The kitchen is very large and spacious. The appliances are nice and new. The fridge is well stocked, as are the cabinets. There is a dishwasher under the sink.
The dining room has several long tables with chairs. More than enough for the students and faculty.

Betsy walked down the hall toward the stair and the first floor, listening as noises came out of bedrooms of students and other adults getting up for the day. Her long ponytail swayed softly as she walked and she considered some information that they had received the day before. It could be useful, it may not. It was hard to tell at this stage of their plans but no matter, the source was reliable and that made the information worth mulling over.
Pushing open the door to the dining room, she passed through it to get to the kitchen and noticed she was the first one up. Flipping the switch on the coffee pot that had been prepared the night before, she made sure there was water in the tea kettle and turned the stove eye on to heat up. Then she walked to the fridge and began to pull things out for breakfast.
Before long, the sideboard in the dining room was full of bagels, muffins, bread, butter, cereals, milk, juice, anything that could be imagined for breakfast. The counter in the kitchen had eggs, bacon, sausage and ham set on it for whomever wanted to cook a hot meal.
The tea kettle calling for her, Betsy prepared her cup and sat down at a table with at toasted bagel and cream cheese. In no time the room would be busy with other diners and life would once again wake up in the sleepy little county of Westchester, the outside world completely clueless as to the true nature of this school for mutant children.

Sean walked into the kitchen to find he and Betsy were the only ones up. He toasted a bagel, and fixed his own tea while he waited for it to finish. He carried everything over to the table, and took a seat next to Betsy, trying not to wince at the stiffness in his right knee. He leaned over to kiss her softly on the cheek,
“So, this should be a fun mornin’. Me first class ta teach is “bar room brawling 101”.” He chuckled at his nickname for his class, which was unarmed, no powers combat. Something he had some good skill at, from all the fights he’d gotten into, especially right after Maeve’s death. But that was the past, and he’d moved on. His eyes sparkled with mischief as he turned to her,
“Ye didn’t have any plans for tonight, did ye? If ye are free, I have an idea of somethin we could do.”

Sean came in and although it was extremely subtle, Betsy could see the slight limp in his walk as well as sense his discomfort. It was a part of their relationship that was still a bit awkward for her, being so in tune with his feelings and emotions. She highly doubted that Sean would ever be able to hide his true feelings from her and it wasn't something she had done on purpose. As he made his breakfast, she finished hers and waited for him to take a seat next to her. It wasn't odd for the two of them to be up first although the others should be joining them soon.
Sean sat down and winced as he said, “So, this should be a fun mornin’. Me first class ta teach is “bar room brawling 101”.”
Giving her lover a smile, Betsy turned toward him and automatically began to massage his knee. She had learned over the years exactly what techniques worked to loosen the muscle and simply to alleviate the ache. Adding her own special touch of mentally blocking most of the pain, she said, “That should help you through your class. I have a session with the telepaths. Walks through the Astral Plane are always interesting with teenagers. We'll be commandeering the Danger Room for that since our bodies will be left unprotected for the time and I want to make sure they are completely safe.”
Then Sean leaned in close to her, his eyes giving off a familiar sparkle of mischief and said suggestively, “Ye didn’t have any plans for tonight, did ye? If ye are free, I have an idea of somethin we could do.”
She didn't have to read his mind to know what he was thinking of. Not able to resist teasing a bit, Betsy thought about it for a long moment and said, “Oh, I was thinking a field trip into town to see a movie with the students sounded like fun. Did you have something else in mind?”

Sean sighed in relief as Betsy massaged his bad knee. She always knew when he was hurting, even with out him saying a word. She was very good for him, when he was feeling depressed, she could bring him out of it. He grinned at her as she described her class. The astral plane, still not somewhere he felt altogether comfortable in.
“Sounds like a fun mornin for the both of us, luv.” He finished his bagel, and turned to her as she replied to his question,
“Oh, I was thinking a field trip into town to see a movie with the students sounded like fun. Did you have something else in mind?” He put a hand on her shoulder as he answered her,
“Oh, Aye, I had somethin a little quieter in mind.” Then he leaned in to kiss her lips, before someone else decided to walk in.

