((Enter Magik from Limbo))
The instant the stepping disc appeared in her room, Illyana set her Soulsword down on the desk. It lay there, quietly pulsing with energ as she pulled off her standard issue Red Guard training clothes, setting her cowl on the bed. The leggings and top reeked of alcohol and Limbo stink, not the kind of scent one wanted to keep close to them at all times. She'd wash the cowl later.
Pulling on a new set of clothes, she pulled her hair out of her face and sat down at her desk, hands folded neatly before her. Something was astir. The very air seemed to be tingling with energy. She wondered what was going on. One did not live in Limbo for years without gaining a perceptive sixth sense about things being out of whack, and her world smelled very similar to the way it had when she slew Belasco. Change was afoot.
She hoped she was wrong.

After leaving Anna-Marie’s room Carol had realized that she did not have anything to do for quite some time. Perhaps she would head down the recreational suites that Triskellion had to let their soldiers unwind. Should be fun, well perhaps not. There was so much that Carol could watch on the tube that was chosen by someone else. What could she say she liked to be in control.
Using the elevator to reach the lower areas, she turned right into a hallway. There were a few people in the corridor. Some nodded to Carol. They were sweet. Even though Carol would not ever admit it to anyone, she did not know who the people who nodded to her always were. She felt sort of bad about it. But hey she was only a super-human.
Finally reaching her destination, the doors slid open in front of her. Oh crap. There were at least 15 others here and even though the room was quite spacious, you could still feel crowded. She was about to turn around when she saw an agent that she had been giving the eye to on the sofa. What’s a girl to do but sit, in the open spot. Just as she made her way toward him. Her communication link sounded.
“Agent Danvers here.” she said over it.
The almost machine like reply came soon after that, “We are having some problems Agent Danvers. Gamma flank was in charge of apprehending a certain group of super powered criminals. Unfortunately, they were torn apart as well as the other two flanks we sent behind them. We need the Red Guard.”
“I will round up the rest of the team. The Darkholmes are at dinner with the Royal Family, so we will take care of it. I want Beta team backing us up. We will meet at the coordinates in 15 minutes. Captain Marvel out.” she responded as she headed back to her room. She did not think that they really needed another team to back them up. But Mystique would be livid if they did not.
Reaching her room she got dressed in her Red Guard uniform. And headed to find the rest of the team. She would stop by Magik’s room and contact Northstar through his own communication device.
“Northstar, it’s Captain Marvel. The Red Guard has been called. Meet at Magik’s room in full uniform. We leave in five minutes. Got it?” Carol said through the device. She waited for his response as she knocked at Magik’s door. Hopefully she would be there.

Her com link, being buried under the weight of her cowl, might have beeped. Before she got the chance to even think about investigating a small, metallic sound, however, there was a rather insistent rap at the door. Sighing, Illyana teleported her Soulsword back to Limbo before opening the door. The sight of a rather large sword sitting on the desk of a Red Guard member probably wouldn't have caused anyone to bat an eye, but she felt better having it stashed back home where it was needed rather than sitting there, humming at her.
Grabbing the cowl off the bed, she tossed it over her shoulders, despite its foul smell. Pulling the hood down around her face, she opened the door, expecting to see Mystique fresh from her dinner with the royal family, ready to reap revenge. Instead, it was Ms. Marvel. "Yes?" she asked, leaning against the door frame, blocking the entrance with her form. The cardinal rule about her room was that no one got in besides her. Her space, her sanctuary.

“Hello ladies,” Jean-Paul called ahead of him, rounding from the direction of his room. Suited up, he tugged his gloves a little more firmly into place, fingers flexing, curving into fists. Every inch proper, from neat hair to clean boots, alcohol’s soft fog had left his manner completely; it lingered dry in the back of his throat, but that was survivable.
He glanced at Illyana over Carol’s shoulder, a bare upsweep of his eyebrows standing in for a curious look. He transferred his gaze to Captain Marvel, relaxing into a state of loose attention.

