the deck instead of indoors since the weather was so beautiful, Lorna sat in one of the patio chairs that were lined up outside and picked up the morning's news. Not that any of it mattered, it just killed time until her family was finally ready to leave. One of the servants brought her food and she nodded at the woman, not really paying any attention to her. Picking up the slice of toast, she smeared the blueberry jam on it and ate it slowly. Wearing white was always tricky and although her napkin was properly placed in her lap, it was precarious.
The white linen tank top and short skirt were more for comfort then fashion as she had no doubt their vacation was going to be very laid back. That was fine with her. She'd had a very busy week socially and didn't mind just laying out in her newest bikini and letting the sun and water caress her skin. Turning to the social page of the paper, she saw a picture of herself with Sam from the night before in the club. The headline was hysterical in itself and she wondered why the paper even bothered. She wasn't news any longer, her sister was. Even her dad could care less what was printed about her in the papers and tabloids. Perhaps she should cut it out and have it delivered to Sam that morning. Have it sent to his room at the Triskellion.
Turning the page, there was nothing else interesting and she sat and sipped her tea while she waited. Patience was never a virtue of hers, as her mother loved to point out since she was born four weeks early, and it seemed that everyone else was simply taking forever. She really should have just gone back to sleep this morning when Sam was whisked away.