Remy waked in the Kitchen and dining rooms and halted dramatically at the sight of the two love birds. With a mock offended expression, he exclaimed “Getta room, you two.” Replacing his expression with a smile, the Cajun winked at them and walked on into the Kitchen. Betsy was one of Gambit’s greatest failures. He followed that beautiful woman home thinking he could get in her pants. Somehow, he wound up with a job, a legitimate job. She must have used telepathy on him or something. What’s more, she already had a bedmate, and she stuck to him like stink on bad Jambalaya. What a shame?
Remy’s first stop was the coffee pot to get his first serving of everyone’s favorite drug. That’s what coffee really is, a drug. Most people are dependant on it by the time they turn twenty. Even decaf drinkers have a cup in the morning. That’s a drug, and Remy was just as addicted as anyone else.
With his cup in hand, Remy hopped onto the counter in the corner looking out at the entrance to the dining. With one knee up and the other leg hanging, he said “ ‘as anyone seen de first couple dis mornin’?” He was referring to Scott and Jean, and the others knew it. Gambit often called them that, lovingly of course.

Alex made his way from the weight room to his room. He needed to ready himself for the day. This was just normal routine. Every morning was the same. As Alex showered and dressed himself, he thought about this impossible dream and what it would mean to the world. Peace was never an option. There was never peace. The humans and the mutants would always fight each other until one was extinct. It was inevitable and impossible to stop.
When Alex was fully dressed, it was time for breakfast. This was also apart of his normal routine. After breakfast, things start to change. Otherwise, Alex would go crazy with boredom. Sean and Betsy was already in the kitchen as Alex walked in. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Remy jump onto the counter. Alex headed straight to the coffee first, where it looked like Remy just came from. He never bothered with tea like the British Asian and the Irishman.
“ ‘as anyone seen de first couple dis mornin’?” Remy asked the room. It was odd to not see Scott and Jean up. Actually, it was just odd that Scott hadn’t posted a schedule on the refridgerator for today’s activities. Scott was just that anal to do it, too. After pouring himself a cup of coffee, Alex searched the fridge for something to make.
“I haven’t seen them,” Alex said simply. He didn’t doubt them to be walking into the kitchen at any moment but Alex wasn’t holding his breath for them. His existence on the X-Men was solely because of them but he didn’t follow them around like a lost puppy. It was his choice to be at the school. The dream was surviving on a handful of people and it wasn’t enough. They needed much more than that if this dream were to survive.

Betsy could sense Remy walking toward the kitchen before Sean even kissed her. If it had been one of the students, she would have stopped him, simply due to propriety's sake but this was one of their teammates and an adult. Granted, the fact that her and Sean shared a room without a legal bond was pushing it big time as it was but Betsy never was one to play by the rules, even in her younger days.
Betsy smiled under Sean's lips as she heard, “Getta room, you two.”
Breaking the kiss off, she looked over at Remy in time to see him wink. Still smiling, her dark brown eyes twinkling, she replied, “We have one, thank you. Now, it would be nice if you used your own for more then a place to hang up your clothes and store your treasures, Remy. I believe I can count on one hand how many times you've slept in your own bed in the nine months since I brought you here.” It wasn't like Betsy pried, she just could sense where people were at any given time, one of the “joys” of being a telepath. It wasn't a secret with her that Remy liked to sleep outside of the mansion.
Standing up, she gathered her and Sean's dirty dishes and took them to the sink, placing them in the dishwasher. Sensing Alex come down the hall, Betsy cleared the path to the coffee pot, knowing that he would like a cup, and leaned against a chair. Alex looked fresh from working out and a recent shower. Smiling at the blond haired man, Betsy said, “Good morning, Alex. Have a pleasant night?”
Remy jumped up on the counter, Betsy giving him a proper glare, then he asked, “ ‘as anyone seen de first couple dis mornin’?”
Alex spoke up saying he hadn't seen them and Betsy frowned slightly. Shaking her head, she replied, “Scott was up late last night so perhaps Jean took pity and let him sleep in.” If there was an issue, they would have let her and Sean know about it. After all these years, the four of them had learned to trust each other completely. The hardest part had been letting others in on that trust but the longer she got to know her fellow “X-Men”, the better Betsy was at it. Most of her hesitation still stemmed from her time before she even met Charles Xavier.

