Betsy didn't conceal the roll of her eyes at the little power play with Gambit regarding Joseph. If anything would affect his relationship with Rogue, it would be Remy's jealousy. It made Betsy glad of the promise she made to herself about not getting into a deep relationship with a teammate. Too many emotions that could hurt during a mission.
Logan stalked off, doing what Logan did best, tearing things apart, and Betsy shook her head. This was going to be such a fun trip. Looking over to Sean, she said, "There are spare uniforms on the Blackbird. I think Logan's in a bit of a hurry."
She had to change into uniform herself but that would be taken care of on the flight. Walking toward the door, she looked at the others who were staying behind and said, "Try to keep this place in one piece, kids. I doubt Charles wants another renovation bill."
With that, Betsy walked out of the War Room and down the hall toward the jet.

Kitty watched as everyone else blew up the emotions that were overflowing. "Um... anyone care to tell me if I'm going or staying or what?" She was getting a little antsy. Things got this bad only occasionaly when things were really bad. Nobody had told her what was going on, and if she missed the jet and she was suppose to be on it Gambit would pay.

She sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Keep us informed, Bets." Turning to Kitty, she half-smiled. "You're staying. Lucky, huh?"
Turning to Gambit, her eyes hardened. "You need to calm down, Remy. There ain't nothing happening here that needs that kind of reaction. You're gonna have your hands full with Callisto. You don't want to make the rest of us angry with you too."
She clenched her jaw, keeping herself from continuing the sentence further. Someone had to act like an adult, and as much as she had hoped that she'd be allowed to have a little free time now that she could leave the house, it looked like that someone was going to have to be her. Turning to Joseph, she sighed. He hadn't really done anything, but if she didn't say something to him too, there was a good chance that Remy would think she was taking his side. She shook her head and turned back to Kitty. "We're going to have to work out a babysitting schedule for our dear little Morlock."

Joseph didn't even merit Gambit's order with a look. The Cajun was jealous. No surprise there. He would stop goading LeBeau for now. The man was nicely digging his own grave with Rogue and Joseph obviously didn't need to give him too much more rope to hang himself with.
Wolverine moved at him with a threatening snarl. Joseph merely folded his arms across his chest and rolled his eyes as Logan threw a tantrum and sliced open a wall console. He stalked away, muttering something about getting Dr. McCoy and Magneto clones. He shook his head as he used his powers to cut the electrical current to the wires Logan had cut. Wolverine was a hot head and that was why he would never be much of a threat to himself or his genetic template. He wondered sometimes if the only reason Wolverine's foolishness hadn't gotten him killed was his healing factor.
Elisabeth rolled her eyes and shook her head at LeBeau's and Logan's antics. She started after Wolverine, telling Sean they would have a uniform for him in the Blackbird. She looked back at the remaining X-Men. "Try to keep this place in one piece, kids. I doubt Charles wants another renovation bill."
Shadowcat looked around, having realized she had missed something. Actually, she had probably not understood much of the power plays occurring in the room. She asked again what was happening.
Rogue decided to interject at this point, looking annoyed and frustrated. "You're staying. Lucky, huh?" she told Kitty, then turned her attention on Gambit. "You need to calm down, Remy. There ain't nothing happening here that needs that kind of reaction. You're gonna have your hands full with Callisto. You don't want to make the rest of us angry with you too."
Joseph barely suppressed a grin at the dressing down she gave LeBeau. Yes, if the Cajun didn't learn to control his jealousy, his lack of trust in Rogue would be the death knell for their newly mended relationship. He knew it would upset Rogue, but truly, if Gambit refused to trust her, he didn't deserve her. She looked at Joseph and sighed. He felt badly for his little snipe at LeBeau, merely because it upset her, and vowed to be on better behavior from then on. Honestly, it wasn't difficult to take the high road when one's competition was a thief with questionable moral character at best.
Rogue looked at Kitty again. "We're going to have to work out a babysitting schedule for our dear little Morlock."
"Let me know what I can do to help out, Rogue," he said softly. "My headache is abating." He glanced over at the torn console. With Dr. McCoy going to Washington DC, he would likely have to be the one to fix the damage. "I will be down here repairing the console if you need me." With that, he started towards the door. "I will just go fetch my tools from the storeroom."

