The Danger Room is the training facility for the X-Men. Using machinery and illusions, the X-Men are able to hone their battle skills and gain control over their powers in this room. The room is fortified with eight foot thick walls to keep damage inside the room.

Enters from the Kitchen/Dining Room
After greeting Ororo on her way out of the kitchen door, Betsy could sense Sean behind her so she paused and waited for him to catch up. She was already stretching out her arms, pulling them high over her head and reaching as far as she could. Her uniform was as durable as it was beautiful. Skin tight spandex, a deep purple background with a pink dragon stitched from her neckline down one leg. Her arms were left bare yet she wore short gloves. The leg that wasn't covered in fabric had a strip of purple running up it in pieces. Boots completed the extravagant uniform. She knew it was a complete indulgence but it didn't phase her any. Scott never had to budget them in the school's budget. She paid for them with her own money, her inheritance being able to be used under the table like that. Scott was able to use what money would have been spent on that and slide it into a bit of extra supplies that would never be traced. It sometimes frustrated her to no end that she had all this money sitting in her bank account and she couldn't use it except in small amounts to help their effort. Any large investments would raise eyebrows.
Glancing over at Sean, she asked, “So what do you think everyone is up for? Alex is joining us and he and I usually challenge each other to see who can take out more opponents. The guy is getting damned good at those powers of his. He gets harder and harder to beat each time and he probably knows it.” She grinned with that, the fact that she was actually proud of Alex coming through her words. She was fond of the younger Summer's brother and enjoyed dueling with him in the Danger Room. He certainly made her keep up with him which was perfectly fine with her. If there was no challenge, it wasn't worth the ninja's time.
Inputting the access code to the room, the door slid open and Betsy entered before Sean. The lights had activated at the signal of the code and already the machines that activated the programs in the room were humming. “Go pick something out while we wait for the others. I'm going to warm up a bit. And Sean, if your knee gives you any problems, step out. The last thing we need is you injuring yourself,” she said, her voice growing a bit bossy. It was difficult not to fret over his knee and at times, she wondered if they both weren't getting too old for this. But they had a mission to complete and if anyone understood just how important it was to her, it was Sean. Charles' four original students had been so completely affected by the cause of his death that they would work themselves into the grave to fulfill his dream.

Sean followed Betsy into the danger room. He went aside for a moment to his locker, where he pulled out a knee brace. He hated the thing, but it helped protect his bad knee. He changed into his uniform, with the brace on underneath. He preferredto wear jeans and a t-shirt when he taught. Betsy called out to him,
“Go pick something out while we wait for the others. I'm going to warm up a bit. And Sean, if your knee gives you any problems, step out. The last thing we need is you injuring yourself,” He called back to her,
"I've already got me brace on, luv. Don't fret about me."
Sean caught up with her after he programmed the computer for a cadre of opponents, a general mix of the mutants they had faced before, along with a few new ones. Then he went over to her as she stretched out, her back to him. Not that she wouldn't sense him, his motives. He reached out to grab her and pull her to him.

Sean left momentarily to change out of his jeans and into something more appropriate for the Danger Room. When he came back he called out, "I've already got me brace on, luv. Don't fret about me."
Betsy, her back to him yet quite well aware of where he was at all times, laughed. “If I don't fret about you, who else is going to do it?” she teased. She knew that if he did start to have problems, though, that she would know it. That link that had popped up between them, although not like the one that Jean and Scott had purposely built, allowed her to sense very clearly certain things that happened with him. The man couldn't have a nightmare at night without her sensing his distress. It was a strain on her at times, especially if she was in the middle of concentrating on something else, but something about him broke through her barriers. Jean once told her it was because she was relaxed and comfortable with him, something that she wasn't too often with most anyone else.
She shook her thoughts clear, still warming up her muscles meticulously, when she sensed Sean done toying with the computer console and came over to her. She assumed he was going to stretch as well while they awaited the others so she wasn't actively paying attention to his thoughts. His arms slid around her and turned her around, pushing her up against the wall of the room. With a smirk on her face, Betsy asked, “Just what do you think your doing? Anyone could walk in that door at any second.” She really didn't care if someone walked in on them. It appealed, in a disturbing way, to her sense of adventure.
Already she could sense people in the hallway but she would see where Sean was taking this public display of affection. As long as it wasn't Scott who walked in on them and gave them one of his “headmasterly” lectures, Betsy could live with it.

