Jonathons eyes quickly narrowed and he tensed in case anything happened. So that's how she knew. He didn't bother hiding anything but no point on bringing anything to mind, she had already broken in if she had gotten his name that way.
"So why do you need me? You can do the work yourself why bring me into this?"
The only exit was the door which the lady had just walked away from. It made him slightly nervous still about not knowing her name but he didn't think about it right now.

Emma watched his face closely for his reaction to her power. He was good at hiding his emotions on the surface. Very good. However, even without telepathy, she could pick up on things just below the surface. Jon did, however, surprise her by not walking out the door.
“I appreciate you thinking that I can do everything on my own but I am, after all, just one woman,” she said while trying not to grin. He was right in that she probably could do most anything on her own. But that wasn't her intentions. No, she needed the students, just not quite how they thought she needed them.
“I am not sure exactly what you are thinking I have planned for you, however, my main concern right now would be providing you with the most basic necessities in life. Specifically shelter, food and clothes. If, in the future, I have need of your specific ability, then I will tell you and we can talk about it at that time. I know you are still concerned about anyone finding you here but I guarantee you, if anyone even looks as this place with an ulterior motive, they will not remember they ever found it,” she told him, her own eyes narrowing with her last sentence.

Jonathon wanted to show his frustration with this woman, she expected him to stay based on the idea that she would inform him on a need to know basis, as if.
"Don't kid around, you know that you could very well handle anything you came across. The worship of the others here is enough for me to see you either are extremely powerful or you just have a ton of blackmail; I doubt the last one."
He took a couple steps toward her, he wasn't sure that one of the twerps weren't listening at the door.
"I will not stay here unless you make very clear what you want me to do. I will not stay if it's not worth my while. I will not stay just because you promise food and shelter. I can find enough to satisfy my needs quite well. Now you and what you say next are the deciding factors in whether I stay or not."
He stepped back and waited, he could care less whether he stayed. This woman obviously thought he was important and she obviously thought she needed him. But I don't need her.

Emma ran her fingers through her blonde hair, the only outward sign of frustration she gave. She was tired and she was done playing this game. If he was going to put up this much hassle over staying with her and the others, he may as well just leave.
Emma walked over to the door and reached for the handle. Looking back before opening it, she said in a cold voice, “You are correct. I am powerful but that doesn't mean I wish to do everything on my own. However, I believe our discussion is over. I will take you to the front gate now and by the time you walk through, you will forget that you have ever heard of Emma Frost or the Massachusetts Academy.”
Opening the door, Emma gestured for him to exit before her.

"If you want that, fine."
Jonathon was slightly disapointed in this woman. She wanted him to stay, then she decides to escort him out of the building just because he was testing her ability to control the situation. He walked out of the room and waited politely for whoever she was.

Emma ignored his little dig and closed the door to her office. Her phone rang just as she was about to get her coat out of her closet and Beatrice came out of the kitchen saying, “Ms. Frost, it's Mr. Shaw.”
Giving the housekeeper a glare for even mentioning that much, she looked over at her “guest” who had the manners of a rock and said, “I'll be right back.”
Picking up the phone and walking to the balcony doors, she said into the receiver, “Sebastian, thanks for calling me back. I need the rooms that the Hellions use at the club when we are in town.”
After a brief pause, she continued, “Tomorrow, as soon as I can get clearance from the air field. Something is happening in Washington and I want to be as close to the action as possible.”
Another pause and she concluded, “Nine, no, make that ten rooms. Forge will be joining us this time. Very well, I look forward to seeing you and I'll fill you in on the rest of the details tomorrow.”
Turning off the phone and placing it back in the cradle, she finished putting on her coat and opened the apartment door. “Do you have anything to pick up from the room you used?” she asked.

"No," Jonathon was amused, was he suppose to have heard anything? He had listened in, it was quite obvious to him that he should. And besides wiping his memory would never wipe her voice from him. He could hear her voice again and remember everything, such was the workings of his power. "Are you going to lead or would you like me to try and find my way out. In case you forgot, your minion dragged me up here blind."

“I do not have minions, Jon. Yes, my students help me but they are independent thinkers. They have to be,” she said coldly.
Reaching out with her mind, she located Forge, who was outside, of all places and she mentally said, < Forge, I am escorting our latest guest to the gates. He won't fit in with our agenda and it is best for him to leave. I need to see you as soon as I'm done. Something has come up. >
Leading Jon through the school, down the elevator and to the front door, she pulled on the hood of her white, mink coat and noticed the snow had picked up in intensity. As long as it didn't delay her departure in the morning.....
Opening the front door, Emma led Jon out into the cold, night air.