Sean concealed his amusement at the interaction between Rogue, Joseph, and Remy. Hopefully the place will be in one piece when we get back. He watched Elisabeth leave and realised he should get moving. He didn't want to be left behind, no thank ye.
"Have fun!" He told them with a wry grin. As he passed Joseph, he whispered in an undertone.
"Dinnae over do things, lad."

He smiled as Logan seemed to agree with him on Joseph's presence. Unfortunately, the two of them seemed to be in the minority. All the women appeared to be siding with the clone. All of the women. He looked up as Rogue talked to him like he was a child. Right in front of Joseph. That was just plain wrong. Joseph was the one being a problem, why couldn't anyone else see that? He was obviously making moves on Remy's girl, and no one seemed to care!
As the man whispered something to Rogue, his anger rose. What was he saying? Anything he could do to help? The machine. Of course, Joseph had been planning to use it himself all along. He was just pretending to care about Remy's relationship with Rogue so that Remy wouldn't wise up to the real plan. Well, Joseph had another thing coming if he thought that was the case. Charging up a few cards, he flicked them silently into the busted console, smiling as it expanded slightly before collapsing in on itself as the air from the explosion escaped. "Oops. Better get t' work on it, Joseph."

Kitty had missed a beat when she walked in, but now it was pretty clear. Things weren't going well among the X-Men. You're staying. Lucky, huh? Kitty grimaced. "Depends what you call lucky." She was thinking about being stuck here with a couple guys who would rather rip each others throats out than work together, make that much less work together.
Kitty fumed as Gambit further worsened the damage to the machines. Obviously things were not going to be easy. Deciding to ignore it instead of jump in Kitty turne back to Rogue We're going to have to work out a babysitting schedule for our dear little Morlock. "And how would you suggest we do that?" Kitty didn't really know Callisto.

She tried to ignore Remy's little outburst, but when he decided to end it with a jab at Joseph, she was on the verge of losing it. Turning back to Kitty, she took a deep breath and tried to calm down. "Well, it seems as if the woman wants to kill both Joseph and Remy..." Turning back to glare at the Cajun, she continued. "Although right now that's lookin' like a fair option."
Sitting down, she ran a hand through her hair. "Well, Storm can watch her most of the time, but we're gonna want to give Ororo some breaks. The main thing is just t' keep her away from those two. Ah don't think that she'd try to hurt anyone else. Of course, we could just lock her in the danger room..."
She turned and rolled her eyes. Remy was still leaning against the wall, looking like an indignant child. Yeah, this was going to be a fun time for all.

Joseph whirled around as he heard the explosion and saw the hole Gambit had blown in the console. "Oops. Better get t' work on it, Joseph." He couldn't believe the man was so petty and childish that he would endanger everyone in the mansion with his little temper tantrum. Luckily for LeBeau, he'd already rerouted the power in that console, or they'd be looking at a fire or worse, damage to the mansion's electrical system. He stood a few moments, blue energy flashing around his eyes, trying to keep a grip on his temper.
Kitty and Rogue seemingly ignored the although Rogue did make some comment about letting Callisto kill both Gambit and himself. He was hurt by that. It was not his fault his presence had turned LeBeau into a complete boor. He was trying to be helpful, but because Gambit couldn't control his jealousy and trust her, it was his fault for being there. He wasn't taking this. And the Cajun was just leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, pouting like spoiled child. Anger, resentment and jealousy rose up in Joseph.
The crackling of electricity was the only warning that preceded Joseph lashing out at Gambit. He grabbed LeBeau with his powers and hurled him into the only wall in the room that didn't contain delicate electrical equipment. He glided across the room, the blue energy still crackling around his eyes, as he glared in to the Cajun's red eyes. "You are a childish fool," he snapped, slamming Gambit into the wall again. "Your temper tantrum could have hurt or killed someone. You are so selfish and narrow minded, you would endanger others, just to lash out at me? For what? Existing? I did not ask for that..."
Pain shot through Joseph's head and his powers wavered, cutting him off mid-charade. He'd over done it too soon again. He released his magnetic hold on Gambit and dropped to his feet, then to his hands and knees, gritting his teeth in pain and anger. He glared at the Cajun and through his delirium, strangled out one more sentence. "You don't deserve her."