He grinned as Betsy asked him what he was doing. He leaned in close to her,
"What do ye think I'm doing?" He kissed her lips softly.
"I dinnae care who sees, they are adults, and they know we are in a relationship." He thought back to his wake up in the hospital, seeing Betsy by his side. That was how their relationship had really blossomed. They had been friends before that, but Xavier's death. Her visits while he'd recuperated had brought them together in a way neither one had forseen.
"I remember waking up, in that hospital, seeing ye, sitting there, purple hair and all. For a moment, I was disoriented, then realized that I had not died." He pressed his body against hers, not caring who might come in.

Betsy had to laugh at Sean. “You know better then anyone that I'm no angel, nor would I pretend to be. Charles' death affected us all deeply, it was natural to turn to each other for comfort,” she said. And then some, her mind added.
The first few years after his death were painful. They were mourning someone that they had all grown close to and they were busy opening the school and finding ways to be sneaky about their true cause. It was a strain on all four of them and they were so grateful when more and more people showed up to share the burden. Granted, Scott was still determined to do it all himself and had a hard time delegating tasks to anyone else but Jean was good for convincing him to accept assistance. To an extent. The man was still going to work himself into an early grave.
Sean pressed closer to her and Betsy wrapped her arms around his neck. Grinning at him and his unusual display, she leaned in and kissed him. Before anyone else could come through the door of the room, she pulled back and said, “Later, Irish. Right now, I have a challenge with Alex and I'm determined to win this one. Of course, we'll let the rest of you play, too.” She was teasing with him but her mind really was more focused on the workout then playing with Sean at the moment. There was always time for that later.
Expertly, Betsy slipped out of his grasp, nothing really able to hold her when she didn't want to be held, and she walked over to the monitor to see what program he had selected. It was a tough one and some of it had just been programmed into the computer. “Good choice,” she said, nodding her approval.

After a quick detour to his room to get changed into his training uniform, Alex walked towards the Danger Room. It was in the basement so it took a little while to get there but he finally made it. As he walked in, Betsy and Sean were waiting. If he were them, he would’ve got impatient and started without anyone. Luckily, they didn’t do that. He didn’t want to miss out on another workout for the day. Plus, Betsy was going to lose again. Couldn’t miss that. She had her fair share of wins but today was not going to be one of those times. Alex had to make sure of that. Maybe having Sean in the room will distract her. Hopefully. It would make it that much easier to secure the win. It’s not like Alex needed the help but it would make it easier. Alex liked a good competition so he hoped that the program was a good one.
“So what do we have programmed today?” Alex asked the both of them. He didn’t know which one of them programmed the computer but Alex was all ready to start. They might not have been impatient but Alex was. He didn’t like having to stand around to wait for people to eat their breakfasts. Starting early wouldn’t hurt anyone…

Sean sulked for about five seconds when Betsy wriggled away from him. He saw Alex come into the room, asking about what they had picked out.
“I selected a hard one, for all of us. Should be a good challenge.” He started stretching out his muscles, the last thing he needed was to hurt himself. Although if he did, Betsy would probably take care of him. And then she'd lecture him for months, and he'd never hear the end of it. He went about warming up, making sure his body was ready for a good session in the danger room.
Sean remembered plenty of sessions, after he was able to start training again. It was only after several months of rehabilitation therapy before he was even allowed to set foot in the danger room. He had not been the most patient person in the hospital, that was for certain. He'd driven quite a few nurses nuts, with his insistence on relying on himself, refusing to use a bedpan, never wanting to stop the rehab. He'd almost fallen a few times, but he'd gotten by. With a lot of support from Scott, Jean, and especially Betsy.
He finished warming up, and walked over to her,
"So, who else will be joining us?"

