((Started so this had somewhere to go))
His bag over his shoulder, Rusty ran through the academy, not bothering to slow down for minor inconveniences such as stairs or doors.
Bolting out, he nearly hit the front door before skidding to a halt, opening it. Glancing around, he didn't spot Jono, Ms. Frost, Sharon, Sabastian or any of the others. He was actually the first one there. He wasn't just on time, he was early.
Savouring the sensation, Rusty dropped his bag, glancing over as the limo Emma customarily used pulled up. Not wanting to get in, in case he was doing the wrong thing, Rusty stood nervously, picking up his bag to wait.

Jono was pulling on his black leather duster as he emerged from the mansion. He had already contacted all the Hellions he knew of in the school. Emma would get anyone he'd missed. Hefting his bag over one shoulder, he walked carefully down the icy walkway.
The red headed bloke from the kitchen, Rusty, was already waiting by the limo. Chamber nodded to him as he came to stand next to him. He didn't offer any of the information he had gleaned from talking with the White Queen. She'd taught him better than that. She'd tell the kids what she wanted them to know when she got here.
Dropping his bag to the ground, Jono leaned against the limo. He looked over at Rusty, who looked nervous and eager to go. He couldn't blame him. Snow Valley was a small town, in a rather remote area of Massachusetts. It had been huge change for him when he'd first come here. He'd grown up in London. The culture shock of moving from a big city in England to a small town in America had been hard on him, the facade he'd had to keep up to hide his mutation from the other students made it all the worse. It'd taken him awhile to adjust to the change and he'd never felt completely comfortable. But this was only place he'd ever belonged at all and Emma Frost treated him like a valued pupil, which was better than anybody else had treated him since his powers erupted.
Chamber looked over at Rusty. He wondered what this kid's story was for moment. Then he dismissed it. He wasn't nearly as nosy as the White Queen. Still, a little small talk never killed anyone. < Everyone else should be on their way, > he 'said' idly. < You been to New York much, mate? >

Sabastian made his way slowly through the mansion, he wasn't in a rush. It had been Jono NOT Madame after all who had called him, and though Jono was working under her orders, if she hadn't intervened at this point, he was still ok on time. He pulled on a black jaket over his black turtleneck and picked up his bag. He supposed he would have looked Gothic but for the fact that he was dressed neatly. He walked up to the limo, he had been right, he was still on time.
" Lo' Jono, been a long time my friend" He held out his hand to the other man, noting that his style of clothing hadn't changed much. " Your lovely little message this morning left me wondering if I was dreaming. "

Emma walked through the school halls, knocking on the doors of anyone still procrastinating as she made her way to the entrance. She still had her briefcase with her as the contents were too precious to leave up to a limo driver.
Opening the door, she was pleased to see that some of the students were already waiting for her. “Good morning, Rusty. Ready to get in the limo so we can leave?” she asked the red headed boy.
Walking to the limo, her coat keeping her warm in the cold temperature of Massachusetts in December, Emma climbed in the door that was held open for her and nodded at the other two. She was only going to go over what was happening once and she would wait until everyone was there.
In the meantime, she allowed the students to converse amongst themselves as she opened up her case and drew a file out. As she read the report that was in it, she half listened in on the conversation around her.

She walked out, tugging at the collar of Jono's turtleneck sweater. It was tall, and she couldn't seem to get it to fold down. She shrugged and instead pulled it up, so that it covered part of her chin. Setting her bag down near the limo, she waved at everyone standing around. "Am here."