Rogue was just about to add that they could program in some kind of environment for Callisto to live in that would be just like her natural habitat, when something went flying over her head. As it hit the wall across the room with a grunt, she realized just what "it" was. She shrugged, ready to chalk it up to Gambit acting like an ass. But then Joseph slammed him into the wall again and she jumped up and flew over the table. "Remy!"
Remy hadn't been expecting the normally mild-mannered Joseph to react like he had, and as he hit the wall and the room started to get fuzzy, he decided that the guy definitely had some issues. As he heard a familiar yet oddly distant voice yell his name, he smiled, ignoring Joseph's babbling. He felt a strong hand helping him up and he closed his eyes, trying to get the world to come back into focus. As Joseph sunk to the floor, his smile widened and his vision started to clear again, not a moment too soon.
She pulled Remy to his feet, making sure that he was relatively unharmed. He probably deserved getting hit, but being tossed across the room, into a wall? Repeatedly? He could have been seriously injured. As it was, it looked like nothing was broken. But still, it was just as uncalled for as Gambit blowing up the console. She turned and moaned in exasperation as Joseph himself sunk to the floor. Looking at Remy, she decided that he was okay. He could hold himself up, but Joseph seemed to be close to blacking out. Releasing her grip on Remy, she was about to turn and help Joseph when he spoke again, through gritted teeth, his words causing her to freeze. "You don't deserve her."
Remy was enjoying watching Joseph suffering. He had it coming. As Rogue half-examined him, he grinned openly. Not only did Joseph cause himself more pain than he caused Remy, but it didn't look like Rogue cared about the other man after all. Remy was the one being babied, wasn't he? Yes, yes he was. Joseph sunk to the floor and Remy resisted the urge to wave goodbye at the man before he went unconscious. At Joseph's words, the initial urge to kill the other man came back, and the wall that he was leaning on for support started to glow a soft pink. "Say dat again, homme. I dare you."
She was utterly speechless. She had no idea what to say, how she was supposed to react. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for her to deliberate. Had she been facing Joseph, perhaps she would know. But as it was, she noticed something that was a bit more pressing. "Remy. The wall." Once the charge was retracted, she grabbed Gambit's sleeve and pulled him toward the door. "We'll be upstairs. And Joseph... that was low. Lower than Ah thought you were capable of." Shooting an apologetic glance at Kitty, she pulled Gambit out of the room.
The voice once again bringing him back to the present he noticed the wall and pulled back, almost wishing that he had indeed blown it up. Maybe some of the shrapnel would hit Joseph and finish the job. He never took his eyes off of the other man as he was pulled from the room. Once in the hallway, he yanked his arm away from her grasp and stormed off to his room.
She watched him go and closed her eyes, sighing. Glancing back into the room, she briefly debated going back in. But facing Joseph was not what she wanted to do right then.

Kitty stared wide eyed as Gambit and Joseph had their showdown. Joseph wasn't that mean mannered from what she had seen, but then again Gambit was usually bouncing around somehow with his cajun accent and right before he had been pretty sulky. Kitty lept over to Joseph to make sure he was ok. She glared as Rogue made her last comment to Joseph. Was she only looking to incite more hatred among the X-Men?
"Joseph, Jospeh... can you walk? The infirmary is just over there." Kitty started to reach over and grab him around the shoulders to lift him up. She was just going to phase right through the wall into the infirmary, it was the easiest way. She hoped Joseph could support a little of his own weight or it would be bad.