Storm went straight to the locker rooms to change into her uniform, leaving her cape out for the time being. The odds of her flying weren't all that good in the DR, and besides she was more interested in being able to fly without the simple benefit of her cape and it's wind catching abilities. She stepped into the DR to see Sean, Betsy and Alex already there. Alex she could tell was bouncing on his heels, ready to go.
"Remy I'm pretty sure will be joining us. Eventually, after he gets finished bugging Ash. Who might also be joining us." She sank down on her bottom, doing a few simple leg streches, while also strechting her arms.
She stood up a moment later, remebering to tie her hair back into some semblance of a ponytail. Messing with it for a few minutes, she grunted in frustration, then did a quick braid. Tight enough so that eve her usual wisps of hair wouldn't float out. She wasn't interested at all in having anything blocking her vision, especially her own hair. She walked over to the console as she was finishing her braid, and smiled a little. An interesting choice for this early in the morning. Everybody would definatly be on thier gaurd for the rest of the day.
She turned back to the other three standing there, "So, shall we wait? You know how Remy and Ash get once they start insulting each other. We could be here all day waiting for them." She said, grinning a little.

Sean sulked for a few seconds after she wiggled her way out of his arms. Betsy knew he'd get over it, it wasn't like she'd never done it before, and he did. Just as she had sensed, Alex walked in the room. If he had been the one to find them in a compromising position, he most likely wouldn't have been too thrilled. Glancing anxiously at the computer, his impatience clear on his face and easy to read without empathic telepathy, Alex asked, “So what do we have programmed today?”
Betsy grinned. She was going to kick his butt. He had won their last battle so it was only right that she got him back and with the program that Sean had chosen, she had a definite advantage. Most of the opponents wouldn't have a whole lot of chance against her martial arts skills. Sean replied before she could, “I selected a hard one, for all of us. Should be a good challenge.” That's what he thinks, Betsy thought a bit arrogantly.
Then Sean turned to her and asked, "So, who else will be joining us?" Just then, Ororo strolled into the room and answered his question. "Remy I'm pretty sure will be joining us. Eventually, after he gets finished bugging Ash. Who might also be joining us," she informed them.
Betsy grew quiet and contemplative for several seconds before replying to any of them. “Ash has something else to do. Scott and Jean are up now and as soon as Remy is done flirting with Jean, he'll be here,” she informed them. She didn't read their minds, exactly. Just sort of took notice where their emotions were sending them. Of course, even if she wanted, she couldn't read Jean's mind. It was sealed about as tightly as her own.
Then Ororo asked the million dollar question. "So, shall we wait? You know how Remy and Ash get once they start insulting each other. We could be here all day waiting for them,” the beautiful dark skinned, white haired woman asked.
Thinking about it for all of two seconds, Betsy answered, “It's not the insulting with Ash that could take Remy all day. It's the flirting with a certain married red head that may do him in.” She grinned as she amended what Storm had said. It was true, too. Granted, they all knew that below Ash and Remy's insult flinging was definite flirtation. “Let's get started. He knows how to wiggle his way into the fight once it starts and the computer will allow him into the room even once it's begun.”
With that, Betsy reached over and pushed the “Start” button on the control panel. Instantly, the room was transformed into a simulation of a city where they would find their opponents littered throughout streets and buildings. Although the room was only so large, thanks to the hologram, their workout area was much, much larger. The computer would keep track of who took out how many opponents and what they were so there was no chance of cheating. Her face already completely emotionless in preparation for battle, Betsy said, “Good luck, everyone!” Then she ran off to search for her first victim.

