Sean thought he was doing well in the chess game. Until Kitty gave him a little smile, and trapped his king.
“Check mate.” Darn. He'd lost. Oh well, winning wasn't everything, and he'd already won quite a bit that day. The danger room session and more importantly, Betsy had proved to him that he'd truly won her heart. He was an engaged man. He smiled at Kitty, telling her sincerely,
“Good game! Ye are verra good at this. I hope ye'd like ta play again sometime” Then he heard Kitty's stomach rumbling. He looked at the clock, it was nearly dinner time. He started to put away the chess set. He gave Kitty a grin,
“Ready for dinner, Kitty? With the inspection going on, it'd probably be a good idea for ye ta eat dinner wit' the rest of us. I promise, we don't bite,” He thought to himself, 'Not in public, anyways.' But he didn't say that out loud.

Thankfully, the game was finally over. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy Mr. Cassidy's company. Far from it, he was one of the easy going teachers and genuinely cared about the students. It was the topic of conversation that made her uncomfortable. Kitty wondered if she could escape after dinner.
“Good game! Ye are verra good at this. I hope ye'd like ta play again sometime,” he told her with a grin.
Kitty pondered it for a few seconds and then replied with, “Oh, sure. Anytime, Mr. Cassidy.”
Her stomach decided to embarrass her and make it's hunger known. “Ready for dinner, Kitty? With the inspection going on, it'd probably be a good idea for ye ta eat dinner wit' the rest of us. I promise, we don't bite,” he said, the humor obvious in his tone.
She bit her bottom lip at that, not really feeling up to socializing with the others but knowing there wasn't too much to be done about it. Nodding, she walked out of the Rec Room.

“Oh, sure. Anytime, Mr. Cassidy.” Sean put away the chess set, smiling as he did. Then he was noticing that he was hungry as well. This had been an incredibly long bizarre day, even for the school. There had been some crazy days, but this one went down in the books. Definitely.
And tonight, they had their engagement to celebrate. If Bets didn't shoot him on sight, but Sean wasn't too worried about it. He knew how to get himself out of trouble. In fact, he was very good at it. He followed Kitty out of the rec room, ready for dinner. Kitty didn't seem very enthused, but that was not a surprise.