Standing nervously next to the limo, Rusty was counting clouds in his head to stop himself from figeting or starting a fire to see what would happen, when
< Everyone else should be on their way, > he 'said' idly. < You been to New York much, mate? > Jono's voice called into Rusty's head, startling him. He hadn't heard the guy approach. "Me in New York?" He asked. "Not really. I've been to a few big cities but...not properly, you know? I was in the navy for a bit so I sort of passed through a few places but we didn't really stop and go sightseeing or anything. Just headed straight to bars to get as drunk as possible for as long as we were portside."
Caught up in the memories for a moment, he was still paying a bit more attention and saw Sabastian arrive. " Lo' Jono, been a long time my friend" He held out his hand to the other man, noting that his style of clothing hadn't changed much. " Your lovely little message this morning left me wondering if I was dreaming. "
Ok, they knew each other. That wasn't too surprising, Rusty knew Sabastian had been at the Academy for a long time. Ms. Frost arrived but didn't join them, standing off to the side reading a file or a report or something that was likely very important and complicated. Rusty wished her well of it, if anyone was going to be able to stop this bill, it was her.
Sharon arrived looking quite strange in Jono's turtleneck, apparently having a little bit of trouble getting it to fit properly "Am here." She announced, voice muffled as she spoke through the cloth. Rusty grinned to himself, that was definitely a very Sharon moment, not managing clothing properly and stating the obvious.
One day, Rusty supposed, she'd get a handle on human customs, modesty and speech, but it probably wasn't going to be any time soon.
Sighing, he rubbed his hands in the cold, wishing his powers let him heat himself up rather than just setting stuff on fire. If it got much colder he might just be tempted to try it but until then, remaining burn-free was definitely the aim of the game.

Rusty replied to Jono's question, talking about spending time in the Navy. Chamber wondered if he wasn't a bit young for that, but kid didn't seem to be lying. He nodded in response as Rusty seemed to lose himself in his own thoughts.
Jono watched as Sabastian emerged from the mansion. They knew each other from when Chamber had attended the school before. He pushed off of the limo as Dark Matter greeted him. “Lo' Jono, been a long time my friend,” Sebastian observed, extending a hand. “Your lovely little message this morning left me wondering if I was dreaming.”
< Blimey mate, > Jono chuckled, shaking his hand. < I hope you bloody well dream about prettier things than me. > Sabastian had been one of the few students he had associated with when he'd gone to school here. < Good to see you again too, Sabastian. > He let go of Dark Matter's hand and returned to leaning against the limo.
The White Queen made her way to limo next, dressed in a white fur coat. He nodded to her, noticing how she immediately dived into her paperwork when she arrived. Not everyone was here yet, so that didn't surprised him. Emma made announcements once and didn't like to repeat herself.
Sharon seemed to be the straggler. She came out of the mansion, struggling with the turtleneck he'd loaned her. She couldn't seem to get it folded down and it was covering half her face. “Am here,” she announced through the sweater.
Chamber couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. Poor gel, he knew what a pain these bloody sweaters could be, he'd been forced to wear them for years. He stepped away from the limo and walked up to Catseye. < Let me help you with that, luv, > he offered gently. < There's a trick to it. > He moved to fold the collar down properly, if she would let him.

She flinched slightly then let him fix the collar. Once she was free of it, she looked around at the group assembled. The limo parked in the driveway was very tempting. It was probably nice and warm. Her attention was diverted as a small rabbit hopped lazily from behind a bush. She watched it, using all of her self restraint to keep herself from stalking it. It would probably taste good. No. It wouldn't. People don't catch wild rabbits and eat them raw. She needed to be a person, not a cat. She looked towards Emma and scrunched up her nose, trying to figure out what Emma was reading. Maybe it was something interesting. Only one way to find out.
Climbing into the limo, she sat down next to Emma. "What is?"

Emma glanced up as Sharon asked, in her own way, what she was reading. Motioning for everyone to settle down, Emma set the file on her lap and looked at them. “As I'm sure you are aware, we are heading into the city for the holiday. There are a couple of reasons for this and although I hesitate to mention it, you are all old enough to understand the significance,” she spoke as the limo began to pull away from the school and toward her private air strip.
“”While you are enjoying the sights and sounds of New York at Christmas, I will be in Washington. There is a new bill before Congress that, if passed, will have a very negative impact on the lives of all mutants, ours included. I plan on making sure the bill never sees the light of day.
“While I'm gone, I want you all to enjoy yourselves. Do some shopping, act like tourists, whatever you want as long as you don't draw attention to the fact that you are mutants. I have a credit card that will be issued to each of you so you can do what you want. I don't know how long I'll be gone but you are staying at the club until I return. I don't distrust the security of the Academy but with myself being gone, I feel much better having you in the anonymity of a large city,” she concluded as the limo pulled them up to the entrance of her jet.
The driver opened the limo door and as they all exited and entered the jet, Emma just hoped that she was doing the right thing, uprooting them all at this time.