Walking back into the warmth of the dormitory, Emma removed the hood she was wearing and dusted the snow off of her. Using the elevator, she landed on her personal, private floor and walked into her apartment. She heard Beatrice in the kitchen and Emma looked in. “Beatrice, I'll finish up the tea, you go to bed. It's very late. Forge should be up soon but I'll take care of him,” she gently told the older woman.
Beatrice nodded and bid Emma good night. As the kettle sounded, Emma turned off the stove and poured the hot liquid into a mug that was waiting for her. Then she walked into the living room and waited for Forge.

As Emma waited for Forge to make his way through the building, she heard a buzzer sound and wondered why someone was at the gate so late at night. Then she heard a forced, < Merry Christmas, old mum. Mind opening the gates before I freeze? >
Standing up from the couch, she walked over to a panel, smiling the whole way. There was only one person whom had ever gotten away with calling her “Old Mum” and that was Jono. It appeared her prodigal “son” had returned.
Pushing a select button, the front gates opened and Emma returned, < Welcome home, Jono. Why don't you join me in my apartment so that I can get a good look at you. >

[[Entered from Outside the Gates]]
Straightening his long black leather duster and the black button up shirt he wore over the bandages, Chamber started towards the mansion. The academy had changed very little since he'd left. He quickly crossed the grounds and stepped into the dormitory, stamping the snow off his heavy black motorcycle boots before he entered. He made his way to the top floor, where the White Queen's apartment was located.
He brushed the snow from his rather long bangs and his clothing. Normally, he cared very little for his appearance, but he knew with Emma Frost, every little detail counted. He rapped softly on the door. <It's me,> he 'called out' mentally. Of course, she knew that most likely, but he had to say something.
<So do you want me to come in? Or did I drop in at a bad time?> His tone was light, almost joking. <I can come back later so you can tear into me for being such a bloody pillock, if it is.> Well half-joking. He didn't expect the White Queen to accept him back with open arms and no consequences, especially after the public spectacle he'd made of himself in the last few months. He fell silent and waited for her response.

She stirred softly on the chair that she'd fallen asleep on. After the dishes were all done, Beatrice had suggested that Sharon head off to bed, but she didn't want to go to sleep without first saying goodnight to Emma, so she'd morphed into housecat form and curled up on one of the large chairs in the living room area. The buzz of the intercom had awakened her a bit, and she opened one eye as a knock came at the door. She saw Emma's face and sat up a bit, blinking a few times. Emma seemed happy about whoever it was, despite the late time. Maybe it would be someone that Sharon knew.

Emma could sense his nervousness and it became even more apparent with his “joke”. He came back but wanted to put off a confrontation with her as long as possible. Not that Emma could blame him. However, he was lucky. She had already taken some of her mood out on Jonathon and she was feeling somewhat nice.
Calling out to him, she said, < The door is open, Jono. > She wasn't about to stand up from her comfortable position on the couch just to open a door for him. Besides, this put her at more of an advantage. Let him sweat it out a bit. He didn't have to know that what he did with that singer had been more entertaining for Emma then anything.

< The door is open, Jono. > He heard in his mind. Her tone was still neutral, giving him no hint to her mood. Shaking his head at himself, he reached for the handle and opened the door. He saw Emma lounging on the sofa, her expression neutral, giving away nothing. A small indigo cat perched on a chair, stretching and blinking, as if she'd just woken up.
He stepped into the apartment and nodded to the White Queen. <Hullo> he said awkwardly. Now that he was here, he didn't know what to say to her. Well, he knew what he wanted to say, but he didn't want to rush right into it. Jono, you blinkin' git, stop it. It's not like you killed anybody or blew up any buildings, he scolded himself inwardly.
Squaring his shoulders, he shoved down his nervousness, and walked towards the sofa. He stopped a few feet away and held open his arms. She said she wanted to 'see' him. He hadn't changed all that much really. He still favored black clothing, still wore his dark auburn hair in the same style, still hid the psionic flames filling his body with dark bandages. Where he had changed, probably only she could 'see'. <Well, what do you think, old mum?>
