Ash blinked in the darkness of her room as her alarm beeped at her. She fumbled with it for a moment before she was able to turn it off. Groaning she cralwed out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. She was not a morning person. Bleary eyed she stared at herself in the mirror. SHe was a mess. Rubbing her face she took the reached for the ponytail holder she left on the bathrrom sink and pulled her hair back securing it at her kneck. Ash turned on the cold water and splashed her face with it.
Ash went through the motions of getting up and ready for a new day in the dark as usual. She'd done it enough times she didn't need the light and she hated it when her eyes hadn't adjusted to the dim light from the sun that peeked in through her curtain. Finally she threw the cutains open and squinted out the window. It was going to be a beautiful day. Ash stayed at the window and watched some birds flying on the early morning thermals and smiled, she'd always wondered what it would be like to fly. She was sincerely jealous of the mutants at the shcool who could but never said that.
Finally she headed back to the bathroom to finish her hair. THat was the one thing she didn't dare do in the dark. She could never get it right and neat enough. She emerged from there a few minutes later, hair in a bun and a little bit of makeup on. Now she looked fresh, but she didn't feel it, "Coffee." she said to herself and headed to the kitchen.

Ash navigated the stairs quickly. After flying with Warren, walking seemed like such a drag. The foyer was empty and Ash's mind flashed back to Nathan. It was strange that someone would show up claiming to be him when he was obviously too old... It was strange that that someone should look so like Scott, and even more strange that people were considering the possibility that this boy could actually BE Nathan.
She shook off the feeling and walked down the hall to her room, opening it and leaving the door open behind her. SHe wouldn't be there long. She popped open the screen to her personal laptop and waited for it to load up. AS fast as these computors were, there was still some waiting time.
And what about Sharon. That cat had scared her so much. How is it possible that the cat could be a mutant? Besty wasn't even able to explain it... Why hadn't the telepaths caught it? Maybe she was getting their powers mixed up, but she would have sworn that Someone should have been able to tell. Hadn't Besty said something about signatures to peoples thoughts or something liek that... perhaps cats didn't think...
Ash leaned over and typed in her password on the computor. At least she wouldn't have to worry about her failing students anymore. Scott had been wonderful about htat... even though she still did feel bad about them failing, and even though Scott had given her the 'your not a bad teacher' speech, she had some doubts. SHe KNEW she wasn't a great teacher. But she did know her subject. Her students shouldn't be failing...
Sitting beside her desk was a letter. Well at least the Warren problem had turned out fine, even if what he had said had been correct. She needed to concentrate on not letting things get out of hand like that.
Ash frowned. SHe didn't recognize the address on the envelope. Had this been there this morning? She opened the letter swiftly and began to read it. At first she was confused, her eyes flickered to the bottom and then back up. No way.
"Oh god." She whispered, and held out a hand to grasp her desk. Her original task forgotten.

She read the letter through three times. It was definantly from her aunt. Her aunt. How many times had she seen her growing up. Two? Maybe three times? Her mom's sister prefered to stay away from the family. Ash had never known why. As far as Ash knew, her aunt was her only living relative, and she had no idea that her aunt knew she was still alive. She had disapeared off the map after the PMCF. disapeared and left, what she had thought, no trace.
Ash pulled her suitcase from her closet, mind racing. She couldn't believe she was doing this, but she had to. It could very possibly be a trap, but if it was, she was a full grown woman now. SHe could take care of herself, and if she were gone too long. The x-men would find her. but she didn't think it was a trap. This person knew too much about her, before her mutation, to be a fake.
She stuffed all the clothes she would need in the suitcase, grabbed some shoes and entered the bathroom. She quickly cleared the neccesities from the sink and they followed everything else into the bag. If this letter was telling the truth, she needed to leave immediatly. This could be her only chance...
She put her laptop into a protective bag and slung it over her shoulder. Grabbing her cell, key's, and purse she walked out of her room and headed down the stairs. She needed to tell someone she was gone, but as far as she knew Scott and Jean were still talking to their son, and they had made it clear they weren't to be disturbed... besides, it would be easier to explain her rash actions after she left, not convince them to let her go...
She made a quick descision. Heading toward the garage she pulled out her cell.
