The Brotherhood Training Room is a close mirror to the Danger Room inside the Xavier Institute, complete with an opponent simulation system for combat training. The room is circular in shape, with a glass panel for the program control area being the only thing breaking up the pewter surface. There are also a few chunks of scrap metal lying around, primarily for Magneto's purposes.

Magneto entered the training room and stood in the middle of the circular room, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes. He started to levitate, pieces of scrap metal following him upwards like moths to a flame. He stopped midway between the floor and the ceiling and the scrap metal arranged itself into a crude ring around him. The ring started spinning, slowly gaining speed until it was a blur. It only did this for a few moments before hiss concentration broke and the pieces of metal flew outwards at great speed and collided with the walls, creating a resonant echo that travelled around the room.
Magneto let out a sigh and slowly rotated backwards in mid air, as if to lie on an invisible recliner. He floated there for a moment, staring at the ceiling while a stream of thoughts flowed through his mind.

She sidled into the control booth and observed him as he "worked." Taking a seat, she watched as he manipulated the scrap metal, flinching slightly as the pieces hit the walls. No matter how many years went by, she still was in awe at his control.
Leaning back, she watched some more, waiting for the right moment to make her presence known.

Magneto sensed a slight concentration of iron floating about at the bottom of the empty room. He opened his eyes, looked around and spotted Mystique in the control booth. He smiled when he spotted the look of awe on her face, he decided he would have a bit of fun and show off in front of her. He gathered the scrap metal from the floor into a rough clump of metal in front of him. He concentrated and brought his hands closer and closer together, compressing the scrap metal more and more into itself as he did so. His hands merged together to cradle an invisible sphere, mirroring the scrap metal which had now conpressed itself into a dense spherical mass about the size of a beach ball.
He relaxed his grip, the ball of metal hurling towards the metal floor. It contacted with a large thud, causing the room to vibrate briefly. Magneto dusted off his hands, as if he had performed a simple chore.

She smiled and rolled her eyes as the ball hit the ground. She had been spotted. Standing, she entered the room, the door whooshing closed behind her.
"It's a wonderful thing to watch until your ego gets in the way, Erik."
She morphed herself a pair of wings and hollowed her bones, then flew up to him so that she didn't have to shout to talk to him. As her wings beat behind her, she hovered in front of him. "You may or may not have heard, but Creed is on the warpath again."
She laughed and bowed her head. "Entirely my fault, of course. Is there anything on the agenda coming up, or is our Holiday going to be relatively uneventful this year?"

Magneto noticed Mystique's sly little smile.
"It's a wonderful thing to watch until your ego gets in the way, Erik."
"Now now, don't be so presumptuous Mystique. I was only exercising my powers, I can't help it if I'm a powerful mutant." Magneto hardly let his ego get the better of him, but he saw no harm in showing off once in a while.
"You may or may not have heard, but Creed is on the warpath again. Entirely my fault, of course."
"How like you Mystique, to go stirring up the hornet's nest." Magneto chuckled at the mental image of Mystique riling up Sabretooth in some way or another.
"Well I'm sure he'll be fine after a few days, though I would suggest that you don't leave your bedroom door unlocked too often."
"Is there anything on the agenda coming up, or is our Holiday going to be relatively uneventful this year?"
"I have nothing planned, that is unless you had a burning desire to spend Christmas outside of our base this year..."

She shook her head. "Can't exactly go visit with the kids. "
She thought about the phone call that she'd gotten from her daughter after she had been sentenced for her involvement in the break-in. "It might be fun to stand just outside the mansion's property line and taunt Rogue, though."
She smiled. "I was thinking about maybe taking some time, going to my place in New York. I have some things there that need to be sorted out, nothing too pressing. If I'm not needed here, though, this may be a good time to do it."

Magneto rolled his eyes. "Your immaturity never ceases to amaze me sometimes Mystique, I'm sure your energy could be used more efficiently elsewhere."
"I was thinking about maybe taking some time, going to my place in New York. I have some things there that need to be sorted out, nothing too pressing. If I'm not needed here, though, this may be a good time to do it."
"New York? Well there isn't any reason in particular that you need to be here, I don't see why not. How long would you be gone for?"

She smiled as he commented on her maturity. "I'm entitled to be immature, I'm decades older than you are, young man."
She didn't like to tell very many people exactly how old she was, as she found that it made them take her somewhat less seriously at first, but there was no way that she could hide it from Magneto, given the fact that they often spent a lot of time together, strategizing and the like. There was no way to explain some of the knowledge that she had other than to admit her age.
"New York? Well there isn't any reason in particular that you need to be here, I don't see why not. How long would you be gone for?"
She thought about it for a little bit. "Maybe two weeks? There are a lot of loose ends there that I need to tie up. Mostly things regarding Irene's posessions. There is still a great deal in our home in the city that has yet to be... put away."
She'd tried to avoid doing it for as long as she could, but she decided that it was probably about time to get it over with. A part of her didn't want to admit that Destiny was dead, but another part of her, the part that most of the people who knew her knew, wanted her to just move on. That and the fact that there were a few things there that should not be given the chance to fall into the wrong hands. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that she did need to go. And soon.
With one final beat of her wings, she swooped back down to the ground, landing softly and changing back into her natural form. She looked up at Magneto. "If you don't need anything else, I'd like to leave tonight."

Magneto knew it wasn't easy for her to think about Irene, and he knew what it meant to cope with the loss of a loved one.
"Take as long as you need, these things take time and we can manage by ourselves here."
"If you don't need anything else, I'd like to leave tonight."
Magneto smiled and decided that he should lighten up the morbid mood.
"Well, it's just that I hate to see you go...but I love to watch you leave." He smiled deviously with this remark.

She smiled. "Keep dreaming, Erik. Do me a favor and tell the boys that I'll be back sometime soon. The address and everything is still in the computer, in case anything goes wrong or you need me to pick up more kitty litter for Creed on the way back." She waved and exited the room, stopping by her own room briefly to pickup her passport and some other small items, then left the complex and took one of their small jets to America.

"H-hello gefe."
Magneto noticed Moss enter the room. He floated to the ground and addressed Moss face to face, unwavering in his stoic expression.
"Que pasa?"
"Well I guess you'll be the first one to know, Mystique is leaving for a few weeks to take care of some personal matters. So you won't have to worry about her everytime you see a stranger...at least for a little while. Now is there anything specific you wanted, or is this just a social call?"

"I was gonna train but... adonde... where did she go?"
"She went to New York, that is all you need to know. Though I doubt you could find her there anyway."
Upon hearing that Moss wanted to train, Magneto decided it was the perfect opportunity to kill off his boredom.
"You said you were going to train...how would you like to try out the simulation?"
