This is the training area for SHIELD. There is a room that uses technology not unlike that in the X-Men's Danger Room, as well as a general gym area with exercise equipment, a pool, and basketball courts. The complex is open to any member of the army, as well as high ranking officials in the government and their guests.

Carol walked into the training area from the door that lead to the women's locker room. She had wanted to engage in some physical activity to get her blood pumping.
Carol had her hair up i am ponytail to keep it from falling into her face and was dressed in a black shirt and shorts. Which was the official SHIELD training uniform.
She passed the weights without looking at them twice. Making her way to a lock door. Putting her hand on the scanner ride beside it, you could hear the soft computer sound of her identity being accepted and the doors slid aside. Not that SHIELD was that easy the security system not only scanned your physical aspects but it also scanned mind to check the persons identity.
Carol stepped into the a large empty room. It uses holographic intelligence with hard light to make the place somewhere people could 'cut loose' without fear of what might happened.
"Computer, start the program Marvel Alpha Five." she said outloud. In seconds the previously empty space was filled with heavy machinary as well as foes with special abilities, all intended to do one thing....hurt Carol. Too bad that she had a wide range of powers at her command.
"Begin!" was all she said and the program began to run. Two men quickly attacked with energy beams...not a problem. She was able to go into the air dodge them.
A gun mounted on the wall began to hit her with energy shots. Each time with a bit more force behind them. Carol would not let that stop her. Using her incredible strength, she ripped it from the wall and tossed it at one of her assailants, taking him out of the fight.
The othe was able to move aside and send a beam at Carol with impressive force. Too bad that the air was Carol's element. Flying was a power she enjoyed and could easily get out of the path of the beam. He fired one after another and after another...still Carol manuvered between all of them and came down hard on him with momentum, backing up her Super Strenght. He was nothing but pieces on the floor after that.
Then came her next opponent, big guy twice her size. This was going to be long drag out fight...she could not wait.

It was usually the best time to hit the training area, most people were either still working on assignments from the day or already focusing on dinner. So when Rogue walked into the suite and heard the familiar hum of the holographic projectors, she simply had to investigate. Grabbing a pair of dumbbells as she passed the rack, she slid quietly into the control booth. Not surprisingly, Carol Danvers was having a go at what had to be the toughest looking foes available on the program. As she looked down at the weights in her hands, she wondered idly if Carol even really had to work out. Wasn't being crazy strong a part of her... whatever she called it?
Rogue was pretty sure that it was. That, and she could fly. Flying looked like a lot of fun. Turning away from the window, Rogue made her way back down to the main training area. There was really no use in staring wistfully at a power that was ten million times better than her own. Or watching Carol effortlessly toss someone that Rogue couldn't even move. Not really a great motivator, observing someone who can do things like that without breaking a sweat. Speaking of sweating... As she finished her reps with the dumbbells, she took off the hooded sweatshirt that she'd thrown on. It was more habit than anything, always wearing way too much clothing. She really had no reason to do it anymore, since she'd figured out where in her head the on/off switch was for her powers. Of course, sometimes the switch got jammed in the "on" position, but once she calmed down, took a few deep breaths... she was able to get it back where she wanted.
Tossing the shirt aside, she settled herself in on one of the rowing machines. From the looks of it, it would be awhile before she got a chance to use the holo room, and there was no sense in just sitting around and waiting. Setting the timer and the difficulty, she tied in and programmed it for a 2000. Just a little warm up.

Carol hit the wall...hard. It left cracks actually. This is what she needed to jog her memory at the fact that she had changed the program in order challenge herself.
Shaking off her daze she lifted up and used her legs to push of a wall. While flying at her foe she put both of her arms straight above her, hand in a fist. When she connected the creature stumbled back. It was their turn to be dazed.
But Captain Marvel did not stop there, running full speed she grabbed on to his head and using her legs she slammed to his chest. The result was instant decapitation when she pushed off him while holding his head firmly.
"End Program." she said, making the room once again go empty.
She felt good nothing like a good fight to get your blood pumping. Perhaps she would take a swim.
Exiting she found Rogue doing some work on a rowing machine.
"Hey." she called to her, "sorry if I was hugging all the high tech toys. You should have joined me, you are brawler...always good to have at your back." she told her with a smile.

