Betsy sat next to Sean on the couch and watched him fit the skates. He looked at her and grinned, saying, "Perfect, Elisabeth, they fit just right!"
Betsy laughed and replied, "Well of course. I simply walked into the shoe store and gave them the information you gave me. I'm glad they fit, though. I certainly was not looking forward to fighting that crowd again just to exchange them."
"So are ye ready for a good time?" he asked as a sparkle came to his eyes.
Betsy flung her head back on the couch and sighed dramatically, "I just got done shopping, Sean. Give me a bit of time to catch my breath." Then she glanced at him to see if he believed her or not.

"I just got done shopping, Sean. Give me a bit of time to catch my breath."
Sean chuckled at Elisabeth's theatrics, and looked into her eyes. He leaned in and kissed her lips softly. His eyes shone with mischief,
" Did shoppin' with Ash wear ye out that badly? Or was it the crazed last minute shoppers?" He remembered many a time shopping before Christmas.
"So, I guess that means ye dinnae want to take me to the mall anytime soon?"

Betsy smiled at his kiss then turned so that she was leaning in his arms against his shoulder. "Shopping with Ash was probably one of the best things I've done with her. She did brilliantly and her progress over the last two months has made it possible for her to go out in a crowded area and remain in control. I'm hoping to ease her into New York City soon, sometime after the holidays."
"So, I guess that means ye dinnae want to take me to the mall anytime soon?" he asked with humor in his voice.
Giving another dramatic sigh, she looked up at him and said with a laugh, "Perhaps we should wait until after the Christmas rush is over. If nothing else, it will be much more sane for everyone involved. Now, what sort of mischief did you get in to while I was gone?"

Sean looked at Elisabeth as innocently as he could, eyes wide,
"Mischief, me? I think ye have me mistaken for another irishman. Let's see, had a sandwich, brought one to Joseph, gave him that bracelet. Then I ordered me recliner and I jus' finished puttin it together. Want to go take a look?" His tone turned serious,
"I'm glad things went well for ye and Ash. Maybe when she's used ta me, the three of us could go into the city."

"You gave the bracelet back to Joseph? Good. How is he doing?" she asked him, thankful he hadn't had to hold it for long. She didn't care if she got in trouble for her part in letting Rogue go and do whatever but she didn't want Sean to catch any heat for it.
"A recliner?" she asked, a bit surprised that he had received it so quickly. "I much prefer my little couch. It's more comfortable," she said with a laugh. "But I'd love to see it. Just don't expect me to sit in it if you put it together," she teased.
"I'm glad things went well for ye and Ash. Maybe when she's used ta me, the three of us could go into the city," Sean suggested.
...the three of us... bounced around in her mind and Betsy shook off the image of her and Sean and Ash as a family like the words suggested. She knew he didn't mean it that way. "We'll see," she said without commitment. For some reason, the thought of "the three of us" bothered her but it wasn't his fault, just her own personal fears.

Sean gave Elisabeth a look of mock indignation.
"Joseph seemed better, and has probably left the med lab by now. I'm shocked tha' ye dinnae trust me skills, I have been known ta put things together a time or two."
He put his arms around her gently, not holding tightly or clinging. He gave her a wink,
"Aye, we'll see how things go, could be fun. Maybe revist some of me old haunts, I know where the food is excellent."

"We'll see," Betsy said with mock skepticism. "I'll make you sit in it first and if it doesn't break, I may brave it."
Sean put his arms around her gently and oddly enough, it comforted Betsy. She leaned in to him a bit more and when he said, "Aye, we'll see how things go, could be fun. Maybe revisit some of me old haunts, I know where the food is excellent," she laughed.
Turning to face him, she patted his bare stomach and said, "Leave it to a man think about where the best food is."

"Leave it to a man to think about where the best food is."
Sean laughed at Elisabeth's comment, and retorted,
"Hey, in me former line of work, it was survival. Ye can't expect years of training and instinct to just go away, now can ye?" He took her hand resting on his stomach, entwining their fingers.
"So, have ye caught yuir breath yet?"

"Okay, okay, if you are that eager to go, I'll go check out your new chair," Betsy teased. "On one condition."
Not elaborating, Betsy let him go and stood up, walking to her closet. Reaching for something on a shelf, she pulled out a decorated gift bag and said with a grin, "I picked you up a little housewarming gift while I was out but you can't have it until we get to your room."
Carrying the gift and stopping to pick up another bag was sitting next to her door, she said, as she leaned against her closed door, "I just have to drop this off in someone's room and I'm all set."

Sean took his skates of, and reluctantly stood. He stretched his muscles, and walked over to the door. He grinned widely at Elisabeth,
"A housewarming present, ach, ye shouldn't have. I have nae even started me Christmas shopping, it's been a while since I've had anyone ta buy for. Thank heaven for on-line shops."
He held out an arm for her,
"Shall we?" ((Continued in Banshee's Room))