The door was soon opened. There in the threshold stood Illyana Rasputin, code name Magik. Illyana’s mutant power was the ability of teleportation. Not instant teleportation like Nightcrawler but she had complete control over what she calls ‘stepping discs’ this allows unlimited teleportation between two points. Magik can use these discs at any time so projectiles are basically useless against her.
"Yes?" she said while she looked at Carol. Captain Marvel noticed how she did not invite her into her quarters. The girl was not too friendly was she. At the same time she heard Northstar’s voice over her communication link. Good. That meant that he would be there shortly.
And shortly it was.“Hello ladies,” Jean-Paul called right before his arrival. Northstar’s mutant power was super speed along with the ability to fly. He was fast. Right up there with Prince Pietro. Only the prince could not fly, that was one up for Jean-Paul. Captain Marvel looked at the new arrival and nodded. He was in full uniform, which was must when going into battle. The Red Guard must be recognizable.
“I love your timeliness, Northstar.” Carol said, “Here is the situation team. Three SHIELD teams have fallen. They are trying to apprehend a group of mutant terrorist. They did not believe that it would be that hard. But it seems they are well prepared. Now it’s our turn. We have approximately 7 minutes to get the location. We will have a team backing us up though, not to sound to confident I do not think we will need it.”
Captain Marvel looked at Illyana, “This is top priority, full uniform needed. Do you think you can teleport us the old theatre just outside of Hammer Bay?” Carol was sure that she could teleport them, but it was polite to ask, “Any questions?”

“Hello ladies.”
Illyana nodded at Northstar over Ms. Marvel's shoulder and then focused her attention back on the other woman. Who apparently had deemed herself the leader for today. Oh, goody. This was going to be fun.
It wasn't that Illyana disliked Carol. She was simply a little too eager for her own good sometimes. At least her news today was of some interest.
“Here is the situation team.
Finally, some action. The Soulsword leapt into her right hand at the barest whisper of a thought. Hopefully, neither Carol nor Northstar would make a fuss about the sudden appearance of a sword in their companion's hand. If they had been paying attention at all during her time with them, then they should know to expect such quirks in behavior.
"Sounds worthy of a look around," she said.
And the Carol looked meaningfully at her. “This is top priority, full uniform needed. Do you think you can teleport us the old theatre just outside of Hammer Bay?”
Illyana didn't even try to mask the rolling of her eyes. With a wave of her hand and a few magic words, she had transformed her workout clothes into the proper Red Guard attire. Giving Carol a smirk that clearly read, "Happy now?" she walked into the hall, closing her door behind her.
"I just got back from New York. Hammer Bay isn't even a challenge." The smirk only faltered a little. "We'll still have to go through Limbo so you might want to bring your demon repellant."

“I love your timeliness, Northstar,” Carol said, a comment that brought an instant light of smug satisfaction to Jean-Paul’s eyes.
Superiority acknowledged, his lips curved in a slow smirk. “I’m rather fond of my timeliness as well.” He liked being fast. He liked it a lot.
Though his features faded to studied blankness, a hint of something smug remained about his bearing; it was as much a part of him as his speed or his eyes and hair. He was smug. He was superior. It was his resting state of being.
Sobered to listen, he asked, “What sort of mutations will we be facing?” He was all for rushing -- he wasn’t so keen on rushing into trouble without any information.
Jean-Paul’s gaze dropped to Illyana, conveniently clothed in proper uniform. “I’m afraid I left that in my room,” he said, sarcasm slithering off his tongue. “Maybe you can just magik—” He edged the ‘k’, mocking pretension. “—a bit up for us, hmm?”

Northstar face was full of smugness, but really when was it not like that, when he responded to Carol’s comment, “I’m rather fond of my timeliness as well.”
“Yes we are all aware of that.” Captain Marvel said in a teasing tone.
After Carol told the rest of the team of the situation, Magik was the first to speak. When she turned to face her, Carol noticed that she had her Soulsword in her hand, "Sounds worthy of a look around,"
“What sort of mutations will we be facing?” Jean-Paul asked, clearly wanting to be prepared for the assignment.
Carol looked between the two as she responded, “Good question Northstar. We have reports of pyrokinetic. Maybe two. There is also at least one telepath; we will need to have our scramblers on, to keep them off our back. They have been able to id one of the criminals, Mammomax; his mutation has turned him into an elephant of sorts. He has super strength and endurance.” the next part Carol said, you could tell her disgust, “He can also spit up his stomach acids, which have incredible potency. Besides those there is an estimated two others. We won’t know about them till we get there.”
Magik pointedly rolled her eyes when Carol asked her to change into uniform, but she did agree to teleport them all, "I just got back from New York. Hammer Bay isn't even a challenge." her smirk only faltered a little. "We'll still have to go through Limbo so you might want to bring your demon repellant."
Limbo, demon dimension Illyana was caretaker of. Carol had never really gotten to talk to her about it. So she did not know the background on her taking control of it. All she knew it was filled with demons...always fun.
"I'm afraid I left that in my room,” Northstar said, sarcasm slithering off his tongue. "Maybe you can just magik—” He edged the ‘k’, mocking pretension. “—a bit up for us, hmm?”
Captain Marvel shook her head slightly, “I don’t think we will need it that much. From what I understand we will only be there for a second, am I right?”