Finishing off her exercise and wondering exactly what had posessed her to start off with something like that, she looked up and nodded as Carol came out of the other room. "Hey. Sorry if I was hugging all the high tech toys. You should have joined me, you are brawler...always good to have at your back."
Releasing her grip on the machine, she leaned back and returned the smile, panting. She untied and swung her legs around, wiping sweat from her forehead. "Aw, don't worry about it. God knows Ah'd only hold you back in there." Standing up, she stretched before making her way to the water cooler. "Besides, it's always a helluva lot of fun to watch you work."
Taking a paper cup, she filled it and took a long drink. She would have offered one to Carol, but she wasn't sure that the other woman needed any water. As far as she could tell, she didn't even break a sweat. And that program that she'd run was one that would have killed Rogue within minutes. Not that Rogue was jealous. Oh, fine. Maybe a little bit. But she'd never tell Carol that. Crinkling up the cup, she tossed it into the trash and started toward the basketball court, looking over her shoulder at Carol. "Quick game of H-O-R-S-E?"

"Aw, don't worry about it. God knows Ah'd only hold you back in there. Besides, it's always a helluva lot of fun to watch you work." Rogue said with a smile as she wiped the sweat from her forehead. Then she got up and went to the water cooler. Filling her cup she emptied it quite fast.
Carol really liked Rogue. She was sincere, no fronts about her. She was who she was, and did not apologize for it.
Rogue turned and started going to the basketball court, then looking back she said, "Quick game of H-O-R-S-E?"
Carol smiled a full smiled, then she ran to catch up.
"Okay, you are on. But on two conditions, no powers. And that you try not to hate me too much when I clean you out, Anna." she said fixing her ponytail, she was joking of course.
Running to the middle of the court she picked up the basketball, then passed it at her teammate, "Since it was your idea, you go first."
Carol loved competition as well as spending time with others, this was right up her alley.

She nodded. No powers was a great idea, especially when Carol's powers were much more likely to aid her in the game than Rogue's were. "No powers. You know that's fine with me. As for you beatin' me... no chance in hell."
She caught the ball and grinned. This would be interesting. Dribbling a few times, she backed up to the three point line and aimed. After bouncing on the rim for much longer than she was comfortable with, the ball went in. As she stepped aside and pointed to the place where she'd been standing, she raised an eyebrow. "Now you know that since we ain't usin' powers, you've gotta pretend to have the strength of the average thirty-something woman, right? So no 'across the room' shots. Unless you intend on sharin' your abilities, in which case this game would get much more interesting."
She smiled to let Carol know that she was kidding about the sharing part and stepped aside to let the other woman take her shot.

The woman was off to a good start...three points. Still Carol kept grinning like it did not matter.
Carol stepped right up to the place Rogue had left a couple of moments ago, "Here right."
Taking the basketball in her hands she bounced a couple of times. Then lifted it up and shot it. Hit the backboard before going in.
"There you go...sugar. Whats next." she said after she returned with the ball for Rogue.

She nodded as Carol positioned herself for the shot, and sunk it. Frowning, she caught the ball. Mockery? Mockery and an actual challenge? This was not good. For Carol, at least. Moving to another part of the court, she took another shot, sinking it as well. Basketball was much easier when there wasn't a fuzzy cloud of sulfur BAMFing into your line of sight.
She raised an eyebrow, looking back at Carol. Trash-talking, it seemed, was allowed in this game. One thing was for sure, Captain Crunch over there was not going to win. And if she did (which she wouldn't), they were going to play again. Even if Rogue had to force Carol to. As if Rogue could actually force Carol to do anything. Carol would probably just smash Rogue into a small compact clump and toss her out the window.
"Next, Ah kick your ass six ways to Sunday." Oh, yeah. Just a friendly game.