“I selected a hard one, for all of us. Should be a good challenge,” Sean reassured him. That was good to hear. Now, there can be a good challenge with his mind and abilities after he worked out his body. Not only that but the competition was always a good way to start the morning. "So, who else will be joining us?" Sean asked Betsy. Ororo decided to walk in at that time and answer his question.
"Remy I'm pretty sure will be joining us. Eventually, after he gets finished bugging Ash. Who might also be joining us," Ororo stated. There was a full house for the competition. That made Alex feel much better about his chances to win.
“Ash has something else to do. Scott and Jean are up now and as soon as Remy is done flirting with Jean, he'll be here,” Betsy informed them. It sounded like Betsy wanted more people in this competition. It was fine with Alex, though. The more involved and the better chances Alex had to winning.
So, shall we wait? You know how Remy and Ash get once they start insulting each other. We could be here all day waiting for them," Ororo said to them. This was true. There was no need to wait anymore. They were told of the Danger Room session and if they didn’t make it then they were out of luck.
“It's not the insulting with Ash that could take Remy all day. It's the flirting with a certain married red head that may do him in,” Betsy corrected. She was an intuitive person and she knew things that she really shouldn’t know but no one was going to say anything.
“Who doesn’t Remy flirt with?” Alex asked. It was a constant with that man. If there was a woman in his general vicinity, then Remy was putting his charm on her. Alex had got used to hearing it left and right.
“Let's get started. He knows how to wiggle his way into the fight once it starts and the computer will allow him into the room even once it's begun,” Betsy stated then started the program. The room changed to look like the city. Alex grinned, this was going to be good.. “Good luck, everyone!” Betsy yelled out as she took off to get get started. Alex had no idea what they were fighting but it didn’t matter to him. This was everyone for themselves and Alex didn’t hesitate to run off in a completely opposite direction.
Alex stopped at an intersection to look both ways. They was nothing. The streets were empty. I guess the challenge is to find the opponent? Alex thought to himself. As soon as the thought finished, a blur passed by him making him spin to try to find it. He turned right into someone grabbing him by his containment suit and pushing him at a increased speed. The sudden movement stunned Alex and he was lifted from the air by the momentum. Looking down, he saw what they were fighting. SHIELD’s Red Guard. Or at least some of them.
Havok recognized who had grabbed him. Northstar. A grin formed on Alex’s face as he placed his hands on the man’s shoulders and fired a plasma wave point blank into the holographic Northstar. His arms blew, releasing Alex as he skidded across the fake pavement. There was no time for pain as the back of his containment suit tore and peeled off from the friction. Rolling with the tumble, Alex got to his knees and fired another plasma wave directly at the fallen Northstar. It hit him directly in the chest, effectively destroying the holographic image of Jean Paul Beaubier. Alex looked around after defeating one enemy. Wherever there was Northstar, his sister was sure to be around close by. Sean definately picked a good program.

Sean grinned as the program started, he knew this would be a challenge for everyone. As the city formed around them, he saw everyone go their own way. He took to the air, flying around until he spotted an armed soldier accosting a "normal" human. He swooped in, and targeted the enemy with a sonic blast, that had the man reeling.
Sean landed next to the soldier, protecting the human as he landed a powerful punch to the face of his adversary. He switched between his sonic scream, and his fists. The soldier went down hard, and he smirked a little. Then he moved on, to find another opponent and take them out.

Storm kept to herself, instead of running off she stayed close to the door, keeping a close eye on her suroundings. It was dark, looking as though it would began raining soon, and Storm smiled. Rain was simply another element to her. CAtching something moving out of the corner of her eye, Storm quickly turned that way, catching sight of a soldier. Simple. She toyed with him, calling down a bolt of lightning inches awat from where he was standing, then nodding her head when he turned towards her.
Oh he was angry now. She watched as he came flying towards her, and once he got close enough to connect she simply brought a blst of wind against him, sending him flying towards the wall of a building, and smashing into it. One down, so many more to go... Storm thought as she paced herself down the street, staying aware of her surroundings. the time to play was over. These workouts were always a cut throat competition among the adults, and the losers weren't able to live it down until the next time up. She certainly wasn't planning on losing today.

