Alex held on tighter to Theresa as she grabbed hold of him and cried. She continued crying and all Alex could do was hold her and continue to comfort her as best he could. Theresa didn't deserve the attack that she received and now Alex's mind was completely made up over her cousin. He didn't like him, not one bit. Tom was an angry, jealous drunk but Alex hoped that he was different when he was sober.
"I'm sorry, Alex, looks like I chose a bad time to say hi. Anyway, Jean needs me and you've got someone who needs you. Jean and I staying in the penthouse with some colleagues. Maybe we can talk later," Scott said. Alex could see he was a little bit uncomfortable. It was understandable but he wanted to know who his brother was and is.
"Scott, you don't have to leave," Alex told him. He felt bad. Theresa needed him and he wanted to be there for her, too. There was no way to be in two places at once. A dilemma but Alex was needed by Theresa's side. She needed support and Alex fully intended to give her all she can handle.
"I've gotta go," Scott finally said right before turning around and taking off. Alex didn't even have the chance to try to stop him but at least he knew where Scott and Jean were staying. The penhouse, Alex thought. He was impressed. Scott's inability to relax bothered him though. There was no need to get all stressed out and anal all the time.
Alex refocused on Theresa after Scott left. It was only the two of them now and the hole in the wall was beginning to be felt. He felt the cold rush of air on his back but nothing but warmth in front him where he held Theresa. She should be protected by the heat his body radiated. Theresa was well protected in his arms and he wasn't going to let anything get in the way of anything she wants.
"I'm sorry ya didn't get ta see yuir brother, Alex. I'm sorry for tha mess Tom made in here. Ya can't stay here, not with tha hole in tha wall. How about if we get yuir things and move you ta my room?" Theresa said after she pulled away from him a little bit. The cool breeze from the window and the lack of a door was a definate sign that he couldn't spend the night in this room. He was going to have to move into Terry's room, not like he minded at all.
"And spend more time with you? Of coarse," Alex replied to her. He didn't move to gather his personal belongings just yet. Theresa was still an emotional wreck and he didn't want to stop holding her until she was perfectly okay.
"I have ta see my cousin. I have ta try to make him understand. And I have ta find out how he knew where ta find...." Theresa trailed off, making Alex a little bit confused. He knew that Terry was going to have to confront Tom again. That was obvious. Things were left unsaid and Alex wasn't going to get in the way of family. But if Tom even raises his hand to her again, Alex vowed to break every bone in the arm it was attached to.
"I know you do and I'll be right there with you if you want me to be," Alex said to her. He was hoping that he could go with her. There was no telling what her cousin would do. Tom was scum, lower than scum for even raising a hand to Theresa who's only crime was to have Tom as her family. "Let me get my things together and we can go back to your room. We'll go from there," Alex notified her as he got up and started to collect his personal belongings. His suitcase fit everything he brought on his trip and it was packed fairly quickly. Carrying his luggage in his left hand, he held Theresa by her waist with his right arm wrapped around her. Before they left, Alex took a quick look on the damage done to the room. "I'm never going to be able to afford this," Alex said as he shut off the lights and escorted the lovely Theresa to their room.