Rogue caught the ball with ease. Then moved on to the next position.
Carol could see the fire in her eyes. The determination behind the this young woman's exterior. She loved every minute of it. The fact that Rogue had seemed a little bit ticked of at the 'sugar' remak made her smile.
Still she was a bit worried when she saw Rogue sink the next shot without thinking about it twice. She should have known the girl was quite experienced at this. Especially since there had been talk that this was one of her brother's and her's favorite pasttime. Clearly Kurt had the advantage with his teleportation still...you could never tell with Anna.
Looking back at Carol she said, "Next, Ah kick your ass six ways to Sunday."
Carol laughed, she should have spent more time with Rogue...her attitute was almost intoxicating.
Grabbing the ball Carol positioned herself in the next postion...concentrating she shot. It seemed that it was not going to be so good. The ball went round the rim for what seemed an eternity, leaving Carol with nothing but prayers. Still as if God, had heard her the ball lost it's momentum and sank through the net. She was speared...but for how long.
"Almost missed that one, but I'm still here." she told Rogue with a wink.

She watched the ball circling the hoop, hoping that it would catch a breeze or just plain decide that it didn't want to visit with the hoop. No such luck. The ball went in with a clear swooshing sound, bouncing a few times before Rogue collected it and started to plan out her next shot. "Almost missed that one, but I'm still here." Rogue looked up, catching the wink and chuckling. "Not for long, Danvers."
Moving up to just above the baseline, she dribbled for awhile before lining up the shot. Taking a deep breath, she juped, following through and cursing almost immediately. "Dammit..." the ball bounced off of the rim and came back at her, boucing just before she caught it and promptly bounced it rather hard against the floor. Catching it again, she passed it back to Carol, flipping one of her braids back behind her. No way was she going to lose. Not today. Never mind the fact that she was already pretty worn out and Carol could probably have gone on fighting whatever it was that she was fighting for the rest of the evening... at least that's how Rogue thought the other woman's powers worked. Clearly, she was at a disadvantage, but that had never stopped her before. She was going to win.

"Not for long, Danvers." Rogue told Carol as she dribbled down and shot the ball. It was almost as soon as the ball left Anna's hands that she cursed, "Dammit"
The ball bounced off the rim. Rogue had missed the shot. It was as if the Basketball Gods were smiling down on Carol.
Taking the ball she headed toward the free throw line, but turned to face the opposite basket, "This is one of my favorite shots." bending backward she saw the hoop upside down.
Sure Carol looked funny but hey this was a good trick, "Used to practice it tons of times when I was in High School."
Then she threw the ball, it hit the back board and went it. Carol had sunked it. Not really thinking she did a slight dance. Then she realized that Rogue was looking at her.
"Hmm, your turn now." she said regaining her composure.

Crossing her arms, she simply stared as Carol made a fancy shot. There really was no other way for her to react besides glaring and muttering. "Showoff."
She caught the ball as it fell from the hoop and moved over to the spot where Carol had been, wiping her hands off on her shorts before positioning herself. Turning back to Carol, she frowned. "You do know that mah regular opponent spent a good deal of time in the circus, right?" Turning again, she leaned back, sinking the shot. Cracking her back, she gestured toward the ball with a grin. "That felt good."
She moved off to the sideline, allowing Carol to use whatever part of the court she felt necessary. As utterly fantastic and amazing and wonderful tha Cap'm thought she was (and hell, Rogue thought she was pretty neat, too), she was going down.

Rogue stood at the free throw line and said, "You do know that mah regular opponent spent a good deal of time in the circus, right?" then she sunk that shot. Afterward trying to be the little sassy girl she is, Rogue cracked her bad and stated how good that had felt.
Carol could not help but laugh. "Oh Anna, you are something else, too bad I am going to have to take you down a couple of notches."
With that she went to the middle of the court, dribbled all the way down and went up for a lay up, which of course she made.
She looked at Rogue and gave her a wink as she tossed the ball back.

Rogue had a feeling she knew where this was going. Stepping closer to the hoop, she crossed her arms and got ready for it. Carching the ball, she simply smirked. "Well... Ah would love to but there's one problem. Ah'm afraid there's a flag on the play. Flying. No one takes a layup from that far back."
She pointed to a spot on the floor, fairly close to where Carol had stopped dribbling and started "jumping." There was a good chance that the other woman hadn't actually used her powers, but there was much less of a chance that Rogue would make the shot. She wasn't too good on the inside, preferred making her shots from the back where it was nice and empty. Then again, she had never really played a game of basketball that was a full out contact sport, for obvious reasons. The same reasons that she never got into barfights. Well that and the fact that most people knew who she was. That put a damper on all trouble-making. It did help getting dates, though. And that was a good thing.