Joseph stayed on his hands and knees, the room blurring in and out of focus. He heard Rogue speaking, Gambit snarl something at him. He blinked his eyes several time, trying to get his vision to clear. Rogue's last words were clear though drug LeBeau from the room. "And Joseph... that was low. Lower than Ah thought you were capable of."
Her words hit him as hard as if she'd struck him with all of her strength. A mix of anger and shame filled him. Yes, it had been wrong to attack the Cajun, and to let the words slip out. But truly, her precious Gambit had done lower things than that and she still favored him. Where had taking the high road, listening to all her talk of peace and protecting those who hated them gotten him? Nowhere. Anytime he even slipped from being calm and collected and gentle, he was dismissed as being just as bad as Magneto. Rogue's words may not have said it, but he tone did.
It was completely and absurdly unfair. He wasn't allowed to make one mistake, lose his temper, step out of line, to exist without having to deal with the curse of Magnus over his head. No one was ever going to see past it, see him for who he was. All they would do is wait for him to prove them right. The lights in the room flickered, responding to his unspoken rage. Which just made his head ache worse. He needed to calm down or he would just make himself ill again.
"Joseph, Joseph... can you walk? The infirmary is just over there." Shadowcat's voice surprised him. He had not expected anyone to want to come near him after he attacked Gambit like that. She took a hold of his shoulders, trying to move him towards the nearby infirmary.
He shook his head grabbed a nearby chair, pulling himself into it. "No, I will be fine," Joseph assured her, rubbing his throbbing temples lightly. "It was my own fault. I had the headache before I lashed out at LeBeau. Using my powers makes it worse. I merely need to rest." He looked over at the young woman and offer her a wan smile. "Thank you for your concern. Please forgive my fit of temper. As Rogue said, it was.....uncalled for."
Joseph let out a long heavy sigh. "Give me a few minutes for my headache to abate some and I will go fetch my tools and repair the console," he told her quietly. He might as well be useful as long as he was here.

"Joseph, you need to rest not fix the console, it can wait, really." She looked over at it. "I think the only fixing you'd be doing anyway is replacing it."
She thought that he was taking things a little to hard. Kitty wanted to say something, but didn't know what to, he was obviously older than her and probably wouldn't take her to seriously. Didn't seem like he did before. It almost had looked as if he was amazed she had volunteered to help him anyway, men.

"Joseph, you need to rest not fix the console, it can wait, really." She looked over at it. "I think the only fixing you'd be doing anyway is replacing it."
Joseph looked at the ruined console and nodded grimly. "Good point," he replied, letting out a long heavy sigh. He could do that as well. He needed something to do, something to take his mind of Rogue's words, Gambit's hatred and the world's general dislike of him. He was still surprised Kitty was even bothering to be concerned about him. He looked at her again. "I do not wish to be trouble for anyone, Miss Pryde. I came to here to help, not turn the mansion on its ear."
He didn't know why he told her that. Perhaps he thought her kindness was genuine, perhaps he thought she might listen. Either was, it had slipped out and he hoped she believed him. He didn't want to cause trouble. The only reason he disliked Gambit was the man's incessant, unreasoning hatred of him. Joseph didn't hate anyone, save for perhaps his genetic template, and even then, he mostly hated Magneto because he had made everyone in the world so miserable, Joseph was lucky everyone did not attack him on sight. Strike that, most people did attack him on sight or at least threaten him. And he'd done nothing to deserve it, save exist. He let out another long sigh. "But it seems it was naive of me to believe I would not."

I do not wish to be trouble for anyone, Miss Pryde. I came to here to help, not turn the mansion on its ear. She watched Joseph, but he didn't move. But it seems it was naive of me to believe I would not. Kitty sighed, she thought she understood what this man was having a problem with. His stupid genetic 'brother' was wrecking the world and anyone who saw him took it out on him. She assumed that was what was up with Gambit for sure, but who knew he was so unpredictable. Sighing she pulled over two chiars, one through the table, and sat on one.
"Joseph, you didn't turn the mansion on it's ear. That stupid moron of a magnet has caused your appearance to be hateful to oterhs, it's not your fault. And besides it's been pretty boring around here we needed some excitement." She smelt the console and remembered that. "You really should sit, I don't think that you should be working on that if you stressed yourself out anything like before." She reached down to give him a hand up.