“I’m rather fond of my timeliness as well.”
Illyana shook her head slowly at the both of them. Sometimes life was a chore. Dealing with a pocket dimension full of demons, stopping super powered criminals and putting up with Jean-Paul's endless list of almost witty but undeniably self-centered comments. They would have been easier to bear if certain people--she leveled her eyes at Carol--didn't insist on encouraging him.
The Soulsword pulsed dimly in her hand with her slight aggravation as she waited for Carol to list any information she might have on the objects of their mission. When she finally did speak, it was well worth the wait.
“Good question Northstar. We have reports of pyrokinetic. Maybe two. There is also at least one telepath; we will need to have our scramblers on, to keep them off our back. They have been able to id one of the criminals, Mammomax; his mutation has turned him into an elephant of sorts. He has super strength and endurance. He can also spit up his stomach acids, which have incredible potency. Besides those there is an estimated two others. We won’t know about them till we get there.”
She bit her lip to keep from laughing, but it didn't work. "He's turned into an elephant with the ability to spit up incredibly potent stomach acid? And he calls himself Mammomax?" The laughter continued, even though it was a harsh sound. Nothing bright or cheerful. Illyana didn't laugh much. Still the idea of a giant, acid-spewing elephant was completely too much to take seriously. "I'd imagine he'd couldn't be more frightening if he launched himself off a building and crushed everyone below him."
The others didn't sound like too much of a problem. Telepathy was almost a moot point for her, but the elephant man and the pyrokinetics could be interesting to subdue. She had just been complaining about the lack of recent activity. Be careful what you wish for.
“I’m afraid I left that in my room. Maybe you can just magik—” He edged the ‘k’, mocking pretension. “—a bit up for us, hmm?”
Jean-Paul was still going for flippant. She sighed and smirked right back at him. Fire with ice. "I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you."
“I don’t think we will need it that much. From what I understand we will only be there for a second, am I right?”
The Soulsword flickered, humming in her mind. "Well, Carol, I wasn't planning on sticking around, but you're more than welcome to. Consider it a new form of training."
((OOC: Everyone cool with me NPCing you to Limbo and then to a thread in Hammer Bay on the next round?))

Sam may not have had Jean-Paul’s speed, Hell, he couldn’t even pick up his communicator from where it had laid just outside his shower in response to the general message before Danvers echoed over the device in response.
There he was, in the middle of washing his hair, having just left the gym when trouble came up. It always seemed the way and Sam sighed to himself painfully as he hurried to finish getting the last trace of soap off his body. Sometimes this job could be a bother, and this was one of those times but he couldn’t trust Carol to give him even a minute. She had said fifteen, and she meant it. A meeting place would have been nice though.
Sam had to sigh for a second time as he climbed from his shower and quickly went to work putting on his uniform. A wet member of the Red Guard was something that Raven would put up with before she would stand him being late. As for where they would be meeting, he could guess.
A few seconds later one very damp Guthrie was making his way down the hallway. His uniform was damp and clinging to him, and in addition to the otherwise standard uniform he was wearing a sizable scowl. A glance from Sam dared Jean-Paul to say something and risk being put though the nearest wall.
He has just heard the tail-end of a warning about demons, and the thought hadn’t even phased him.
“Glad you waited… we ready to leave kiddies?”

((OOC: Carol and JP skipped with mod permission. Sam NPC to Limbo with player permission.))
“Glad you waited… we ready to leave kiddies?”
Illyana cocked her eyebrows at the sight of Guthrie and his slightly damp, clingy uniform. "I suppose you're going to stop the criminals in their tracks with your impressive physique."
Then she eyed her companions. Four was an even number, which meant they could easily divide into two teams. Of the three, Guthrie was probably the least likely to make her want to drop him in Limbo and leave him there for a lifetime. Even though she and Jea-Paul got along decently, his constant "look at me" attitude quickly got old. And Carol? Carol simply rubbed her the wrong way.
"Despite the massive amounts of fun I've been having, what say we split up. Guthrie and I will meet you in Hammer Bay in a snap. Ciao." Before Carol or JP even had the chance to react, Illyana called forth two stepping discs, one beneath her feet and the other under Sam's. "Hope you brought a demon stick, Sammy boy. You could probably use one."
((Exit Magik and Sam to Limbo.))