Betsy kept tabs on everyone through her telepathy and saw which opponents had been dealt with so far. That way, she'd have some idea of which ones were left for her. Leaping up to the top of a building by jumping from one structure to another to reach the proper height, Betsy stood atop the building and scanned the area. Right behind her was what she was looking for.
Turning quickly, she saw the blue furred demon, Nightcrawler. This was a completely unfair target for her. She'd trained the younger mutant when he and his sister had spent time at the Institute, before they had rejoined their mother in the Red Guard. The only way that Kurt had ever had an advantage over her was that she couldn't trace him telepathically when he was teleporting so his re-entry had always been a surprise for her. One of the things she loved about sparring with him had been the fact that he was as agile as she was. They'd had lots of fun when he was here, her working with him under the guise of training for life outside the Institute. It was certainly something that the X-Men had used to their advantage. They knew how both Kurt and Anna operated since they had trained with them.
The simulation not saying a word, “Kurt” teleported and Betsy let loose her psi-knife. She would be ready no matter where he popped in at. She sensed him immediately above her, ready to crash down on her with his feet and Betsy spun away, doing two back flips to put distance between them again. Kurt came down to the building effortlessly and this time, Betsy took the charge. Screening herself telepathically, she ran toward him but the damned elf teleported just as she got there. Must have been part of the new programming. She couldn't shield from them telepathically. No matter. That was the easy way out anyhow.
Kurt reappeared a short way behind her and without looking at where she was aiming, she used her senses and spun around, back kicking him across the middle. The simulation grunted, then dropped to the ground in obvious pain. Betsy reached down and stabbed him in the head with her knife, making the simulation sputter and then fade. If he'd been the real Kurt, his upper most thoughts would have been transferred to her immediately. That was too easy. The real Nightcrawler wouldn't be so easy to defeat. The program would definitely have to be reworked.
Done with that area, Betsy ran across the roof top to the next building. She did this three more times, looking for more opponents. She encountered a few nameless guards now and then but she wanted the heavy stuff. Heck, she wanted Mystique.

The sounds outside the Danger Room told Gambit they had started without him. Damn! If he was going to keep up, he couldn’t change into his uniform first. He entered the code to open the doors during a session. It would cause a momentary flicker in the holograms until he got inside and closed the door again, but that’s what they deserve for not waiting.
As his red eyes focused into the moving pictures in front of him, Remy flipped up the collar of his coat and pulled a retractable quarter staff from the inside pocket. Almost immediately, he was attacked from behind by a soldier. He was quick enough to knock Gambit to the ground but was by no means a heavy hitter in the program. From the floor, he kicked the generic soldier’s legs out from under him and hit him with a his staff, which he hadn‘t even extended yet.
Standing again, Remy started to stroll down the street. He’d worked this program before, they would come to him. And they did, one by one, he was attacked by more generics. Gambit dispatched them the same way he did pretty much anything, with style. He even jumped on one guy’s back and rode him like a bull into more soldier. Fun as it was, he was getting bored quick. “Where’s de Red Guard? De usually aroun’ by now.” As if waiting for him to say it (why did that keep happening this morning?), Rogue came out from a dark alley.
“Pretty, pretty” She was Remy’s favorite simulation. They told him she used to train here along with her brother, the children of Mystique. It sure would be nice if she was still around. In mid thought, she lunged at Remy. Falling backwards, he used the momentun to monkey flip the girl away from him. Damn, he felt her hands grab at his neck. They jumped to their feet at the same. She didn’t have gloves on, just like he thought. Well, it wasn’t the first time his dirty mind had gotten him in trouble, probably wouldn’t be the last.
Rogue stood beside a full garbage can and it didn’t take long until she had some ideas on what to do with it. Remy had to fling a handful of uncharged cards to intercept the objects before they exploded on him. Then with a few charged items of his own, he distracted Rogue enough to sneak up behind her and bonk her over the head with his staff. The shot knocked out Rogue and caused the hologram to flicker away.
Shaking his head, Remy said “Pretty, but too easy. Where’d do’s blonde girls go to?”
