Sean watched Sharon attack the food, she must have been pretty hungry. All the changes might have had something to do with that. He wondered how Betsy, now his fiancée , was faring in the back yard, with Anna Marie. He thought the name was familiar, hadn't she been a student at sometime. His thoughts went back to their brief conversation in the kitchen, when she'd agreed to marry him. They were engaged! That thought kept popping into his head, as he watched Sharon eagerly eat the tuna fish.
Sean walked over to the fridge and pulled out the milk. He grabbed a small bowl, and poured some milk into it. He brought it over to Sharon, and set it down by her. Now he had a fiancée and a teenager. A teenager who could shape shift, and called them both “luv”. He knew Betsy wanted to keep their engagement secret, but that would be very difficult. He had a tendency to project when he was very happy or upset. The telepaths always knew when he and Betsy were fighting, even without him saying a word. He sat at the table, smile on his face, as he watched Sharon devour the fish.

< Sean, I’m sending Nathan to you now. Would you do me a favor and take him to the sub-levels and get him temporarily set up there? As I’m sure you know, Anna-Marie is here to do a surprise inspection and well, if she found out about him, the consequences wouldn’t benefit us at all. > While they had not seen Anna in a long time and she was still a good friend, she was dedicated to her mother and the Red Guard. Sometimes duty bests friendship. Jean wasn’t aware of what Sean and Betsy had discovered about Sharon in the War Room, but Sean didn’t seem to be in a rush at the moment, and she could really use his help.

The fish was good. And now there was milk. Sniffing it, she waited a moment before slowly lapping it from the bowl. It was cold, almost too cold. Turning back to the fish, she practically dove back in, finishing it off and licking the inside of the container clean. She hiccupped, morphing into panther form and looking down at the counter, finally deciding to lay down to drink the milk. It was easier than bending.
Finishing off the milk, she rolled onto her side, yawning. A nap was sounding better and better. Closing her eyes, she slowly drifted off into a light sleep, still half-alert. She didn't usually actually sleep, spending most of her rest time in a half asleep state. And, she decided, the panther was much better at that than the housecat. Although she'd have to find a big comfy place to sleep. The counter wasn't going to work for too long.

Sean blinked for a minute, stunned. Nathan, it was really him?! The baby he'd delivered those years ago, was back, alive! This day was getting to be extremely bizarre. And an inspection to top it all off. Jean must have picked up on his wonderful mood, but didn't want to ask. He watched as Sharon changed into a panther again, wonderful timing. Just terrific. How was he supposed to bring Nathan down to the sub basements, dragging a panther along? He looked at Sharon,
“Sharon, could ye be a luv, and change back to your smaller shape, please? We have some things ta do.” Then Sean thought back to Jean,
'Why don't I drop by yuir office and meet up with Nathan there? Tha' way might be easier. I kin grab some bedding for him on the way.'

“Sharon, could ye be a luv, and change back to your smaller shape, please? We have some things ta do.” She opened one eye, looking over at him and lifting her head. He wanted her to switch back to her real shape? Cocking her head, she creased her brow. < How? >
She had no problem with being in cat form, it was the getting there that was a pain. She wasn't sure at all how she managed to move from one to the other. She just sort of did it. Usually when she was scared. Or hiccupping. Or scared of hiccupping. Or... well, that was about it. But she couldn't very well scare herself. Stretching out and leaping down from the counter with a soft thud, she approached Sean, sitting down next to him. Maybe if she tried again...

Nathan followed the diagram projected to him through the halls of the mansion to the Kitchen. Some places seemed familiar, but most of his memories centered around being carried while clinging to his mother, father or one of their friends. Sean had carried him a few times too. Just thinking about that would make this meeting very interesting. He and Betsy were very good friends of his parents from what he could remember. They were most likely upset when he showed at the doorstep claiming to be who he was. He couldn’t imagine that they didn’t find out somehow by now.
Walking into the Kitchen and dining room, Nathan found Sean standing with a...panther? That was odd. It didn’t seem hostile though. Maybe it was someone’s pet, weirder things have happened. Nathan never had any pets though, not since he tried to keep a dog that walked onto the farm. He had it for one night and found Essex experimenting on it the next morning. Nathan had to put the dog out of it’s misery and had to scare away every other animal that came around the farm.
Knocking the thoughts away, He calmly walked up to Sean and extended his hand. “Hello, Mr. Cassidy,” he said, trying to seem pleasant. Sean was one of the people that, like his parents, needed to believe him. After shaking Sean’s hand, he gently reached out and scratched the panther behind it’s ears with his left hand, making sure not to be too rough. “Cool pet.” He felt sure if this panther was unsafe, they wouldn’t have it around children. Even if it was, his metal hand had some resiliency to it.

Sean had to smile as Sharon came down from the counter, still in panther form. This was going to be a long day. If they got through this inspection, he'd count his blessings. Then Nathan walked in. And it apparently was the real Nathan, whom they'd all believed to be dead.
If Charles came into the mansion, Sean was checking himself into the nearest loony bin. Of course, that would delay the wedding, and Lord only knew how long it would take to get Betsy to even think about that. Considering how long it had taken him just to get her to date him, they'd probably be engaged for the next several years.
Sean was brought out of his thoughts by Nathan,
“Hello, Mr. Cassidy,” Sean just grinned, and shook the young man's hand.
“Tis good ta see ye again, lad. This has been a surprise, ta say the least” He chuckled a little as Nathan scratched Sharon behind the ears. Oh, this was going to be fun to explain. If Sharon bit Nathan, oh, there would be trouble. Then Nathan spoke up,
“Cool pet.” Sean really had trouble controlling the laughter that wanted to come out. He closed his eyes for a moment,
“Right, that's a bit of an interesting story. But it will have ta wait for another time. I am glad ta see that ye are hale and hearty, Nathan, but we do need ta get downstairs. If ye could follow me, please.” The grin never left Sean's face as he led the young man down to the sub-basement.

She cocked her head as a big boy came into the room. He had a metal arm and looked a little scary. Watching as he greeted Sean, she remained seated. “Cool pet.” Okay, he wasn't scary. He was nice. And he was a good scratcher. She started to purr, scaring herself a little bit with the loudness. Not enough to change back to normal, though.
“Right, that's a bit of an interesting story. But it will have ta wait for another time. I am glad ta see that ye are hale and hearty, Nathan, but we do need ta get downstairs. If ye could follow me, please.” She looked up at Nathan and came as close to a grin as a cat could. He was a really good scratcher. Noticing that Orange Luv had started to walk away, she stood up and padded silently after him.

“Tis good ta see ye again, lad. This has been a surprise, ta say the least,” Sean said as he shook Nathan’s hand. “Well, I hope it turns out to be a pleasant one.” He certainly seemed to be taking this in stride. Then again, it wasn’t his child that had been missing and pretty much grown up without him. If everyone else took the news as well as he did, then he wouldn’t have anything to worry about. But once again his upbringing kicked in, telling Nathan to expect the worst.
He was getting some wierd vibes from the panther. It wasn’t odd for animals to have brainwaves. Every living animal had brainwaves but this animal’s signature seemed way too varied. Animals generally acted on instinct and their brain patterns didn’t fluctuate this much, unless they were scared. He also noticed Sean having trouble holding back laughter. There must have been something he was missing, which intrigued Nathan as he didn’t miss much. He followed as they both walked off, watching the panther cloesly.
