This is the entry way to the Mansion. The front door is a set of double doors with french style handles. There is a long, Oriental runner that leads from the door to the bottom of the stairway to the second floor. There are two closets, one on each side of the door, for coats and shoes. Along each wall rest two wooden benches for sitting. The floor is pure wood, kept polished and pristine.
Two hallways lead from opposite ends of the foyer. Down one hallway is the Recreation/Relaxation Room and Administrative Offices. Down the other one is the kitchen and dining room. A hallway behind the giant staircase leads to the back yard.
Directly behind the staircase and embedded in the wall is an elevator that goes to both the second floor and the basement. Embedded in the opposite wall is a staircase that leads to the basement.

With the blue guy inviting him in, Nathan took a few steps, just crossing the doorway. He stopped dead in his tracks though when his father arrived. He was a mess, so many emotions clouding his aura right now. Who are you? He stared a hole into Nathan, eye to eye. Nathan didn’t back down. Looking right into his father’s eyes, he said “Nathan Christopher Charles Dayspring Summers.”

Mindee, Phoebe, Sophie and Celeste had finished all their classes for the day. And like most children their ages they had felt that the classes would not end. Some of the girls felt like this more than the others, namely Celeste.
The main reason Celeste likes school is the boys. Sure she is good at subjects, she could be better if she applied her herself like her sisters do...ok not Esme. Esme doesn’t care about anything. She disliked the lectures the teachers gave always saying: ’Why can’t you be more like Mindee?’ You could replace the name with Sophie or Phoebe. It was always like that. But finally it was all over.
The girls walked around the Institute. There wasn’t a destination, more just a wondering around you get when teenagers are bored. They just walked and walked. Looking for the next thing to keep them occupied...say for the next half-hour. Hell, half-hour would be lucky. It was usually good to have Esme around for this time. She would always ‘bewitch’ so poor student into doing something odd. Just for the sake of the girls having a good time. Sure, the other girls always said it was not nice and she should not do that. But secretly they enjoyed in and were always waiting for to see what else would Esme come up with.
They were heading toward the front of the Mansion when they heard the doorbell; “Maybe it’s a new student.” said Celeste enthusiastically. The other girls knew that by ‘new student’ she actually meant ‘new boy’. After much pleading with them the rest of them, Celeste convinced them to go up there.
Mr. Worthington had already answered the door. His anger always shone. In reality it seemed that Mr. Worthington needed a good lay, so he can get out that extra tension out. Mr. Summers was there as well. But before they could say anything they felt something coming from him. Emotions were pouring from him like a fountain. There was anguish, pain, loss and anger. It came off him like waves. Who was this young man who had caused this to their father.
Then they felt stronger emotions. Immediately they knew they were coming from their mother. This was not good. Mrs. Grey was one of the world’s strongest telepaths yet here she was sending out enough energy to fill up a psychic void. What was going on here, why was everything going to madness. If she wasn’t careful she would shatter the mind-blocks of the less trained children.
<Girls, gather around Jean and try to protect her mind from broadcasting as much as you can. Your mental powers and your physical presence may be just what she needs to pull through this,> Ms. Psylocke was rousing them psychically. She must have felt the position their mother was in.
<On our way> they said quickly heading toward their mother’s office.

Ash was right behind Scott. He hadn't said anything the entire walk and confirmed with Ash that there was definantly something about this 'new student' that didn't fit. This would normally excite her as a chance to get out of teaching and do something that sort of fit under the catagory of adventure, but Scott was too upset for that. No right now she was worried. She tucked a piece of stray hair behind her ear. She really hated not being a telepath sometimes. You were left out of the loop a lot.
She entered the foyer a little behind Scott, her musings and his gait had left her a little behind, just in time to hear the student introduce himself as the Summers' son. Ash paled, and stopped in shock. She'd never known what happened to Nathan, how he'd died, or even seen him that much, she had been only sixteen at the time, but she remembered him, and that he'd died. People don't come back from the dead. No wonder Scott had acted so strange. In fact, she was acting just like him.
She look at the boy for a moment, he was part cyborg and one of his eye's glowed a bit. He was old though... he couln't be that old... could he? He looked to be late teens, that much time had not passed. She took a few uncertain steps, running a hand through her red hair once more. This couldn't be him, he was too old, and the boy was dead. Her voice was steady when she spoke, though it wasn't much. "Scott? He.. can't be.. right?"