Ash walked into the kitchen still yawning. She stopped when she entered and let the smell of coffee wash over her, " Coffee!" She breathed and headed straight to the pot. When she had a cup in her hand, filled to the brim she sighed and took the time to look around. There were no students yet, just the x-men. Good. She liked it that way. She could tell by Alex's wet hair that he had been in the weight room in the morning as usual, probably before she was even awake. Why people would get up that early she would never know or try to understand the thought behind that.
She smiled at Betsy. Ash had taken to the older woman since she'd first come to the mansion. She always felt comfortable around her, no matter what. She couldn't say that for many other people. She looked over at Gambit and frowned, "don't you realize your setting a bad example for the kids. We don't like them sitting on the counters, so why should we abide you? Besides... they are probably cleaner than you." She took a sip of her coffee to hid the smile that was crawling on to her lips. The cofee must be working it's magic. She was feeling better all ready.
She looked around at the others, "So whats the agenda for today? Anything new come up?" she hoped something had. She didn't like teaching, but she had to to be a part of the x-men. Otherwise there wouldn't be an excuse for a twenty six year old woman to be at a school for mutant children. Of course, what the x-men did wasn't exactly top of her priority list either. She didn't really like helping humans, but it allowed her to stay with the only people she could call family, and so she did it. Like it or not.
She thought about the classes she would have to teach. The first one being Chemistry. Oh how she had loathed Chemistry when she was younger. Now it was at least a little enjoyable. One had to stretch ones brain power to understand it. Of course, she also had to interact with the kids more, which was also not top of her priority list, but then, what was these days? Not much.

The identical Stepford Cuckoos walked in to the kitchen. Their mind had picked up everything that had been going on. Mostly teachers teasing each other. It was refreshing to see that these people knew how to have fun as well.
"We are so hungry." was what they said in unison. All the girls were wearing basically the same outfit just on their colors of choice. They notice that Mr. Cassidy and Ms. Braddock were seated close to each other, as usual. Ms. Spencer was drinking her money cup while teasing Mr. Lebeau about sitting on the cabinets...
The girls just noticed a stray thought from one of their own: Celeste, <He is so hot.>
Most of her thoughts consisted of someone being hot. It got kinda tired when meeting new guys and just hearing about hot they were for hours upon hours at an end. Times like that they wish the could just knock her out of the group.
Mr. A. Summers was drinking coffee as well. The group was almost finished...only the parentals and Ms. Monroe left.
"Any one wants scrambled eggs with cheese shredded on top...and with bacon?" Mindee asked.
Two " I do" from her sisters, Phoebe and Sophie.
"I am just having coffee." Esme stated blandly.
Celeste smiled and put her hand on her hip, "I'll just have a low-fat yogurt. I am trying to keep my figure."
< Whatever. > was what she got mentally from the others

Sean rolled his eyes at Remy’s timing. The man had come back with Betsy, and tried to get her to his bed. At least he’d had the good sense to back off, seeing as though she was in a relationship. ’There went our nice quiet morning.’ He thought to himself wryly. He greeted the new arrivals to the kitchen as they came in, enjoying the interplay between the staff members. He saw Betsy clear their plates away,
“Thanks, Bets.” He stood up to get another cup of tea, the more caffeine, the better.
Then the first of their students arrived. Phoebe, Mindee, Esme, and Celeste. He still had some trouble telling them apart. If they didn’t wear specific colors, he’d be lost. He smiled at them,
“Good morning, how are all of ye this mornin?”