Just when she seemed to be getting a good enough grasp on her emotions, the boy at the door answered, < I do know, and I’ll tell you everything, if you’ll let me. > The hint of comfort laced his words and Jean was torn. She wanted to believe him, but common sense told her that her son was gone, and she didn’t want to be set up for heartbreak all over again. She had a feeling Scott would feel the same.
Knowing how erratic her emotions had become, Jean concentrated on keeping up her shields as best as she could, knowing Esme was helping as well, and felt for Scott. His emotions mirrored her own, and she could only hope he wasn’t sent into mental overload from their rapport. Keeping her mental walls up she spoke in a low, soft voice, not too loud but not lacking a bit of emotion, < He wants to explain. > Taking a deep breath she continued, < I think we should let him. > It was hard for her to say so, given the possibility that there was a high percentage that this was not their son. But something told her to hear him out. To at least give him a chance to explain. She wasn’t going out there yet though. There were too many feelings flying through the air as it was, and she needed to get a hold of them before anything happened.

((Cross posted from Scott & Jean's Admissions Office))
“I believe we can help with that.” said the rest of the girls joining their sister and their mother. Using their abilities to connect with each other, the girls were able to use their super mind to establish a very strong mental shield around their mother. The emotions she was feeling were now only hers. The rest of the telepaths would not know what was going on unless she contacted them directly.
Speaking as once they said, “It is done.” They also forced reassurance into their mother. Letting her know that they would do anything in their power to help. At the same time the Five-in-One were busy. Using their collective psychic strength they began to form a map of sorts. They stretched out as far as they could and registered if there were any other telepaths using their powers. The registered Ms. Psylocke in the sub-levels. Some of the students were using psychic powers as well, even though they were all using them to shield themselves. At the front of the mansion was another psychic power and this one was active. He must be the one talking to their mother.
Using their powers they quickly sent the boy a warning. <Leave our mother alone. > they told him icily, <If you continue to this, we will rip your mind apart. Believe us when we say we can, and rather easily. >

“Nathan Christopher Charles Dayspring Summers.”
No, it couldn't be. It was impossible.
Scott flinched inwardly with every syllable. Not that he hadn't known what the young man would say, but to hear the name spoken out loud was painful in itself. Not to mention Jean's emotions pouring across their link uncontrolled was starting to overwhelm him completely.
He heard Ash behind him, barely registering her question. "Scott? He.. can't be.. right?"
How could Scott tell her he didn't know? He could barely keep his emotions and thoughts separated from Jean's, let alone discern if they teenager standing in the foyer was his son. He stood there stock still, trying to find his voice, think, or do anything but stare mutely. But it was impossible. His mind was not built to deal with the rush of emotions.
Then he could feel the emotions fading, now they were a trickle instead of a flood. Jean had calmed down, gotten her shields back up, or she'd gotten help from Betsy or the Cuckoos, or both. Scott took several deep breaths, pulling himself together and restoring his composure.
< He wants to explain. > Jean spoke in his mind, soft, but steadier than she had sounded before. < I think we should let him. >
Scott nodded slightly, still a bit dazed by the sea of emotions he'd been bombarded by. < He'll be explaining, all right, > he agreed tersely. Now that he was only dealing with his own emotions, his composure was restoring itself. And he was angry. Angry at himself for not being able to keep up his mask. Angry at this boy for showing up and claiming to be who he was, angry at him for reminding them of what they'd lost, for hurting Jean so much. If he wasn't who he claimed to be, he was in for a world of pain. If he was...well, Scott would cross that bridge when he came to. < I'm bringing him to you. Now. >
"Come with me and you'll get your chance to explain," he said to the teenager claiming to be his dead son. "Warren, Ash...Jean and I are not to be disturbed unless there's an emergency that can't be handled without one of us. We'll let you know when we're done." With that, the headmaster of the Xavier Institute turned on his heel and strode back towards to the office he shared with his wife.