Betsy, as always, was quick to strike back at Remy, or any of the X-Men really. He was just the only target at the moment. “It’s for de kiddies. De don’t need to see what Remy does at night.” He replied with a smile. He learned early on not to worry about them knowing whether he left or not. He could trick the motion sensors, not the telepaths. Luckily, they didn’t pry too much. His mind wasn’t a nice place and there were things in there he didn’t want to explain.
More people started to pile in, as usual. This was easily the most used room in the mansion. He wasn’t surprised to find out Scott was up late. Hell some mornings, he would come back to find Scott still up. You have to respect that. He kept this place looking normal. Course, he also had that foxy little redhead too, a karma thing most likely.
"Don't you realize your setting a bad example for the kids. We don't like them sitting on the counters, so why should we abide you? Besides... they are probably cleaner than you." Ash spoke up, taking out her early morning frustrations on poor Remy. He just smiled. Comments like that rarely bothered him. Besides, it was just fun and games anyway. “Ain’t no students aroun’ yet, Cher.”
As if waiting for him to say it, the Stepford’s walked in. Remy raised an eyebrow, then turned to Ash and hopped down with a smile. Walking by Ash on the way to the breakfast counter, he said “Don’ go workin’ too hard on dat crush you got for me, Petite. It’ll getcha sooner or later.” That would get a stir out of her. Best way to start the day, as far as he was concerned.
He grabbed a blueberry muffin from the counter and walked to the table where he could sit and be a good role model at the same time. On his way, he smiled at the cuckoo’s. “ ‘Ello Children.” Odd kids really. Celeste was always staring at him.

“Good morning, Alex. Have a pleasant night?” Betsy asked him. Psylocke was one of those people that Alex could always train with. They both enjoyed keeping their bodies in peek physical condition. Alex had respect for her for that. It was something they had in common. At times, they competed against each other in the Danger Room. Which one of them could beat more opponents.
“Good morning, how are all of ye this mornin?” Sean also said. The two of them have always been together for as long as he knew them. It was hard to think of one of them without the other.
“Good morning, Betsy. Morning, Sean,” Alex replied back to her. He didn’t have much to say before his first cup of coffee. The caffeine needed to kick in before he could function correctly. Even though his morning workout woke up his muscles, the caffeine woke up his mind. He didn’t get a chance to answer her question about his night when she took her chance at answering Remy’s question. “Scott was up late last night so perhaps Jean took pity and let him sleep in,” Betsy replied to him. That’s exactly what Alex’s older brother didn’t need, pity. The man beat himself down each and every night by his own ability to over do everything. But he only did it to himself. In a way, it was good. The “X-Men” needed it. They needed to be whipped into shape if this dream was going to survive. Alex was just glad that he didn’t have to do it. He would help in any way but making sure everything was right, was just not his way.
"So whats the agenda for today? Anything new come up?" Ash asked. The new voice in the room made Alex bring his head out of the fridge to look at who else came into the room. As Alex did this, the five identical girls came walking in. There was so much promise in the Stepford’s but they tended to talk to themselves a lot.
“The normal, like usual,” Alex said to Ash in response to her question. She was another one that liked more action and less education. At one time in Alex’s life, he needed the college education for personal reasons. Now was different. Education was important but so was teaching the students how to act in the field. Alex made himself a bagel and smeared some cream cheese on it. The small breakfast was finished quickly and left Alex not satisfied. That was a shame. Now he had to find something else to occupy his time before he had to teach a class. He looked over to Betsy. Not knowing what she had planned for the day. Care for a Danger Room session? Alex thought hoping Betsy would catch it. It was basically an open invitation for anyone but he didn’t want to have the Stepford’s want to skip class to join them.