"Nathan Christopher Charles Dayspring Summers"
The words struck Warren like an anvil. Each one pounded on his heart with the force of a sledgehammer and he felt his insides tear apart. Every instinct told him this person was a fake, it wasnt possible that this could be true. He felt his back twicth as his wings begged to be let free to cleave this impostor's head from his shoulders in a clean swipe. However Warren also saw the look on Scott's face and decided to follow his lead.
"Scott? He.. can't be.. right?" Ash had said. Warren couldnt have agreed more.
"Come with me and you'll get your chance to explain,"
"Warren, Ash, Jean and I are not to be disturbed unless there's an emergency that can't be handled without one of us. We'll let you know when we're done."
"Don't worry Scott, I will make sure you guys arent bothered, if you need me I will be just outside the door."
Warren turned and followed them down the hall.

When the two men had gone, Cable was still there and Ash gave him one of her most fearsome thin lipped smiles that she was famous for around the school. Well at least amongst the kids. These smiles generally meant bad news. She blocked 'Nathans' way and walked up to him, "just a minute..." Her green eyes glittered with cold fire as she looked at him waiting just a bit longer to make sure the two men were out of ear shot, "Now." She said, " I don't know who you are, if you really are Nathan or not, but I will tell you one thing. You have managed to shake Scott up, and I know you've hurt Jean. I'm not a telepath, but if Scott knows, Jean knows. Now I may just be a small girl, but I'm not weak, and believe me when I say, if your NOT Nathan, and you hurt either of them any more... I will hunt you down and burn you to a crisp." She was dead serious. She considered the Summer's a part of her family, and NO ONE hurt her family and got away with it. So if this boy was lying, he had better say some prayers, cause she was not forgiving.
She turned to follow Scott and Warren, after all Scott had asked the two of them to make sure that the Summers and this boy were not disturb. Pausing she glanced back, "Their office is this way," She said, fake sweetness dripping from her words, " Oh and, Welcome to Xavier High, Institute for Higher Learning." With that she flashed him a very sweet and VERY cold smile, making a mental note that she would have to remember to flash that same smile to Gambit sometime, she would love to see the reaction it got from him.

Their was no response from his mother. Still, he could fell the intense emotions coming from her at least for a little while. Her feelings faded away until they were just barely noticeable and that was only because he was ‘listening’ for her. That was until he was interrupted by a strange telepath who referred to herself in plural.
<Leave our mother alone. > they told him icily, <If you continue to this, we will rip your mind apart. Believe us when we say we can, and rather easily. > There were a lot of things Nathan didn’t like about that statement. The first being the mother part. They shouldn’t have had more children that were old enough to have powers. Of course, he shouldn’t have had powers yet either. Sometimes, things happen. The feeling of this person was odd. She felt like one brain, yet their seemed to be five separate strains of consciousness. Nathan blinked and his glowing eye turned red. He was using heat vision to locate the source. It wasn’t easy considering the amount of students inside the building. But with the telepathic trail, he was able to find them. It was in fact five girls. Strange indeed.
The next unsettling thought was the threat. They couldn’t do that to him, could they? He was a telepath himself and his mind worked differently than most. Plus, he had shields. The point was to keep himself safe from other people. He hoped they were strong enough to stop an invasion, because he definitely wasn‘t leaving. < I’m afraid I can’t do that. They’re my parents too, and I’m not leaving until I know what that entails for us. >
The room was deadly silent for the few moments after he said his name. The first one to comment was the red haired woman who followed his father in. "Scott? He.. can't be.. right?" She seemed oddly familiar. He could have sworn she was one of the students around when he was born. Maybe she was, things certainly had changed.
His father was staring a hole into Nathan. Or so he assumed from behind those glasses. His aura was much more focused now. It was anger. This certainly wasn’t the happy reunion he had hoped for. It was the kind of reunion he planned for though. Essex always taught him to plan for the worst, and expect the best. That definitely applied to this situation. Finally, he spoke. "Come with me and you'll get your chance to explain," They would hear him out, good. Now, he only needed to make them believe he was who he was. After the order for privacy was given, his father left the room.
He was about to follow when the redhead got in his way. She didn’t look happy either, no one did. Her speech was short, to the point and echoed the looks he was getting from everyone around. If he was a fake, they would all kill him. Maybe he should have a raffle or something. After she gave chillingly sweet introduction, she followed behind the others with Nathan not far behind her. Oddly enough, Nathan wasn’t frightened or intimidated by all the threats and looks, only encouraged. Essex never showed emotion, about anything. The spike in his feelings around him only made his new life that much more appetizing.