Ash scowled as Remy shot back a remark at her. It was true of course, but that made it worse. She was tempted to argue with him about the fact that a student could walk in at any moment, but didn't. Her point was made before she could say anything. The Stepford sisters walked into the room. She could never tell them apart, even when they tried not to look like one another. SHe always ended up calling one or more of them by their last name. She caught the look from Remy as he jumped of the counter and raised an eyebrow back at him to say 'see'.
Alex answered her question. as he emerged from the refigerator. It was not the answer she was hopeing fo, but she was used to that. It usually wasn't. She sighed. "Ah well, there's always tommorrow." She was about to comence in drinking the coffee in her hand when Remy took the moment to walk by. She listened to him out of what must have been a laps of intelligence in her morning stupor, thinking that he might have something importent to say. Why she didn't know, because a moment later he was gone and his comment was ringing in her ears. Ever aware of the students in the kitchen she bit back what she was going to say and scowled at him. Ash resorted to something that didn't contain profanity, but had the same effect as anything she might have said. She created a fake gun with her hand and pointed it at Remy's back. "Bang" She replied, " Drop dead." nd then turned her attention to her coffee. Ash enjoyed bantering with Gambit, he was always ready with a sharp retort of his own and rarely was angry. Of course, she would never admit that to him, that was part of the fun.
One of the five girls asked about food and Ash shook her head, she did not eat breakfast. She hadn't since prison. The rest of the stepford sisters began to confuse her once again on who was who as they began to answer the original one. Ash had already forgotten who that was, but it didn't matter since she hadn't known which sister it was in the first place. She had already brought up the option of making the sisters where name tags, but the others had blown her off thinking that it was a joke.
Ash glanced down at her coffee when nothing came out when she tried to drink it. THe cup was empty. She walked over and refilled her cup. She was always much better after about two cups of coffee in the morning. It had been one a few years ago, but that had slowly not become enough to get her cheerful enough to make it through her classes. She regretted the fact that caffine was not affecting her like it used to, but was ever thankful that she did not possess a healing mutation which would cancel out anything caffine did.

The people started to pour into the room, almost like Gambit himself had attracted them all. She could feel the disappointment in Sean but he knew they lived with many others and that privacy outside their bedroom was rare. Besides, where was the thrill if you didn't chance getting caught once in a while? He was still a bit old fashioned but slowly, Betsy's more..... wild ways was rubbing off on him. Just the other night they had found themselves enjoying a midnight swim at the lake when they had almost been discovered by a teammate. Betsy had laughed it off, saying that even if someone had seen them, she could have telepathically adjusted their memory of it. Ethical? No but they had been naked. What else was she supposed to do? Betsy simplied smiled at Remy's reasoning for why he spent his nights away from the mansion. If that were truly a cause for leaving, her and Sean would have had to have moved out years ago. Granted, she could screen any sounds that came from their room with just her mind and considering Sean's mutant power, it had been necessary a time or two. However, she was not going to encourage Remy to bring his dates home. She smiled fondly at Ash as the younger woman walked in the room and said, “Good morning, Ash.” She knew that Ash usually had to down a few cups of coffee before being able to make much conversation so she left it at that for now. Besides, she had joined in on getting on Remy's case about sitting on the counter. And the reasons to not do it walked in the room. The Stepford's unnerved several of the students and staff but they never bothered her a bit. Granted, she understood them in a way that only another telepath could and it was perhaps that reason that she was able to tell them apart. They may look identical and speak in an identical voice but they eminated such different auras. Once she had learned each aura, it had been simple to tell them apart. Nodding to their greeting, they were already on their way to finding food which was what they should be doing as teenagers. Both Alex and Ash were disappointed in the slow process of their undercover work and Betsy could understand the anxiety but there was nothing to do about it. They had to work cautiously or else they ran the risk of being detected by Magneto. The X-Men were fortunate to be able to Magnus' best friend's home as their base of operations and could use the school as a front. However, it was tedious as Scott's long nights going over the budget and curriculum proved. Betsy did what she could. They trained and taught the kids, he planned and strategized. It was a system that had worked for ten years and would continue to work if it was the death of her. Lost in her thoughts, Betsy almost missed a quiet <Care for a Danger Room session?> from Alex. Looking up and meeting his gaze, she replied, <Always, my friend.> Then Betsy turned her abilities on the others and spoke to all the adults at once. <Alex has suggested a Danger Room session for those who don't have something to do right away. I know I could stretch my limbs before my first class. Anyone is welcome to join us,> she offered. Pushing away from the chair she had been leaning against, Betsy said aloud for the sake of the students, “Well, I am off to start the day. I'll see you later.” Squeezing Sean's hand slightly, she walked out of the kitchen, her long purple ponytail swaying lightly against the back of her uniform. Psylocke exits Kitchen/Dining Room and enters Danger Room
